Abstract

Identification of groundwater potential through the characteristics of the aquifer layer is an important study. This is useful for knowing the availability of shallow groundwater in an area. Arjosari Village, Kalipare District, Malang Regency is an area that often experiences shortages in meeting daily water needs, especially during the dry season. The availability of groundwater at the research site is influenced by the area's topographical conditions, which range from flat to very steep. This study aims to identify the location of the aquifer and groundwater potential in Arjosari Village. This study uses the Schlumberger configuration to identify aquifers and groundwater. This method adheres to the basic principle that each rock layer has a different resistivity value. In addition to rock material type factors, the level of saturation and chemical composition in water affects the value of resistivity. The results showed that the aquifer characteristics and groundwater potential were different for each lithological condition, slope, soil type, and land use. In the research location, shallow aquifers were found less than 20 meters while there were also deep aquifers located more than 25 meters below the ground surface. Shallow aquifers can be used as a water source by the community, especially to meet their daily water needs. The results of this study are used for Geography learning on hydrological material.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of halal tourism transforms urban spaces into critical learning resources for Cultural Geography, yet empirical spatial data suitable for Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) remain scarce. This study evaluates the spatial potential of halal tourism in the urban core of Malang City, aiming to provide authentic didactic resources for fostering spatial literacy. Focusing on Klojen District as a "Living Geography Laboratory," the research utilized a purposive sampling approach to select Kauman and Kiduldalem Villages as representative study nodes. The methodology combines the ACES Model scoring to assess pedagogical readiness and Nearest Neighbor Analysis (NNA) within a GIS framework to visualize spatial patterns. The results demonstrate that Malang City possesses significant potential as an educational resource, supported by a mean ACES score of 73. Spatially, the analysis confirms a "Clustered" distribution pattern for both places of worship (T=0.08–0.1) and halal culinary outlets (T=0.10–0.4). From a geography education perspective, these findings validate the concept of Spatial Association, illustrating how cultural values (religion) dictate urban land use. The study concludes that the generated maps and spatial data serve as essential visual learning media. By analyzing these "Urban Halal Ecosystems," educators can effectively teach Spatial Thinking Skills, moving students beyond theoretical knowledge to analyzing real-world spatial interactions.

Abstract

The use of e-comics in social studies learning is gaining popularity due to their ability to convey concepts visually. However, students still face difficulties in understanding the material, as e-comic storylines are often not contextual and do not present real-world problems. This study aims to develop KOMIK ALAM, a website-based e-comic learning media focused on natural resource utilization for Grade VIII students at MTs Negeri 2 Malang City. The research employs an R&D method utilizing the Design Thinking development model, which encompasses four stages: empathize, define, ideate, and prototype. The study focused on prototype development without proceeding to the test stage. Validation from subject and media experts, as well as a readability test with students, indicated that KOMIK ALAM is highly feasible. KOMIK ALAM is expected to serve as a visual and interactive learning media that presents contextual content and real problems to support diverse learning styles and increase student engagement. Future research should examine its effectiveness through experimental methods.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by e-LKPD Liveworksheet on the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subjects at the elementary school level. Strengthening critical thinking is essential in supporting 21st-century learning, which requires students to analyze information, evaluate ideas, and solve problems independently. This research employed a quasi-experimental Pretest–Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design with 58 students, divided into an experimental and a control group. Critical thinking skills were measured using a validated and reliable ten-item multiple-choice test. Data were analyzed for normality and homogeneity, and an independent t-test and N-Gain calculations were performed using SPSS version 22. The findings indicate that the PBL model supported by e-LKPD Liveworksheet significantly improved students’ critical thinking skills, evidenced by a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05) and an average N-Gain score of 0.6179 in the medium-high category. These results demonstrate that integrating PBL with digital worksheets encourages active, contextual, and technology-enhanced learning. The study concludes that e-LKPD–assisted PBL is an effective and innovative strategy for enhancing elementary students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The development of digital technology in education has encouraged the birth of learning innovations that are more interactive, contextual, and meaningful. A professional teacher is required to have four competencies, namely pedagogical, professional, social, and personality. Of the four competencies, personality competencies occupy a central position because they are the foundation for building character, integrity, and role models for students. This research aims to 1) develop an experiential learning–storytelling-based e-module for social-emotional strengthening and 2) test the feasibility of an experiential learning–storytelling-based e-module for social-emotional strengthening. The research method used is the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The validation results showed that the e-module was appropriate (80%) and practical (83.5%). This e-module is effective in fostering social sensitivity, communication skills, self-reflection, as well as emotional and collaborative skills. Thus, it serves as a more meaningful and interactive learning innovation, while strengthening the balance between academic competence and the personality of prospective professional teachers. With this approach, prospective teachers are not only equipped with theoretical knowledge, but also reflective skills and empathy that are essential in building humanistic educational relationships. Storytelling as a learning method also encourages the creation of a learning atmosphere that is fun, communicative, and relevant to the context of students' lives.
