Abstract

The development of technology and industry is currently being followed by increasing demand from the industry for mining or mineral materials, one of which is tin. Indonesia as the second largest tin producing country in the world plays a very important role in the development of technology and industry in the world. In Indonesia, tin mining is carried out by several companies, one of which is PT Timah (Persero) Tbk. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the KIP 17 dredger system is 77% and the critical components obtained are the shaft and joint on the pump. The results of the analysis using Fishbone diagrams show that the quality of bolts and nuts and sealsused is not good. With the results of the study, it is recommended to increase personnel, especially in maintenance activities, and to improve the quality of nuts, bolts, and seals so as not to cause water to enter which can damage core components. Keywords—Mining, FMEA, Dredger

Abstract

Panel surya dapat mengubah energi matahari menjadi listrik, Penggunaan panel surya masih memiliki kendala, salah satunya adalah efisiensi daya keluaran yang masih rendah. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan efisiensi daya keluaran panel surya adalah dengan mengatur temperatur panel surya. Temperatur panel surya yang terlalu tinggi akan mengurangi efisiensi panel surya, sehingga diperlukan sistem pendinginan untuk menjaga temperatur panel surya tetap pada temperatur yang optimal. Variasi laju aliran pada tubular cooler serta pelapisan kaca film digunakan pada penelitian ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh tubular cooler dan kaca film pada panel surya terhadap daya keluaran, efisiensi maupun temperatur yang dihasilkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental dengan menggunakan sistem pendingin tubular cooler dan kaca film pada panel. Pengambilan data dilakukan selama 6 hari dikondisi luar lapangan. Tingkat kegelapan kaca film divariasikan dan membaginya menjadi dua kelompok penelitian. Pada penelitian pertama digunakan kaca film 0% dan variasi laju aliran 1,2 L/menit, 1,6 L/menit dan 2 L/menit. Pada kelompok penelitian kedua menggunakan kaca film 20% dan variasi laju aliran 1,2 L/menit, 1,6 L/menit dan 2 L/menit. Hasil penelitian pada kelompok pertama menunjukkan panel surya mengalami penurunan temperatur terbesar hingga 11,69%. Penuunan temperatur yang terjadi, menghasilkan peningkatan daya keluaran hingga mencapai 31,88% dibanding panel tanpa pendingin. Pada penelitian kelompok kedua, penggunaan kaca film 20% sangat efektif dalam menurunkan temperatur panel hingga 15,84%, tetapi mengalami penurunan daya keluaran. Penurunan ini disebabkan karena adanya pengurangan intensitas matahari yang diterima oleh panel.

Abstract

Ketidakstabilan perekonomian akibat pandemi Covid-19 semakin dirasakan dalam kehidupan masyarakat Indonesia khususnya sektor rumah tangga. Konsumsi rumah tangga, sebagai penopang utama perekonomian melambat secara signifikan, dimana mempengaruhi kinerja industri dan usaha mikro, kecil dan menengah. Seperti halnya terjadi pada mitra yaitu kelompok pedagang warung makan lesehan yang berada di Jl. Jawa sekitaran Universitas Jember. Menurunnya daya beli masyarakat, masih diberlakukannya protokol kesehatan yang mengharuskan sistem perkuliahan dilakukan online serta menurunnya pendapatan masyarakat sangat berdampak pada penjualan makanan dan mengubah pola konsumsi. Peternakan lele dengan menggunakan sistem Budikdamber yang menggabungkan antara beternak lele dengan Hidroponik sayuran kangkung dapat menjadi salah satu solusi untuk menunjang perekonomian di kala pandemi Covid-19. Sistem Budikdamber (Budidaya ikan dalam ember) plus akuatik ini adalah membudidayakan ikan dan sayuran dalam satu ember yang merupakan sistem akuaponik (polikultur ikan dan sayuran). Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah diharapkan sistem budidaya ikan dan sayuran ini dapat meningkatkan ekonomi masyarakat dan menjaga ketahanan pangan dikala pandemi. Metode pelaksanaan berupa pembinaan dan pelatihan dari akademisi Universitas Jember. Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilaksanakan direspon dengan baik oleh masyarakat terlihat dari antusiame dan peran aktifnya dalam pembuatan wadah dan media tanam Budikdamber.

