Abstract

This study aimed to describe the violence contained in the grip of the novel Virgin Teens Military Pramoedya Ananta Toer. In the grip of the novel Virgin Teens Military Pramoedya Ananta Toer many interesting things to study, especially regarding violence. For that reason, the study of theory in this study included are: the nature of the novel, novel structure, analytical approach to fiction, sociology, literature, violence. This research is descriptive qualitative with research method, content analysis techniques. The data of this research is a form of the language that suggests violence in the novel Virgin Teens in the military's grip Pramoedya Ananta Toer which includes the trace elements based characterizations. The data source of this research is novel in the grip of the military in the Virgin Teens Pramoedya Ananta Toer the Popular Library published by Scholastic in 2001.Data were collected with the following steps: (1) read a novel repetitive elements associated with a mark, (2) inventory data by using invetarisasi format data. Once the data is collected, the data were analyzed using the following steps: (1) classify the data, (2) interpret data (3); interpret the findings and discussion of the existing problems, and (4) write a report based on the findings and discussion .

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to structure the text mantra pelaris dagangan, the supporting aspects of reading mantra pelaris dagangan, and the process of inheritance mantra pelaris dagangan. The data were collected by observation and taking a note the data. The techniques used are recording techniques and dikte technique, because some people say if the mantra is recorded, it will reduce the benefit of mantra itself. The research finding is the text structure mantra pelaris dagangan, the supporting aspects of reading mantra pelaris dagangan, and the process of inheritance mantra pelaris dagangan.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are (1) describe the reduction of the story of the novel Perempuan Berkalung Sorban which was adapted into a movie entitled Perempuan Berkalung Sorban, (2) describe the addition of the story of the movie Perempuan Berkalung Sorban which was adapted from the novel Perempuan Berkalung Sorban, (3) describe various form of changing or alterations of the novel Perempuan Berkalung Sorban which was adapted into the movie Perempuan Berkalung Sorban, (4) describe the function of alterations of the novel Perempuan Berkalung Sorban which has been adapted into the movie Perempuan Berkalung Sorban. Data of this research are parts of the story in the novel and movie Perempuan Berkalung Sorban which shows the reduction, addition, and various alterations that is measured from the novel Perempuan Berkalung Sorban. Sources of the data are the novel and movie Perempuan Berkalung Sorban. The data were taken through notetaking method. Research findings shows that there are 24 events, 9 characters, and 5 settings.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the (1) the structure of the text spells treatment, (2) supporting aspects spells reading of treatment, (3) the treatment of inheritance spells. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and recording. The results showed that the structure of the text spells treatment consists of: the opening section, part of the contents, and the end. Supporting aspects spells reading of treatment in Kenagarian Talu found: (1) time: free, wherever, (2) actors: shaman himself, (3) events: be seated, standing and kneeling, (4) where: in shaman home and patient home, (5) clothing: white clothes and free, (6) fixtures: medicine fit the type of illness, medicine is attached and drunk, (7) how to bring spell: slowly, cautiously, and whispered. Inheritance process of treatment spell is divided into two, (1) spells obtained from the parents,  but some are obtained from family members, such as brothers, and (2) generally passed on to children.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis bentuk kekerasan, penyebab kekerasan, dan dampak kekerasan dalam novel Rainy’s Days Karya Fita Chakra. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian sastra yang mengkaji masalah-masalah sosial yang ada di dalam karya sastra. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah novel Rainy’s Days Karya Fita Chakra. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah membaca dan memahami novel Rainy’s Days karya Fita Chakra, melakukan studi kepustakaan yang berkaitan dengan penelitian, dan mencatat data-data yang berkaitan kemudian menginventarisasi data. Teknik pengabsahan data yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah teknik triangulasi. Teknik triangulasi adalah teknik pemeriksaan keabsahan data yang memanfaatkan sesuatu yanglain di luar data itu untuk keperluan pengecekan atau perbandingan terhadap data itu. Perbandingan tersebut akan dilihat kembali dari berbagai sumber, metode, atau teori. Teknik penganalisisan data dalam penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: (1) mengklasifikasikan data, (2) menganalisis data, (3) menafsirkan (menginter-pretasikan) data, (4) menyimpulkan analisis data, (5) melaporkan hasil analisis. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut, Pertama, bentuk kekerasan dalam novel Rainy’s Days Karya Fita Chakra terbagi ke dalam bentuk kekerasan fisik, psikis, seksual, dan penelantaran keluarga. Kedua, penyebab kekerasan dalam novel Rainy’s Days Karya Fita Chakra terbagi ke dalam penyebab ekonomi, penyebab kultural, penyebab sosial. Ketiga, dampak kekerasan dalam novel Rainy’s Days Karya Fita Chakra adalah Cedera fisik berupa luka, Lebam, Patah tulang, Sakit punggung, Sakit kronis, Sulit tidur, Tekanan darah tinggi, Depresi, Kehilangan rasa percaya diri, Trauma, Merasa terasing, Kesepian, Merasa tidak berguna atau tanpa harapan, Malu, Stress, Suka marah.

Abstract

The author will discuss the inner conflict of the main character in the novel Neraka Dunia by Nur Sutan Iskandar in this study. This study aims to: (a) describe the form of inner conflict of the main character in the novel Neraka Dunia by Nur Sutan Iskandar; (b) describe the impact of the inner conflict of the main character in the novel Neraka Dunia by Nur Sutan Iskandar. In this study, the author uses literary research and qualitative research methods. The data that the author uses are in the form of character narratives, actions of characters, thoughts of characters, and exposure of the narrator. The author uses the novel Neraka Dunia by Nur Sutan Iskandar as a data source. Data collection and analysis were carried out using the following techniques: (a) reading, understanding, and knowing the contents of the novel; (b) taking inventory of data about plot, characters, and setting; (c) classifying data about the forms, causes, effects, and resolution of inner conflicts. The results of the data are as follows: (a) four forms of inner conflict of the main character in the novel Neraka Dunia by Nur Iskandar, namely the analysis of anxiety, fear, and heartache; (b) four effects of inner conflict, namely self-punishment, shame, curiosity, and guilt.

