Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui mekanisme penguatan sistem sosial masyarakat dalam mengatasi kerentanan masyarakat industri akibat pencemaran limbah. Penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus ini dilaksanakan di Sentra Industri Batik Kampung Batik Laweyan Surakarta dengan informan yang dipilih dengan purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi, wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Validitas data dengan triangulasi sumber, kemudian dianalisis dengan model interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meningkatnya intensitas produksi batik di kawasan Kampung Batik Laweyan mengakibatkan dampak pada meningkatnya tingkat pencemaran logam berat pada ekosistem sungai. Dibutuhkan upaya penguatan sistem sosial melalui skema AGIL (Adaptation, Goal Attainment, Integration, Latency). Adaptasi (Adaptation), pemerintah, stakeholders dan pengusaha harus beradaptasi dengan lingkungan dan menyesuaikan lingkungan dengan kebutuhan terkait upaya mewujudkan industri batik ramah lingkungan. Pencapaian tujuan (Goal attainment), perlu upaya kolaboritif segenap stakeholders dalam menumbuhkan kesadaran bersama dalam mendefinisikan dan mencapai tujuan pengembangan kawasan industri batik ramah lingkungan. Integrasi (Integracy), pemerintah harus mengatur hubungan antara stakeholders dan pengusaha dalam pengembangan kawasan industri ramah lingkungan. Pemeliharaan pola (Latency), pemerintah dan stakeholders harus saling melengkapi, memelihara dan memperbaharui motivasi pengusaha dan pola–pola budaya yang menciptakan dan mempertahankan motivasi pengusaha dalam pengembangan industri batik berbasis ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

A teacher's ability to adapt to technology is tested when there is a significant change from face-to-face to distance learning. The most important thing is the teacher's effort to direct the attitudes and skills of students during online learning. The Technology, Pedagogy, Content Knowledge (TPACK) approach can be a solution to provide opportunities for educators to synergize anti-corruption education in learning practices. In this activity, anti-corruption education in sociology subjects was carried out using the TPACK framework approach. The service's target is the lecturers of sociology subjects in Surakarta. The method of implementing this service consists of several activities, including focus group discussion (FGD) offline to observe community needs. Then proceed with an online meeting through a zoom meeting to deliver general anti-corruption education materials and training asynchronously through the google classroom platform for 32 lessons for the benefit of training in anti-corruption education content analysis and anti-corruption learning model innovation. The preparation of anti-corruption education-based learning videos is carried out. The results of the activities were an increase in the ability of teachers to design anti-corruption learning innovations in sociology subjects and an increase in the ability of teachers to compile sociology learning videos by strengthening content knowledge of anti-corruption education insertions.

Abstract

The success of online learning implementation in higher education is determined by internal factor such as student self-directedness. The article aimed to measure students’ self-directedness in higher education context. The research respondents were 472 students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University. The respondent were selected based on cluster and random sampling. The data were collected through the Self-rating Scale of Self-Directed Learning (SRSSDL). The results showed the level of student learning self-directed learning is at a medium and high level. The results also illustrate the transformative ability of students in the setting of online learning. Overall, this study shows the importance of student self-direction in supporting online learning readiness. Therefore, teacher must be able to provide constructivism-based learning strategies and student-centred approaches that can accommodate student independence in the learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the history of the origins of angkringan from Ngerangan Village as well as the adaptation strategy of traders in the process of spreading angkringan. The research method used is a qualitative research method. This research was conducted in Ngerangan village, Bayat sub-district, Klaten district. Data collection was done through interviews and observation. The results showed that the emergence of angkringan for the first time originated from Ngerangan Village and began its expansion to Surakarta. There is a special term that refers to someone who works as an angkringan seller, namely prembe. The process of spreading angkringan is highly dependent on the family's decision to continue the tradition of selling angkringan. Some of the adaptation strategies carried out by prembe are group life, building relationships and networking between traders, opening with local food menus, and designing the angkringan concept which is not just a place to eat, but functions as a public space that has egalitarian norms.