Abstract

The population growth in Indonesia from 270 million in 2020 to 279 million in 2024 has increased LPG consumption, potentially leading to future fuel shortages. The top-lit updraft (TLUD) gasifier stove using renewable biomass materials, offers a sustainable alternative. Biomass such as bagasse and sugarcane peel can be optimized into charcoal briquettes with high calorific value and low emissions. The calorific value of briquettes can be further enhanced by blending other high–calorific biomass materials. This experimental research focuses on testing the calorific value of raw bagasse and sugarcane peel before carbonization, as well as briquette mixtures (70:30, 50:50, 30:70) using a bomb calorimeter. The fuel briquettes are tested by operating the TLUD gasifier stove, measuring performance in terms of water boiling time (WBT) and flame characteristics. Results show that the 30:70 bagasse-to-sugarcane peel composition has the highest calorific value (6,242.292 cal/gram), followed by the 70:30 composition (6,094.753 cal/gram) and the 50:50 composition (5,657.935 cal/gram). The 30:70 ratio also achieved the longest flame duration (119 minutes 32 seconds), the highest combustion chamber temperature (570.2°C), and the greatest flame height (11.468 cm). The TLUD stove demonstrated an efficiency of 56.41%, with a char weight of 61 grams and a water temperature increase from 28.4°C to 90.4°C in 10 minutes 45 seconds. These briquettes met the SNI 01-6235-2000 standard, which requires a minimum calorific value of 5000 cal/g.

Abstract

Heat energy is generally only used by humans for heating an object and then heat wastefully into the environment without being converted into other energy. This study aims to find out how to utilize waste heat from 6U type refrigerator condensers by using thermoelectric generator modules. This study uses an experimental method that is used to compare the performance of a thermoelectric generator to convert waste heat from a condenser to a variation of 120cm2, 96cm2, and 72cm2 heatsink area. In the study taken every 5 minutes for 2 hours this results in a declining value. The variation of the 120cm2 heatsink area produces a temperature difference of 12.4oC - 9.4oC, the output power is 0.00119 Watts - 0.00072 Watts, and produces an efficiency of 0.014% - 0.011%. In testing the variation of 96cm2 heatsink area, it produces a temperature difference of 8.1oC - 5.3oC, the output power is 0,00055 Watt - 0,00025 Watt, and produces an efficiency of 0,010% - 0,007%. In testing the variation of the 72cm2 heatsink area it produces a temperature difference of 6.9oC - 4.5oC, the output power is 0,00042 Watts - 0,00019 Watts, and produces an efficiency of 0.009% - 0.006%. Of the three variations of the heatsink area that have been tested, the variation of the 120cm2 heatsink area produces the best results compared to other heatsink area variations.

Abstract

Indonesia still relies on the use of energy from non-renewable sources, especially oil and coal. However, the supply of energy from fossil sources is decreasing. The energy conversion process in solar panels causes an increase in temperature, especially in conditions of intense sunlight and hot weather. High temperatures can accelerate the degradation of materials in solar panels. Therefore, a cooling system needs to be developed to lower the temperature of the solar panels to produce electricity efficiently. This study aims to examine how the efficiency of solar panels can be affected by cooling fluids. The experimental method is used by setting the solar panels at an angle of 30°. Data is collected during sunny weather conditions with sunlight levels above 2000 lux. The solar panel used is a 20 WP monocrystalline type. The recorded data includes several parameters, namely current, voltage, light intensity, and solar panel temperature. The results indicated that solar panels with cooling had a lower surface temperature compared to solar panels without cooling. In addition, cooled solar panels have a higher efficiency than uncooled solar panels. Using a cooler with a certain discharge on the surface of a solar panel can increase efficiency significantly. Abstract

Alkaline Fuel Cell (AFC) is a green energy conversion tool that converts chemical energy into electrical energy through electrochemical reactions. This research aims to analyze the effect of potassium hydroxide (KOH) concentration variation in electrolyte solution on the AFC performance, using nickel and manganese catalysts. The research methods include experiments using various KOH concentrations to determine the optimal concentration to produce the best AFC performance. The voltage and current produced are measured, as well as the calculation of the electrical power and efficiency of the AFC. The results showed that KOH concentration has a significant influence on the performance of AFC. It was found that the optimal KOH concentration produces maximum electrical power and energy conversion efficiency. The highest alkaline fuel cell performance was found at 70% KOH concentration. In addition, the use of nickel and manganese catalysts was shown to improve the stability and efficiency of AFC. The result makes an important contribution to the development of AFC technology, supporting global efforts towards cleaner and more sustainable energy use. The findings also provide a basis for further innovations in AFC design and materials, as well as their potential in practical applications such as electric vehicles and portable power plants

