Abstract

Tenaga pendidik di perguruan tinggi sebagai pilar yang diharapkan membangun kualitas penelitian, sudah seharusnya memiliki tanggung jawab yang tinggi pada permasalahan yang dihadapi bangsa ini. Permasalahan ketidak orisinalan penelitian pada tingkat mahasiswa sangat banyak ditemukan. terkadang pihak dosen tidak menganalisis secara seksama keorisinalan penelitian mahasiswa bimbingannya.  Para mahasiswa sebagai insan peneliti sedini mungkin dapat dicegah agar terhindar dari sikap-sikap plagiat. Oleh karena itu perlu mengembangkan suatu model perkuliahan yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir riset mahasiswa dari konteks mata kuliah yang diembannya. Salah satu keuntungan bagi universitas Cenderawasih adalah melimpahnya sumber daya bahan alam yang sangat potensial untuk diteliti. Model perkuliahan kimia bahan alam sering tidak memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan penelitian dilingkungan pendidikan kimia, karena sebahagian besar topikk-topik penelitian, bahan eksperimen laboratorium mahsiaswa tidak mendukung adanya penelitian yang unggul dibidang kimia bahan alam yang seharusnya dapat bermanfaat bagi pelaksanaan perkuliahan. Berdasarkan situasi dan kondisi perkuliahan,  permasalahan yang dihadapi dunia pendidikan khususnya bidang penelitian, kekurang mampuan meneliti oleh insan peneliti (khususnya mahasiswa), dan kelimpahan sumber daya potensi penelitian, maka tim peneliti ingin menegmbangkan suatu model perkuliahan dibidang kimia bahan alam yang berbasis etno-brainstorming problem solving decision making (E-BPSDM) untuk dapat meningkatkan berpikir riset pada mahasiswa, dan mencegah sikap plagiat. Pemilihan mata kuliah kimia organik bahan alam sebagai konteks materi penelitian ini, didasarkan pada kelimpahan sumber daya bahan alam berhasiat  Papua, untuk diangkat menjadi bahan acuan pengembangan berpikir riset mahasiswa, melalui pengembangan bahan ajar kimia organik bahan alam berbasis indikator berpikir E-BPSDM, sebagai buku acuan perkuliahan. Memberikan tugas-tugas dengan melakukan penelusuran bahan alam berkhasiat  Papua dengan pendekatan-pendekatan etnosains pada masyarakat pemegang hak wilayat. Dalam hal ini semua perangkat intervensi untuk pengembangan model perkuliahan KOBA berbasis EBPSDM seperti instrumen pemahaman konsep, kuesioner, dan bahan lieratur telah tervalidasi dan layak untuk dilanjutkan pada tahap intervensi.Keywords:      Pengembangan model perkuliahan, Kimia Organik Bahan alam, E-BPSDM.

Abstract

Solving the synthesis problem of organic compounds requires the understanding of certain organic chemical concepts. Students need to integrate organic chemical concepts to analyze the synthesis stage of organic compounds. Therefore, purposed of this research is want to find the difficulties possessed by students in solving organic synthesis problem. The participants of this research are 14 students of chemistry education in one state university in Papua, Indonesia. The type of this research is descriptive research. The research using multiple choices with reasoning test and essay test as the instruments, that consist of 6 items of multiple choices and 3 essay items. The results analyze by percentage and described. In this research, students are given issues concerning to the concepts of organic chemistry and the synthesis of organic compounds. The result shows students' understanding on the concept of functional group of organic compound is 79%, organic compound structure is 57%, organic stability is 22%, electrophile and nucleophile is 36%, while the concept of reagent, required condition and related product stereochemistry of organic compound less than 20%. It shows students having more difficulties in the concepts of reagent, required condition and related product stereochemistry of organic compound.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan penalaran logis pada mahasiswa calon guru kimia. Kemampuan penalaran logis ini terkait dengan kemampuan yang mereka miliki dala menyelesaikan soal-soal tes kemampuan penalaran logis. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada mahasiswa calon guru kimia yang terdapat pada salah satu universitas negeri di Papua. Penelitian eksplanatori merupakan desain yang digunakan pada penelitian ini. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terhadap kemampuan penalaran logis mahasiswa diketahui untuk kemampauan penalaran proporsional mahasiswa yang mencapai tahapan ini memiliki persentase terbesar sebanyak 75% dan yang paling rendah adalah penalaran probabilitas sebesar 46,88%. Untuk kategori penalaran logis, diketahui kemampuan penalaran logis mahasiswa Pendidikan kimia meliputi tiga (3) kategori penalaran logis yaitu kemampuan berpikir formal yang paling tinggi persentasenya sebesar 75%. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian diketahui masih ada mahasiswa yang memiliki level kemampuan berpikir konkret dan transisi sebesar 12,5%. Perlu dilakukan penelitian selanjutnya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir logis mahasiswa yang masih berada pada level konkret dan transisi.

