Abstract

The presidential and vice-presidential elections in 2024 have gained multiple controversies due to the violation of the constitution by Gibran Rakabuming Raka during his run as vice-presidential candidate. The violation is related to the age limit that defies the constitution.This violation becomes the subject and source of the main problem. This research aims to find out what are the comments from the followers of Kompas.com and Kumparan.com on Instagram on the posts about Gibran during the multiple presidential/vice-presidential debates. The data sampling is conducted in the two social media accounts since both accounts have more than one million followers and the data posted is recognized to be accurate. The theory used is the Framing Analysis from Robert N. Entman which, in the analysis process, uses four steps of analysis: defining the problem, estimating the source of the problem, creating a moral decision, and emphasizing problem-solving. The findings of the research show that the main source of problem of this candidature is the violation of the constitution by Gibran since he has not reached the candidature age limitation of 40 years old. The violation of age limitation becomes a pressure point that anything that Gibran did during the debate process is related to the violation of ethics. Gibran is considered to have violated ethics during the presidential/vice-presidential debates, among them : using gimmicks considered as bringing down, mocking, insulting, and impolite, such as moving his hands and body when looking for Mahfud MD’s answers, alongside spewing statements mocking his opponents, The solution offered for violation of ethics by Gibran or other candidates is by reporting them to The General Election Supervisory Agency (BAWASLU) if there are any fraud or foul play conducted by any candidates of the election.

Abstract

Educative-transformative refers to the nature or characteristics of an educational process that is transformative. Transformative education focuses on profound changes in how a person thinks and acts, encouraging critical and reflective learning. One source of educative-transformative values can be found in the literary work, the novel *Madame Kalinyamat* by Zhaenal Fanani. Here, the source of educativetransformative values is literature, specifically a novel that addresses various life, economic, political, and socio-cultural issues arising from the competition for the throne in the Kingdom of Demak.This research aims to elucidate the transformative educational values found in Madame Kalinyamat and to describe its relevance as teaching material for the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesian subject. Qualitative methods are used in this research. Data collection methods include note-taking, reading, and literature review. Dialectical analysis is part of the data analysis process. The research results identified several transformative educational values in Zhaenal Fanani's novel Madame Kalinyamat, including the religious value about a wife's loyalty to her husband based on devotion to God, moral and character values such as discipline, independence, firmness, and affection, as well as social values emphasizing healthy interpersonal relationships without demeaning others, exemplified by Queen Kalinyamat's relationship with her attendants. Additionally, the novel highlights gender equality between men and women in various aspects of life.

