Abstract

Restaurants often rely on traditional order-taking processes that are prone to delays, miscommunication, and human error. Earlier IoT-based electronic menus already introduced better order handling, but are limited by unidirectional communication and the scalability constraints of PHP + MySQL architectures. This research investigated the design and analysis of an MERN (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js) stack–based electronic menu, integrated with an Arduino Mega 2560 and ESP8266 module, to enable two-way communication between the client and server. The device was tested under varying Wi-Fi signal conditions, taking into account environmental factors such as distance, humidity, and obstacles. Results showed that Wi-Fi signal strength decreases linearly with distance and is attenuated by 6-7 dBm when passing through a concrete barrier, while high humidity (up to 95%) results in an additional 11-12 dBm reduction. Web application testing demonstrated the reliable data transmission of the MERN stack, which shows a striking difference compared to PHP + MySQL, outperforming it in scalability and processing speed. These results showed the advantages of MERN in supporting an interactive, scalable, and responsive electronic menu. Although measurements were based on averaged trials without complete statistical analysis, a promising approach was demonstrated in improving efficiency and reliability in restaurant environments.

Abstract

Healthy sleep lights that will be proposed for community service are the results of research in which the use of LED lights (Light Emitting Diode) is activated with a maximum power of 3 Watts, so that the power consumed is quite low. This healthy sleep lamp also has some uniqueness such as turning on and off with sound by utilizing applications installed on smartphones. This voice control application can also be used to vary the color of the light. This lamp can be turned on and off by touching the light nest by using a sensor system and also the color and brightness of the lamp can be adjusted using the RGB control application on the smartphone. Intensity test results for LED lights 112 - 996 (Weber / m2). The standard intensity limit for healthy bulbs based on H. Steve, H. Gaube and J. Winterhager is 3,000 (Weber / m2), so that meeting the intensity standard is an LED lamp. Our long-term goal is to develop research results into products that have economic value, facilitate students to develop creativity and innovation and create jobs by partnering with partners.

Abstract

Mesjid Sunnah Alhidayah dan Yayasan Al Mujahidah Sumatera Utara merupakan salah satu rumah ibadah dan sekolah yang terletak di kelurahan Sari Rejo Kecamatan Medan Polonia yang belum mendapatkan pasokan air bersih dari PDAM Tirtanadi. Masjid Sunnah Alhidayah dan sekolah yayasan Al Mujahidah menggunakan sumur bor untuk mendapatkan pasokan air yang digunakan untuk kebutuhan sehari hari. Masalahnya kondisi air yang diperoleh dari sumur bor berwarna kekuningan, keruh, dan berbau. Warna air sumur yang kekuningan, keruh dan berbau ini menjadi tak layak untuk digunakan apalagi untuk dikonsumsi, tetapi tetap saja warga menggunakan air sumur tersebut untuk keperluan ibadah (mandi dan berwudhu) tanpa melalui proses pengolahan atau penyaringan sama sekali. Implementasi ilmu pengetahuan teknologi di Mesjid Sunnah Alhidayah dan Yayasan Al Mujahidah yang akan dilakukan berupa teknologi alat penjernih air yang diintegrasikan dengan pompa air tenaga surya. alat penjernih air yang diintegrasikan dengan pompa air tenaga surya memiliki keunggulan tidak menggunakan bahan kimia karena hanya menggunakan filter berbasis karbon aktif, pasir zeolit, dan pasir manganese greensand, mengontrol air masuk dan air keluar secara otomatis, filter mudah dibersihkan, menggunakan tenaga surya sehingga ramah lingkungan dan menghemat biaya pembayaran listrik PLN. Implementasi ini dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah yang sedang dihadapi oleh masyarakat di Kelurahan Sari Rejo umumnya dan mesjid Sunnah Alhidayah serta Yayasan Al Mujahidah khususnya dalam proses penjernihan air, sehingga air dari sumur bor menjadi layak untuk digunakan bahkan untuk dikonsumsi.

Abstract

Sei Siarti Village, Panai Tengah District, Labuhanbatu Regency have problems in the form of limited clean water sources that are suitable for use. There are several potentials including peat water, drilled well water, and Barumun river water that crosses the village. The condition of peat water that does not comply with quality standards for water that is fit for consumption has a brownish color, high acidity, and the organic matter contained in peat water is high enough to cause an odor. The well water has a salty taste (high salt content) so that what has the potential is Barumun river water even though it has a cloudy color. The method used to purify cloudy river water is through the processes of coagulation (deposition), filtration (filtering), absorption (absorption), and adsorption (ion exchange). This water purifier is made using 2 tubes filled with silica sand, MGS, activated carbon, and zeolite sand so that the water produced is clear and fit for consumption and can be utilized by the surrounding community. The results obtained from this water purification are water that does not have a smell, taste, and is clear in color so that it is suitable for use by the surrounding community

Abstract

Society of Lingkungan VIII Kelurahan Gedung Johor, Medan City utilizes the Al-Buchari Mosque as a means of worshiping and gaining knowledge for the Muslim community. However, Al-Buchari Mosque still uses water containers to wash the hands of its worshipers in order to prevent the transmission of the Sars-Cov 2 virus, which is an increasingly worrying situation. Medan Johor District is a red zone area in terms of the spread of the Sars-Cov 2 Virus. Based on data from the Corona Pandemic Prevention Task Force, Medan City has had more than 1000 positive cases of Covid-19 in the city of Medan. This is due to the lack of public awareness of the importance of washing hands, maintaining distance, and wearing masks. One of the effective ways to prevent the transmission of the Sars Cov-2 virus is to create a sink that does not require us to hold it but control it with our feet. So that the spread of the virus through hand media can be avoided. With this non-contact hand washing, people who worship at the Al-Buchari Mosque will minimize the transmission of the Sars Cov-2 virus through hand media.