Abstract

The expression of prohibition in Javanese society is one part of folklore. There are fewer and fewer speakers of people's beliefs nowadays, because today is a modern era so many people don't believe or don't know about these expressions anymore. Therefore, the research aims to maintain the traditions that have existed from ancient times so that the next generation can know these traditions. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. This research was conducted in Kenagarian Sungai Duo, Sitiung District, Dharmasraya Regency. Kenagarian Sungai Duo is divided into two jorongs, namely Jorong Koto Agung Kanan and Jorong Koto Agung Kiri. The entries in this study are folk beliefs about the prohibition against pregnancy, childbirth and childhood in the Javanese community. Dharmasraya Regency. The informants of this research are natives of the Javanese community in Kenagarian Sungai Duo, Sitiung District, Dharmasraya Regency. In this study, the research instrument was the researcher herself named Melia Safitri with NIM 18017110. The data in this study were oral tradition data in the form of expressions of folk beliefs about pregnancy, childbirth, and childhood in the Javanese community. Dharmasraya Regency. The technique used is the triangulation techniques in the process of validating the data. In terms of structure, found 28 data with a two-part structure and seven data with a three-part structure. From all research results found 30 data that has a prohibition function, 7 data that has a function as a thickener of religious emotions or beliefs, 6 data that has a function as an imaginary projection system, 5 data that has a commanding or reminding function and 6 data that has a function as an educational tool.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) portraits of poverty and prostitution in the novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk by Ahmad Tohari, (2) portraits and prostitution in the novel Sunyi Di Dada Sumirah by Artie Ahmad, (3) comparison of poverty and prostitution in the novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk by Ahmad Tohari and Sunyi Di Dada Sumirah by Artie Ahmad. This type of qualitative research with descriptive method. The research data are in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences which are the problems of prostitution and problems through the narrator about the character, the character's speech, the character's actions, which are depicted in the novel. results Based on the research found the following data. First, in the novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk, the portrait of poverty is not fulfilled by clothing, food, and housing, low education, poor health, low income, and lack of employment opportunities. Acts of prostitution according to activities found and not recorded, according to the number of individuals and organized, according to the classification or location. The prostitutes in this novel get support from the surrounding environment. Second, in Sunyi Di Dada Sumirah's novel, the portrait of poverty shows that the lack of food and shelter, low education, and lack of employment opportunities force a person to become entangled in prostitution, not registered, organized, and located in entertainment venues/call houses, hotels, and karaoke places. However, the prostitute in the novel is not supported by the surrounding environment, which is considered a disgrace to life. Third, the comparison of poverty in the novel lies in people's awareness of the impact of poverty on life, Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk describes the poverty and destitution of the people of Dukuh Paruk not being a second burden as long as they can still be bullied, prostitution activities in this novel have environmental support. Meanwhile, in Sunyi Di Dada Sumirah's novel, it is always the root of the problem, so prostitution is their way of earning a living.

Abstract

Literary works in Indonesia is developing quite rapidly. However, with this development the author can give a new touch in his work. One of the developing literary works is poetry, both in terms of its structure and meaning. Research objectives: (1) describe semantic indirection, (2) describe heuristic and hermeneutic readings (3) describe matriks, models, and variant, (4) and show the hypogram from the poems of Januari, 1949 by Taufiq Ismail. This research is included in the type of literary research using descriptive methods because the sources are books and journals. The data are in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences from the Januari, 1949 poem by Taufiq Ismail. The sources of the data in this study were the poems in the book Sajak Ladang Jagung by Tufiq Ismail which was published by Pustaka Jaya. The data collection technique used is recording. The findings of this study are (1) semantic indirection, (2) heuristic and hermeneutic reading, (3) matriks, models, variant and, (4) hypogram from Taufiq Ismail’s Januari, 1949 poem.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) the forms of urban deviant behavior in Sabda Armandio's novel 24 Jam Bersama Gaspar; (2) the causes of deviant behavior in Sabda Armandio's novel 24 Hours with Gaspar; and (3) the impact of deviant behavior deviating urban society in the novel 24 Hours with Gaspar by Sabda Armandio. The research data is in the form of words, phrases, clauses and sentences that indicate the forms, causes, and impacts of deviant behavior in the novel 24 Hours with Gaspar by Sabda Armandio. The research instrument was the author himself, with the help of another instrument in the form of a recording sheet. Data collection techniques include reading and understanding novels, conducting literature studies, determining the main characters, and finding and recording data related to research problems contained in the novel. data analysis techniques, namely, identifying and classifying data. Then interpret the data and conclude the data analysis. The results of the study stated that in the novel 24 Hours with Gaspar by Sabda Armandio, forms of deviant behavior were found, which included (1) robbing or stealing, (2) extramarital sex, and (3) skipping school. (4) fanaticism, (5) followers of false religious teachings, (6) disobedience to parents, and (7) pedophilia. in the novel 24 Hours with Gaspar Karya Sabda Armandio, four factors are found that cause deviant behavior, which include: (1) family disharmony; (2) the expression of disappointment; (3) economic necessity; (4) the influence of the environment and the mass media. In the novel 24 Hours with Gaspar by Sabda Armandio, two impacts of deviant behavior are found: (1) criminality and (2) the fading of values and norms.