Abstract

The rapid change in today’s society forces higher education to adapt to it and transform to prepare their graduates for the future, which entails regulating minimum language proficiency levels for a graduation requirement in universities. This study aims to investigate university students’ English proficiency level to revisit English language requirements at higher education institutions. To do so, this study used simple descriptive research using a TOEFL Prediction test administered to 400 university students at the University of Riau. The score was converted to the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR) to investigate whether the scores are relevant to the university’s needs. The results show that the majority of students (N=258) have achieved the A2 CEFR level (Basic User – way stage). This suggests that it has fulfilled the minimum requirement set by the university. However, this is unlikely to reflect the objectives envisioned by the institution. Therefore, recommendations aroused from the findings will be provided in this research.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the andragogical approach, social support, and community participation in accelerating stunting reduction in Sibuak Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency. The objectives of the study are to assess the levels of these three factors and to analyze their influence on stunting reduction efforts. Specifically, the study aims to (1) evaluate the extent of the andragogical approach applied in stunting reduction, (2) measure the level of social support provided, (3) assess the level of community participation, and (4) determine the effects of social support and community participation on the andragogical approach in the context of stunting reduction. To do so, this study employs a quantitative design with a sample of 126 fertile couples from a population of 183 in the village. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to determine central tendencies and inferential statistics to explore relationships between the variables. The results show a significant positive influence of social support on the andragogical approach, accounting for 75.1% of the variance. Community participation also had a significant positive influence, explaining 73.7% of the variance. Additionally, combined social support and community participation had a significant impact on the andragogical approach, with a total effect of 75.3%. The findings suggest that enhancing social support and encouraging community participation are crucial for strengthening the andragogical approach in reducing stunting. These insights can inform policymakers and health practitioners in designing more effective stunting reduction programs.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to examine the effect of self-compassion on emotional intelligence in grade XII students at Sman 1 Seberida, Indragiri Hulu Regency. Self-compassion indicators (X) include Self-kindness, Common humanity, Mindfullness, while emotional intelligence (Y) indicators include self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, and self-motivation. A quantitative approach was used with a population of 271 grade XII students, and a sample of 74 students selected using purposive random sampling techniques. The results of the analysis showed a significant effect of 4,2% between self-compassion and emotional intelligence. This shows the importance of self-compassion in shaping emotions in grade XII students at SMA 1 Seberida. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh self-compassion  terhadap kecerdasan emosional pada siswa kelas XII di Sman 1 Seberida, Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu. Indikator self-compassion (X) mencakup Self-kindness, Common humanity, Mindfullness, Sedangkan kecerdasan emosional (Y) Indikatornya mencakup kesadaran diri, pengaturan emosi, empati, dan motivasi diri. Pendekatan kuantitatif digunakan dengan populasi 271 siswa/siswi kelas XII, serta sampel sebanyak 74  siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive random  sampling. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya pengaruh signifkan sebesar 4,2% antara self-compassion terhadap kecerdasan emosional. Hal ini menunjukkan pentingnya self-compassion untuk membentuk emosional pada siswa kelas XII di SMA 1 Seberida.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to explore the motivations of vocational high school (SMK) students in pursuing higher education in fields that are not aligned with their original vocational majors. The research focuses on two students from SMK Negeri 1 Perhentian Raja who continued their studies in non-linear majors at the university level. A qualitative approach with a case study method was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with students, parents, and a guidance counselor. The findings reveal that students’ motivations to choose non-linear majors are influenced by internal factors such as interest in a new field, desire for self-development, and personal satisfaction. Additionally, external factors like career prospects, environmental influences (family and peers), social status, and financial survival strategies also played significant roles. These results indicate that student motivation is complex, shaped by both rational and emotional considerations. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) dalam melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang perguruan tinggi dengan memilih jurusan yang tidak linier dengan bidang keahlian saat di SMK. Fokus penelitian ini adalah pada dua siswa SMK Negeri 1 Perhentian Raja yang melanjutkan studi ke program studi yang berbeda dari jurusan semasa SMK. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dengan siswa, orang tua, dan guru bimbingan konseling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi siswa dalam memilih jurusan kuliah yang tidak linier didorong oleh faktor internal seperti minat terhadap bidang baru, keinginan untuk mengembangkan diri, serta kepuasan pribadi. Selain itu, faktor eksternal seperti prospek karir, pengaruh lingkungan (keluarga dan guru), status sosial, serta strategi bertahan secara finansial juga memengaruhi keputusan mereka. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa motivasi siswa bersifat kompleks dan dipengaruhi oleh berbagai pertimbangan rasional dan emosional.

