Abstract

Indeks literasi wakaf nasional tahun 2020 menunjukkan literasi masyarakat Indonesia masih rendah.

Abstract

Indonesia Law No. 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Assurance requires that by 2019 halal certification should be effectively implemented for food and beverage products, as well as service products related to both. Out of the 1.6 million micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), only 10 percent have been halal certified. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the perceptions of culinary business owners regarding intention to register for halal certificates. Theory of Planned Behavior will be modified and implemented in preparing the frameworks of the dependent-independent variables. Using partial least square method, 200 sample of culinary producers -owners and managers- in Bogor were studied. Intention of producers is found to be significantly influenced by trust. Trust is also found to be sensitive to functional factor and subjective norm. Trust is also found to be determining attitude, together with functional factor and perceived behavioral norms. Trust is also significant in mediating the effect of perceived behavioral norms to intention, and also in mediating the effect of subjective norm to intention. The population of this study is the MSMEs culinary producers in Great Bogor Area, West Java, Indonesia. Only the respective owners and managers of the responding businesses were the main respondent. Similar research should be done for other types of halal product in order to generalize the results. This research modify TPB in setting the framework of determinants for halal certification intention. Variables added to the original TPB framework are trust and functional factor. This result concludes that trust is crucial in the effort to increase the number of halal certified products in Bogor. The halal certification authorities would have basis to review their policies, procedures, and technical guidelines for halal certification process. This study could be extended in terms of object and other potential determinant variables. Literatures related to halal certification has limited exposure to producers’ motivation for halal certification

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is often associated with obesity, which can lead to chronic inflammation. Sleeve gastrectomy (SG) is a common treatment for obesity. Combining SG with omentoplasty, might help reducing inflammation in pancreatic beta cells. However, there is limited research regarding the combined effects of SG and omentoplasty in type 2 DM (T2DM). This study was conducted to fill this gap by evaluating the impact on body weight, insulin resistance, glucagon expression, and levels of interleukins (IL)-1, IL-6, and IL-10 in obese rats with type II DM.METHODS: An experimental study was conducted on 18 obese Wistar rats with DM that were randomized into: control, T1 (SG), and T2 (SG + omentoplasty). SG involved the surgical removal of a portion of the stomach to reduce its size, while omentoplasty utilized the omentum to target inflammation in pancreatic beta cells. Venous blood samples were taken from subjects one day before and ten days after the intervention to measure the biomedical parameters with various methods. Data was statistically analyzed using paired t-tests for pre-test and post-test differences, and Post Hoc tests or Mann-Whitney tests for hypothesis testing.RESULTS: All rats were confirmed to have obesity and DM according to the Lee index and blood glucose levels. T2 group exhibited a significant decrease in body weight, homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) values were lower, and glucagon expression, IL-1, IL-6, and IL-10 levels were significantly greater compared to both control and T1 groups.CONCLUSION: The combination of SG and omentoplasty significantly improves inflammation and insulin resistance in obese rats with T2DM.KEYWORDS: diabetes mellitus, sleeve gastrectomy, omentoplasty, inflammation, obesity

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the factors that cause the insignificant development of sharia banking performance in Indonesia. This research focuses on identifying practices that are not purely sharia as the causal factors that hinder the development of sharia banking. The population in this research is Sharia Commercial Banks (BUS) registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in the 2014-2018 period. The data obtained was analyzed using multiple regression with panel data. The results of this research indicate that murabahah financing and profits from transactions denominated in foreign currency have a negative effect on the performance of sharia banking. Financing murabaha proven to increase Non-Performing Financing (NPF), in addition, transactions denominated in foreign currency are proven to reduce Return on Assets (ROA), as well as increase Operating Expenses, Operating Income (BOPO) and NPF of sharia banking. Meanwhile, non-halal income has no effect on sharia banking performance. The implication of this research is that sharia banking must improve operational practices that are not purely sharia to make them pure sharia. The two regulators, namely the OJK and the government, create a more conducive environment so that sharia banking is able to implement operational practices in accordance with sharia principles.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know what strategies BMT Nahdhatul Ummah Cooperative uses to word off the Emok Bank movement and to better understand the Islamic law’s view of the Emok Bank. The method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, one that gives direct thought and gives descriptive description. The data in this study is obtained through interviews, documentary, observation, and library studies. The results of this study show that BMT Nahdhatul Ummah Cooperative’s which in turn blocked the Emok Bank movement is more focused on implementing sharia, providing socialization, teaching cooperative members, using system for lightweight produce and security, products vary especially by products and door to door services. In practice, the bank’s use of a joint loan system in return causes many problems, whether internal or external conflict and the interest benefits only one side. According to the Islamic view, it is because the Emok Bank uses the interest system on its loan and has more negative effects than positive effects. So this Islam forbids it according to what God says in the al-Quran and what the prophet prophets in his hadis.
