Abstract

This is achieved by using the concept of marketing mix and Porter ?s Five Forces. The research of a hotel as a tourist attraction is conducted, because a hotel does not only serve as a place to sleep, rather does it serve a bigger role in the destination by giving the tourist an experience based on the product offered. This research uses both qualitative and quantitative data collected through observation and interviews from primary and secondary sources. The result of the research shows that the marketing of Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort as a tourist attraction is based on the target group, which is family. The brunch includes food, drinks and other facilities, such as a playground, pool, beach and entertainment. The promotion mostly happens through word of mouth and digital marketing. The biggest competitors are St. Regis, Westin and W Seminyak. Some substitute products are high tea, Sunday markets, beach clubs and even other tourist attractions. Suppliers and buyers have great powers, but this has not caused any problems for Sofitel Bali. Some advice to be given to the management of the brunch at Sofitel Bali is to always motivate the employees, adapt the product to meet the needs of the target group, to promote the pool and beach as a part of the brunch, to maintain a good relationship with suppliers and always be aware of competitors and take advantage of the uniqueness of the brunch at Sofitel Bali by specializing further in culture and life style. Abstract

This research examines the emergence of Airbnb as a sharing economy in Bali, Indonesia. Airbnb is a company whose websites allows ordinary people to rent out their homes as tourist accommodation. The focus on this article is to examine the tourists’ reviews on some properties owned by local Balinese people. These properties are located in eight regencies and one municipality in Bali. These reviews were collected by using a non-participant netnogrpahy approach and the samples are those who stay at nine accommodations in Bali. The finding shows that instead of commenting and stressing about the rooms and supporting facilities that tourists obtain while staying in these accommodation, surprisingly they were emphasising their experiences in living with locals and the friendliness of local Balinese people. This article also highlights some issues of trust and reputation in the Airbnb business model.

The researcher used Computer Assisted/Aided Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS) namely Nvivo in analyzing interviews from informants. In this study it also explains about how the meaning of the contents of an interview lose the meaning at the analysis phase when error occurs. Abstract

This research is conducted to determine the behavior and motivation of foreign students traveling in Bali, especially those studying at Udayana University. Samples taken are foreign students who join short semesters in the GoBali International Program, IBSN and BIPAS. This research is important since foreign student market is being underestimated because it is considered to have low purchasing power, however tourism stakeholders seem to forget that they spend more time in the place where they study. By staying longer in Bali, there are two benefits to be gained. The first benefit is to support the local economy, because these foreign students stay for 20 weeks, it means they will rent a place to live, transport and spend their money. The second benefit is that foreign students will most likely explore places that hold the potential to become tourist attractions in the future. Indirectly, this foreign student will help stakeholders in tourism in identifying appropriate places to be made as tourist destinations. The methodology used to obtain data is preceded by a focus group to identify what factors need to be explored more in relation to their behavior and motivations in Bali. Then, after the factors are obtained, data collection through questionnaires is conducted to then use factor analysis, cluster analysis and compile the highest average values based on cluster groups, so that answers will be obtained on the degree of interests and behavioral tendencies of foreign students traveling in Bali. Keywords: foreign students, behavior, motivation, travel, short semester, udayana.

Abstract

The opening of internet access to the public in 1991 pushed information into people's daily needs (Birger, 1997). Telephone manufacturers adopt the internet naturally in their products by launching mobile phones that have evolved into smartphones (Ira, 2012), allowing the internet to be accessed all the time. Economic aspects soon followed, assimilated in cyberspace into E-commerce that allows transactions of goods and services in cyberspace (Botha et at., 2008). In the world of tourism, the use of modern technology has become a necessity for many destinations to remain competitive and attractive to modern tourists. A form of new technology that is increasingly being used in public spaces is Augmented Reality (AR). Augmented reality technology allows users to receive information in the form of a display that contains a combination of real and virtual objects in the real world in real time. Technology is accessed via an app that is installed on a smartphone. This research aims to analyze the role of behavioral intention based on augmented reality applications in mediating the effect of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use on the actual system use in bamboo bar Sanur. An augmented reality prototype application was developed specifically for this research. Quantification of human behavior is possible by combining the branch of psychology theory of planned behavior with e-commerce based mobile computing context (Imielinski & Korth, 1996).
