Abstract

The development of BME280 sensor and BN-220 GPS module based on Arduino Uno is a device that can measure temperature, humidity, air pressure and location coordinates in real-time. This research aims to compare the performance of the device with temperature, humidity, and air pressure sensors, as well as the Arduino Uno-based GPS module with the performance of existing measuring instruments at BMKG, Climatology Station. This research was conducted from September to December 2024 at the Sub-Laboratory of Agricultural Energy, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University and BMKG, Class I Climatology Station, South Sumatra. The research method used, namely quantitative descriptive method which includes the development of hardware, software, testing, and measurement data displayed in the form of tables and graphs. The research was conducted by taking data per 1 hour starting from 08.00 to 16.00 WIB, the data obtained was compared with data from BMKG. This tool combines to measure environmental condition parameters, namely temperature, humidity, and air pressure, as well as location coordinates that can be used portable because it does not need to use the internet network to be able to display the measured parameters. The results obtained will appear on the LCD and the measurement data is stored directly on the SD card. This tool is able to provide real-time data and generate measurement data for each parameter simultaneously, so that farmers or users in remote areas can know the environmental conditions directly and take appropriate action. The comparison results show that the temperature parameter gets an average percentage difference of 4.01%, humidity is 11.2%, air pressure is 0.03%, and location coordinates have an average difference value of 2.9m. This tool is able to provide measurement data that is consistent and relatively the same as the data generated by BMKG.

Abstract

Lack of understanding of using liquid smoke in preserving chicken fillet food and rubber agricultural products for durability among farmers in Payakabung Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency is the main factor in carrying out Community Service (PkM). The purpose of this PkM is to educate and improve the knowledge and skills of the Payakabung Village community regarding the benefits and techniques of using liquid smoke on chicken fish meat as a food preservative and agricultural products for the durability of rubber latex products. Implementing community service for farmers is done directly in the field through pedagogical and participatory learning. The activity is counselling and socialization through lecture methods, discussions, and questions and answers, where the community service team delivers the material. Community Service related to the dissemination of liquid smoke technology in Payakabung Village has effectively empowered the local community, especially farmers. Through this program, farmers have succeeded in developing skills in utilizing liquid smoke on chicken fillets and rubber agricultural products for the durability of latex, which has high economic value. The program's success is reflected in farmers' ability to use liquid smoke independently to preserve and improve the quality of products such as chicken fillets and rubber, ultimately opening up new business opportunities and increasing their income.

Abstract

The green lettuce and Curly red lettuce have a high potential to be developed as commercial crops on limited land with verticulture cultivation system. The use of this cultivation system must be supported by adequate nutrients and water in addition to optimal environmental conditions. By using the vertical hydroponic plant cultivation method will increase the growth of Curly red and green lettuce plants. The method used is an experimental method and the data is processed using polynomial analysis method and descriptive method. The observation parameters in this study consisted of main parameters (flow rate, power requirement, energy requirement, and water pressure calculation). In addition, supporting parameters were evaluated including plant height, leaf count, fresh weight of plants, plant productivity, and harvest yield. Data were analyzed using descriptive and regression methods. The power requirement used from the initial stage of transplanting to harvest is 640.8 W. The total energy requirement used from the initial planting process to the harvest process is 2563.2 Wh. The average AB mix requirement of each stage of plant is 972.0 ppm; 1231.9 ppm; 1158.1 ppm; 1092.4 ppm. Flow rate is directly proportional to temperature; if the temperature increases, the flow rate for nutrients will increase, and if the temperature decreases, the flow rate will decrease for the fertigation system. Keywords: Energy, Hydroponic, Lettuce, Nutrition, Verticulture cultivation.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the use of a fixed bed furnace. Fixed bed furnaces are less effective because their use is fixed.  The purpose of this research was to design a mobile drying furnace fueled by sawdust biomass.  This research uses an experimental method with 3 stages of design, namely design approach, functional design and structural design. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The result of this research is a mobile drying furnace designed consisting of a fuel feeder, fuel channel, hopper, combustion chamber and heat exchanger chamber, chimney and furnace outlet channel and channel after the fan that can function properly. Furnace testing was carried out using sawdust fuel. The resulting feed speed is 10.3 kg/hour, the capacity of the combustion chamber for sawdust is 3.4 kg, the average temperature in the fuel feeder is 40.41 °C, in the combustion chamber 414.57 °C, in the heat exchanger 79.80 °C, in the chimney 104.11 °C, in the furnace outlet channel 62.77 °C, in the channel after the fan 46.08 °C, the sawdust fuel consumption rate was 5.8 kg/hour and the furnace efficiency obtained in the study was 53.90%. The resulting hot air temperature can be used for drying grain.Key words:  design, efficiency furnace, mobile drying furnace, temperature