Abstract

Abstract: This study explores the implementation of character education in developing discipline among autistic children at Sekolah Kak Seto Pekanbaru. The primary focus is on the role of tutors in applying character values through approaches tailored to each child's individual condition. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation. Informants were selected using purposive sampling, consisting of two key participants: a tutor and a shadow teacher who directly assist autistic students. The results indicate that character education is implemented through habitual strategies such as arriving on time, obeying school rules, completing assignments on schedule, and using appropriate language. Tutors adopt methods such as modeling, routine-building, positive reinforcement, and individualized strategies. Although challenges such as communication barriers and varying student abilities were encountered, character education proved effective in fostering discipline when applied consistently and with empathy. Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengkaji implementasi pendidikan karakter dalam membentuk kedisiplinan anak autis di Sekolah Kak Seto Pekanbaru. Fokus utama terletak pada peran tutor dalam menerapkan nilai-nilai karakter melalui pendekatan yang disesuaikan dengan kondisi masing-masing anak.. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi sedangkan penentuan informan menggunakan teknik  purposive sampling sebanyak 2 informan inti yaitu tutor dan shadow teacher yang secara langsung membimbing anak autis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter diterapkan melalui strategi pembiasaan seperti datang tepat waktu, patuh terhadap tata tertib, mengumpulkan tugas tepat waktu, dan menggunakan bahasa yang baik dan benar. Tutor menggunakan pendekatan keteladanan, rutinitas, penguatan positif, serta penyesuaian individual. Meskipun terdapat kendala seperti keterbatasan komunikasi dan perbedaan kemampuan siswa, pendidikan karakter terbukti efektif dalam membentuk kedisiplinan apabila dilakukan secara konsisten dan empatik.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the implementation of audio-visual media by educators in the learning process at the Play Group (Kelompok Bermain/KB) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Riau (FKIP UNRI). The background of this research is the importance of using varied and engaging learning media to stimulate the development of early childhood, especially in today's digital era. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects were educators teaching at KB FKIP UNRI. The results showed that educators used audio-visual media as a supporting tool to increase children's interest and concentration in learning. The media used included educational videos, children's songs, and illustrated animations. The implementation process was carried out through group viewing activities interspersed with simple discussions and hands-on practices. Supporting factors in the use of audio-visual media included the availability of equipment, institutional support, and students’ enthusiasm. Meanwhile, obstacles faced included limited time, technical issues, and dependence on electricity. Overall, the use of audio-visual media had a positive impact on creating enjoyable and interactive learning experiences for early childhood students. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan media audio visual oleh pendidik dalam proses pembelajaran di Kelompok Bermain (KB) FKIP Universitas Riau (UNRI). Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah pentingnya penggunaan media pembelajaran yang variatif dan menarik dalam menstimulasi perkembangan anak usia dini, terutama dalam era digital saat ini. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah pendidik yang mengajar di KB FKIP UNRI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media audio visual digunakan pendidik sebagai alat bantu untuk meningkatkan minat dan fokus anak dalam pembelajaran. Media yang digunakan antara lain video edukatif, lagu anak, dan animasi bergambar. Proses penerapannya dilakukan melalui kegiatan menonton bersama yang diselingi diskusi sederhana dan praktik langsung. Faktor pendukung penerapan media audio visual meliputi ketersediaan alat, dukungan dari lembaga, serta antusiasme peserta didik. Sementara itu, hambatan yang dihadapi antara lain keterbatasan waktu, gangguan teknis, dan ketergantungan terhadap jaringan listrik. Secara keseluruhan, penerapan media audio visual memberikan dampak positif dalam menciptakan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan interaktif bagi anak usia dini.

Abstract

Abstract: Abstract: This study aims to determine: 1) To find and analyze how high the level of discipline character of students of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru. 2) to find and analyze how high the level of student activity in extracurricular activities of tapak suci SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru. 3) to obtain data on the influence of activeness in extracurricular activities of tapak suci on the discipline character of students of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru. This type of research is ex-post facto with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were members of tapak suci SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru as many as 83 tapak suci members. The sampling technique used Simple Random Sampling. This selection was due to the homogenous demographics of the study, namely students who participated in extracurricular tapak suci at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru, using the Slovin formula, the sample was 69 tapak suci members. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of activeness in extracurricular activities of tapak suci on the discipline character of students of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru, amounting to 35,6% with a low interpretation. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) Untuk menemukan dan menganalisis seberapa tinggi tingkat karakter disiplin siswa SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru. 2) untuk menemukan dan menganalisis seberapa tinggi tingkat keaktifan siswa dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler tapak suci SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru. 3) guna memperoleh data pengaruh keaktifan dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler tapak suci terhadap karakter disiplin siswa SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru. Jenis penelitian ini bersifat ex-post facto dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah anggota tapak suci SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru sebanyak 83 anggota tapak suci. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Simple Random Sampling, pemilihan ini dikarenakan demografi penelitian homogeny yakni siswa yang mengikuti ekstrakurikuler tapak suci di SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru, dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin, maka sampel 69 anggota tapak suci. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh keaktifan dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler tapak suci terhadap karakter disiplin siswa SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru, sebesar 35,6% dengan tafsiran rendah.

Abstract

Literacy and numeracy skills are important foundations in the learning process at the primary education level. Literacy includes not only the ability to read and write, but also the understanding and effective use of written information. Meanwhile, numeracy involves the ability to use basic math concepts in everyday life. Although crucial, the results of international assessments such as PISA show that Indonesian students' literacy and numeracy skills are still low. To address this, various policies have been implemented, including the implementation of the National Assessment and the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. This paper presents a narrative literature study with a descriptive-qualitative approach of 35 SINTA and international indexed journal articles from 2020-2025. The results of the study show that effective strategies in improving literacy include the use of picture storybooks, contextual learning, digital technology, and cross-subject literacy. Numeracy improvement is helped by manipulative media, contextual approaches such as PMRI and digital-based educational games. Supporting factors such as teacher training and parental involvement play an important role, while key challenges include limited resources and teacher competencies. This study suggests the integration of innovative and collaborative approaches in learning design.