Abstract

Adolescents' participation in a religious community can influence the formation of patterns of social interaction in their environment. Ihtimam Mosque Community Youth (REKOMAS) is a youth religious organization that focuses on mosque activities for the community around the mosque's location. The existence of youth in the mosque community has had many positive impacts on the community, especially in providing facilities for social, educational, and religious activities. In the organizational process, they must gain new knowledge about religious literacy to strengthen the members' mentality. Therefore, this service activity is carried out to increase the capacity of youth religious literacy as a preventive effort to overcome intolerant behavior. Technically, implementing community service activities is carried out through informal sharing activities discussing various contextual problems experienced by most members. The selection of problem topics was chosen based on the closeness of the topic to the members and the interest of the topic for discussion through a social and religious perspective approach. Through this activity, it is hoped that it will be able to increase the capacity of religious literacy to overcome the behavior of religious intolerance in society.

Abstract

Kesenian Dongkrek merupakan seni tradisi yang berasal dari Kabupaten Madiun yang dilakukan masyarakat setempat sebagai bentuk tradisi mengusir tolak bala. Kesenian ini menjadi identitas Kabupaten Madiun yang perlu dilestarikan dan diperkenalkan kepada generasi muda melalui dunia pendidikan. Salah satu upaya untuk melestarikan Kesenian tersebut dengan melibatkan siswa ke dalam kegiatan Kesenian Dongkrek. Secara khusus penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji strategi kebudayaan yang dilakukan SMP Negeri 1 Balerejo Kabupaten Madiun dalam melestarikan Kesenian Dongkrek melalui kegiatan ekstrakurikuler. Landasan teori pada penelitian ini menggunakan teori strategi kebudayaan oleh Van Peursen. Metodologi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Informan pada penelitian ini merupakan guru pembina Kesenian Dongkrek, kepala sekolah, dan anggota tim Dongkrek dari siswa SMP Negeri 1 Balerejo. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada tahap mistis masyarakat percaya untuk mengusir tolak bala harus melakukan Kesenian Dongkrek, namun ada beberapa masyarakat yang menganggap hal tersebut adalah musyrik. Kemudian, pada tahap ontologis masyarakat dan lembaga pendidikan mulai memperkenalkan Kesenian Dongkrek sebagai simbol warisan budaya daerah. Tahap fungsionalis masyarakat mulai mengembangkan Kesenian Dongkrek menjadi seni pertunjukkan. Temuan pada penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi sumber referensi penelitian selanjutnya dan menjadi materi bahan ajar terkait budaya Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengalaman dan keputusan mahasisiwi berhijab perokok dalam menentukan upaya manajemen kesan ketika di ruang publik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berbasis kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi pengalaman sadar dari perempuan berhijab perokok, khususnya mahasiswi melalui penggalian makna secara mendalam mengenai upaya manajemen kesan yang dipengaruhi oleh pengalaman dan keputusan dalam menjalani hidup sebagai perokok. Hasil daripada penelitian ini ialah diperoleh beberapa pengalaman dalam memutuskan diri untuk menjadi seorang perokok yang diantaranya melalui pengaruh teman sebaya, pengaruh keluarga, keputusan secara pribadi serta alasan untuk menghilangkan stress akademik. Mengenai prasangka buruk, mayoritas informan juga meyakini adanya hal demikian. Terlebih mereka mengenakan hijab dalam keseharian, sehingga membuat mereka harus melakukan manajemen kesan dalam menjalankan kebiasaan merokok terutama ketika di ruang publik. Manajemen kesan ditunjukkan secara teoritis melalui konsepsi dramaturgi yang terdiri dari ranah front stage dan back stage. Pada front stage ditunjukkan informan dengan menghindari kebiasaan merokok mereka ketika orang tua, kemudian ketika di ruang publik tertentu seperti tempat yang ramah keluarga, serta lingkungan kampus. Sedangkan pada back stage, mahasiswi berhijab perokok atau informan merasa lebih leluasa menunjukkan keterbukaan diri mereka ketika bersama teman-teman terdekat, bahkan beberapa informan terkadang melepas hijab untuk menunjukkan sisi keterbukaan diri sebagai perokok.

