Abstract

Community service activities in Putak Village aim to educate and empower farmers and housewives in utilizing plastic bottle waste as a medium for planting hydroboks technology for vegetable crops through a simple hydroponic system (NFT). This program is carried out for five months through the stages of field surveys, counseling, technical training, mentoring, and evaluation. The results of the activity show the effectiveness of the use of plastic waste as an environmentally friendly and sustainable planting medium, helping to reduce the pile of plastic waste while providing urban farming solutions in narrow yards. This training successfully improved the community's knowledge and technical skills about hydrobacca systems, which is evident from the enthusiasm of the participants and their success in growing vegetables independently. In addition, this program has a positive impact on the economy by reducing spending on purchasing vegetables and supporting the consumption of pesticide-free fresh food. The environmental impact is also seen through increasing public awareness in managing plastic waste based on the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) principle. The success of this program can be increased through continuous education, such as seminars, plastic waste management innovation competitions, and the creation of educational materials in the form of videos and posters to reach more bans.

Abstract

Lack of understanding of using liquid smoke in preserving chicken fillet food and rubber agricultural products for durability among farmers in Payakabung Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency is the main factor in carrying out Community Service (PkM). The purpose of this PkM is to educate and improve the knowledge and skills of the Payakabung Village community regarding the benefits and techniques of using liquid smoke on chicken fish meat as a food preservative and agricultural products for the durability of rubber latex products. Implementing community service for farmers is done directly in the field through pedagogical and participatory learning. The activity is counselling and socialization through lecture methods, discussions, and questions and answers, where the community service team delivers the material. Community Service related to the dissemination of liquid smoke technology in Payakabung Village has effectively empowered the local community, especially farmers. Through this program, farmers have succeeded in developing skills in utilizing liquid smoke on chicken fillets and rubber agricultural products for the durability of latex, which has high economic value. The program's success is reflected in farmers' ability to use liquid smoke independently to preserve and improve the quality of products such as chicken fillets and rubber, ultimately opening up new business opportunities and increasing their income.

Abstract

Irigasi bawah permukaan berpori adalah inovasi terkini dalam pengairan, yang memungkinkan penyaluran air di sekitar akar tanaman tanpa mengalami evaporasi, aliran permukaan, maupun infiltrasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan penggunaan air dengan menggunakan irigasi berpori, sehingga dapat meningkatkan produktivitas tanama. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam adalah metode deskriptif dan studi pustaka yang menyajikan data dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik. Parameter penelitian pada penelitian ini yaitu suhu dan kelembaban udara, sifat fisik tanah, konduktivitas hidrolik, pola sebaran, evapotranspirasi aktual (ETc), koefisien tanaman (Kc), total kebutuhan air tanaman, efisiensi penggunaan air dan produktivitas tanaman. Hasil pengukuran evapotranspirasi aktual tanaman pada setiap fase pertumbuhan tanaman berturut-turut yaitu 2,45 mm/hari, 3,4 mm/hari dan 1,25 mm/hari. Rerata nilai evapotranspirasi potensial tanaman (ETo) adalah sebesar 2,49 mm/hari. Nilai koefisien tanaman (Kc) pada masa vegetatif adalah 0,9, generatif sebesar 1,3 dan generatif akhir sebesar 0,5. Total kebutuhan air tanaman tomat selama masa vegetatif yaitu 4 liter, generatif sebanyak 8,4 liter dan generatif akhir (panen) sebanyak 1,2 liter. Pola sebaran air tertinggi yaitu 3,9 cm (B8), sedangkan yang terendah nya yaitu B2 dihari pertama dengan 3,0 cm.  Pada pola sebaran air yang di dapatkan sebaran yg menyebarkan airnya dengan baik yaitu pada M1. Produksi tanaman tertinggi pada Q1N2M2 yaitu penyiraman 2 menit dengan pertambahan nutrisi 200 ppm perminggu serta media tanam campuran tanah ultisol dan cocopeat. Jumlah daun tebanyak pada sampel Q1N2M2 yaitu 198 helai dan Q2N2M2. Berat buah tertinggi terdapat pada sampel Q1N2M2 dengan rerata berat sebesar 103,55 gram.