Abstract

Banyak penemuan tak terduga (kebetulan) memiliki dampak mendalam dalam pembelajaran sains. Berdasarkan tipologi serendipity dapat dikompilasi menjadi serendipity murni dan pseudo serendipity. Selain itu, Serendipity murni jika kita dikaitkan dengan penalaran ilmiah diketahui bahwa itu cenderung terjadi sesuai dengan inferensi induktif, inferensi abduktif, sedangkan kebetulan semu sebagian besar terjadi oleh inferensi deduktif. Oleh karena itu, berdasarkan penalaran ilmiah, kebetulan dapat dikelompokkan menjadi: 1) Kesempatan yang muncul dari kesimpulan induktif; 2) Serendipity yang berasal dari kesimpulan deduktif; dan 3)   Serendipity yang muncul dari inferensi abduktif yang menggarisbawahi konstruksi teori berdasarkan fakta. Kata kunci : Serendipity murni, Pseudo serendipity, Penalaran ilmiah

Abstract

ABSTRACTThere is a pattern change that occurred in the world of education as a result of the development of Society 5.0 and the existence of the Covid-19 Pandemic caused changes in chemistry lessons provided by teachers. This makes chemistry teachers not only able to carry out learning offline but teachers must also be able to carry out online learning. Learning in the form of practicum which is often carried out offline also needs to be modified in its implementation so that it can be carried out online. To overcome the difficulties for prospective chemistry teachers to carry out online practicums, training is provided in using the Virtual Chemistry Laboratory application. The stages in this training consist of preparation, implementation and evaluation. The implementation of this training provides positive knowledge about the use of the Virtual Chemistry Laboratory application and a positive influence for prospective chemistry teachers to be able to carry out learning using practical methods more effectively for students.  ABSTRAKAdanya perubahan pola yang terjadi dalam dunia pendidikan sebagai dampak dari berkembangnya Society 5.0 dan adanya Pandemi Covid-19 menyebabkan terjadinya perubahan pada pembelajaran kimia yang diberikan oleh guru. Hal ini membuat guru kimia tidak hanya dapat melaksanakan pembelajaran secara offline saja namun guru juga harus dapat melaksanakan pembelajaran secara online. Pembelajaran dalam bentuk praktikum yang sering dilakukan secara offline juga perlu dimodifikasi dalam pelaksanaannya agar dapat dilaksanakan secara online. Untuk mengatasi kesulitan calon guru kimia dalam melaksanakan praktikum online, diberikan pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi Virtual Chemistry Laboratory. Tahapan dalam pelatihan ini terdiri dari persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Terselenggaranya pelatihan ini memberikan pengetahuan positif tentang penggunaan aplikasi Virtual Chemistry Laboratory dan memberikan pengaruh positif bagi calon guru kimia untuk dapat melaksanakan pembelajaran dengan metode praktik dengan lebih efektif bagi siswa.

Abstract

Chemistry laboratory in Senior High School (SMA) is one of the facilities used to support chemistry learning. With the presence of a chemistry laboratory in school, students will better understand the material by doing practical activities. For that, it is also necessary to pay attention to work safety in the laboratory related to the arrangement and maintenance of the laboratory. For that, community service activities in the form of training on laboratory arrangement related to the materials and equipment in the laboratory have been carried out at SMA Pembangunan Yapis 6 Keerom. The implementation activities have gone well and have a positive impact on learning activities in the chemistry laboratory at the school.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the needs and strategies for developing Papuan context-based literacy teaching materials in preparation for the National Computer-Based Assessment (ANBK). Following a systematic literature review method, this study analyzed journal articles, reference books, policy documents and research reports published in the 2019-2024 timeframe. The results showed three main findings: (1) the condition of literacy in Papua requires a socio-cultural context-based approach, not just technical reading and writing skills; (2) the implementation of ANBK in the 3T (Frontier, Outermost, Left Behind) areas of Papua faces specific challenges related to technological infrastructure, teacher readiness, and student understanding of the context of the questions; (3) the development of effective teaching materials needs to integrate three aspects, namely the local context that accommodates Papuan cultural wisdom, pedagogical approaches that support learning independence, and a continuous formative evaluation system. This study recommends the development of teaching materials that integrate national curriculum standards with local Papuan contexts to increase the effectiveness of ANBK preparation.

Abstract

The training is descriptive research that describes the results of implementing the Virtual Chemistry Lab for all prospective chemistry teachers, as well as general science skills. The research subjects for this topic are second and third year chemistry students who have completed basic chemistry courses. This activity lasted for two days and began with the introduction stage of the Chemcollective Virtual Chemistry Lab software, then continued with the implementation stage, especially the application of the use of the Virtual Chemistry Lab and evaluation of its implementation. The results obtained show that students' ability to apply software is quite good and their ability to acquire general scientific skills is around 80% and student responses are very positive at 89%.

Abstract

The local wisdom of the indigenous people of the Byak tribe of Kampung Yendidori in utilizing the leaves of red hibiscus (the local name of the leaves "Penbrike") as an herb for mothers after childbirth shows rich empirical knowledge and is relevant to modern chemical concepts. This research aims to integrate an ethnographic perspective based on a mental model in describing the cultural significance of this practice and explaining the content of active compounds in these plants through macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic level approaches. This type of research is qualitative with an ethnographic approach based on mental models. The results obtained show the sacredness of the use of "Penbrike" leaves. The community believes that treatment is effective if it is carried out by the clan or the person appointed to inherit its use. The results of a literature review show that the main content in its leaves is alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, steroids, saponins, phenols, proanthocyanidins. The active compounds in this plant function as powerful antioxidants that help reduce oxidative stress and postpartum inflammation, some accelerate hemostasis and wound recovery, and some provide vasoconstriction and protein binding effects and help stop bleeding. However, based on the results of other literature reviews, it was found that hibiscus leaves contain anti-fertility compounds, so further research is needed. These studies can serve as a basis for the development of ethnoscience-based chemistry learning models and further research on ethnopharmaceuticals.