Abstract

Batik is one of the handicrafts that has high artistic value which has been passed down from generation to generation by the ancestors of the Indonesian nation since the Majapahit Kingdom and continues to be preserved today. However, we have discovered the reality that currently there are still many people who do not fully understand the meaning or philosophy behind batik motifs. Through this, it is necessary to have an educational process for the community, one of which can be carried out by the batik industry. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview regarding how the educational process carried out by Kampung Batik Kauman, especially Batik Gunawan Setiawan, is to provide a comprehensive understanding of batik to the public. This research was conducted in Surakarta, namely in Kauman Batik Village, precisely in Gunawan Setiawan Batik. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a case study approach. The results showed that there were several educational processes carried out by Batik Gunawan Setiawan, such as creating a batik gallery, conducting batik exhibitions and holding batik training. Furthermore, the process of batik education in the community is analyzed using Structural-Functional Theory - Radcliffe Brown as a countermeasure to tensions. As he stated that culture is not to satisfy individuals but to fulfill the social structure of society and emerge to overcome tensions such as theft of cultural identity due to the lack of public concern regarding local culture.

Abstract

This study aims to illustrate the empowerment of household women through Women Farmers Groups (Kelompok Wanita Tani, KWT) in Sukoharjo District, particularly in Kampung Ngromo. Employing qualitative methods, the study seeks to understand how KWT acts as an instrument for enhancing women's welfare and social roles. Through observation, interviews, and thematic data analysis, this study found that KWT contributes not only to the economic sector through agricultural activities and product processing but also strengthens its members' social networks and self-confidence. KWT Hesti Makarti and Kumalasari in Sukoharjo District, emerging from community initiatives, focus on improving family economics and environmental sustainability. Their involvement in various trainings and local competitions demonstrates increased competence and environmental awareness. However, the study also finds that while KWT aids in social and economic aspects, there are limitations in fully implementing the concept of women's empowerment. Abstrak Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan tentang pemberdayaan perempuan Ibu Rumah Tangga (IRT) melalui Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) di Kecamatan Sukoharjo, khususnya Kampung Ngromo. Kajian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk memahami bagaimana KWT menjadi instrumen untuk peningkatan kesejahteraan dan peran sosial perempuan. Melalui observasi, wawancara, dan analisis data tematik, hasil penelitian mengungkap bahwa KWT tidak hanya menghasilkan kontribusi ekonomi melalui kegiatan pertanian dan pengolahan produk, tetapi juga memperkuat jaringan sosial dan kepercayaan diri para anggotanya. KWT Hesti Makarti dan Kumalasari di Kecamatan Sukoharjo muncul dari inisiatif komunal, berfokus pada peningkatan ekonomi keluarga dan kelestarian lingkungan. Keterlibatan mereka dalam berbagai pelatihan dan lomba tingkat daerah menunjukkan peningkatan kompetensi dan kesadaran lingkungan. Namun, studi ini juga menemukan bahwa meskipun KWT berkontribusi dalam aspek sosial dan ekonomi, masih terdapat keterbatasan dalam menerapkan konsep pemberdayaan perempuan secara menyeluruh.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the opportunities and challenges of Merdeka Belajar as a national education program for high school teachers nationally. Teachers’ problem in implementing Merdeka Belajar (Freedom of Learning) curriculum lacks understanding of the procedures. This happened because there was no structural explanation regarding the differences between the curriculum they had been running so far and Merdeka Belajar curriculum. Many problems arise when implementing the curriculum that the education they have been running has made students dependent. In this context, this study questions how high school sociology teachers’ opportunities and challenges in facing Merdeka Belajar curriculum in the fourth industrial revolution (industry 4.0)? This study aims to identify problems and strategies for teachers in facing the new paradigm of Merdeka Belajar. This study’s analysis is based on theories such as those from Neill, Rogers, Freire, Boal, Giroux, and Knowles to critically analyze the pedagogical paradigm of national education that teachers have used. This study uses Knowles’s theory of andragogy to explore the notion of Merdeka Belajar. This study’s qualitative research method includes observation of the teacher-student relationship and interviews with several high school teachers in Karanganyar, Central Java. Besides, document studies related to Merdeka Belajar program are also used to understand the policy context. This study found that teachers did not realize that they had been using a pedagogical paradigm (education for children) for high school-level children who had grown up. When they switched to Merdeka Belajar curriculum, they also did not know that the paradigm they should be using is andragogy (education for adults). In this situation, they improvised as best they could to implement Merdeka Belajar. The teachers only carry out orders from the school. However, the school is still trying to understand how it works based on structural orders without clarity. Students’ dependence on teachers has become the cause of teachers’ difficulty to move out of the pedagogical paradigm into andragogy. In this situation, the teachers tried to do their best to implement Merdeka Belajar program during the Covid-19 pandemic. Teachers and schools must also face all infrastructural barriers and socioeconomic conditions with limited online learning access.