Abstract

Biodiesel predicted to replace diesel fuel in the future that comes from the transesterification process of plant oils, animal fats, or used oils. One of the potential raw materials is nyamplung seeds because they are scattered in Indonesia, easy to cultivate, and bear fruit throughout the year [1]. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of mixing pure diesel fuel and nyamplung biodiesel with the fuel composition B0, B20, B30, and B100 on the spray tip characteristics penetration, spray angle, and sauter mean diameter.This study focussed on simulation. The simulation method is carried out to predict the distribution and mean diameter of droplet using commercial fluent software. Fuel spray is carried out in free air with an injection pressure of 15 MPa, fuel temperature 28.2 ℃ and free air temperature 30.1 ℃. The spray process was taken at 6.25 ms and then the fuel spray characteristics were measured using the ImageJ application.The results of testing the fuel spray characteristics indicate that the amount of biodiesel content in the fuel is 20-100%. It can increase the length of spray tip penetration about 0.7-4.9%, a decrease in spray angle of 9.2-32.1% and the sauter mean diameter value increased by 20.1-84.6%. It caused by increasing the amount of biodiesel content in the fuel which results in an increase in the value of density, viscosity and surface tension of the fuel.

Abstract

Abstrak: Jumlah domba di Kabupaten Jember pada tahun 2020 sebanyak 83.029 ekor. Mitra kami “Lereng Mujan” berlokasi di Desa Klungkung, Jember. Anggota mitra 26 orang dengan jumlah ternak 456 domba dan setiap peternak memiliki 7-35 ekor. Berdasarkan diskusi, mitra memiliki tiga permasalahan yaitu permasalahan teknologi pengolahan pakan hijauan, teknologi bank pakan, dan recording. Domba mitra diberikan pakan hijauan langsung tanpa pencacahan sehingga ternak kesulitan mencerna dan banyak sisa makanan. Pada musim kemarau pakan domba berkurang sehingga gizi domba tidak dapat dipenuhi. Belum diterapkannya recording ternak sehingga kerap terjadi inbreeding dan jumlah ternak tidak terpantau. Mitra diberikan pelatihan berupa skill penggunaan mesin cacah, pembuatan silase, dan recording domba melalui necktag. Setelah pelaksanaan pengabdian prosentase pemahaman pengoperasaian mesin cacah sebesar, pembuatan silase, pemahaman recording ternak, dan tingkat ketrampilan perawatan peralatan berturut-turut sebesar 89%; 81%; 78%; 75%. mitra mampu menghasilkan pakan dengan mesin cacah multifungsi berkapasitas 585 kg/jam. Dari penerapan teknologi silase dan recording didapatkan terjadi peningkatan pakan yang dicacah menjadi 3 sak per hari meningkat 300% . Kemudian 461 domba telah diberikan necktag . Produksi pakan silase sebanyak 65 sak.Abstract: The number of sheep in Jember Regency in 2020 was 83,029. Our partner "Lereng Mujan" is located in Klungkung Village, Jember. There are 26 members with 456 sheep and each farmer has 7-35 sheep. Based on the discussion, the partner has three problems: forage feed processing technology, feed bank technology, and recording. Partner sheep are given forage feed directly without chopping so that livestock have difficulty digesting and a lot of food waste. In the dry season, sheep feed is reduced so that sheep nutrition cannot be fulfilled. Livestock recording has not been implemented so inbreeding often occurs and the number of livestock is not monitored. Partners are given training in the form of skills in the use of chopping machines, making silage, and recording sheep through necktags. After the implementation of the service, the percentage of understanding of the operation of the chopping machine, making silage, understanding livestock recording, and the level of equipment maintenance skills was 89%; 81%; 78%; 75% respectively. Partners are able to produce feed with a multifunctional chopping machine with a capacity of 585 kg / hour. From the application of silage and recording technology, it was found that there was an increase in chopped feed to 3 bags per day, or increase 300%. Then 461 sheep have been given necktags. Silage feed production was 65 sacks.
