Abstract

The objective of the study is to analyze the method of Badiuzzaman Sa’id Nursi to understand Hadiths in Kitab Rasail Al-Nur. The hadiths are mostly related to aqidah, charity motivation, and confusion (syubhat) between the materialist group and ahl kitab in understanding the hadith. The hermeneutic approach of the qualitative method is employed in this study in which both the objective aspect (hadiths in the kitab of Rasail Al Nur) and the subjective aspect (the thought background of Said Nursi) are analyzed. The data of the study is the hadiths in the Kitab  Rasail Al-Nur of Chapter One al-Kalimat, chapter two al-Maktubat, chapter three al-Lama’at, and chapter four Al-Syuat. Then the data is thematically analyzed by using the NVivo 12 and it is revealed that there are twelve methods of Said Nursi to understand hadiths in the book of Rasail Al-Nur, namely: i) Al-Din al-Imtihan (Religion is an exam); ii) Thabaqah Masail al-Islamiyah (Various issues in Islam have different levels and positions); iii) Ma’lumat Ulama Ahl al-Kitab (Information for ahl kitab Christians and Jews); iv) Al-Idraj (Insertion or Merging); v) Al-Ilham (Inspiration); vi) Al-Amtsal (analogy); vii) Al-Tasybihat al-Balaghiyah (rhetorical parables); viii) Hikmah al-Ikhfa’ (wisdom of hiding); ix) Wijhah al-Masail al-Imaniyah (some perspectives on some faith issues); x) Balaghah al-Irsyad (rhetoric art of giving guidance); xi) Al-Mutasyabihat (the resemblance); xii) Ikhtilaf Zawiyah al-Nazhar (different perspectives). The finding could be initial data for further analysis to study different issues in similar contexts.

Abstract

This research examines the effect of the implementation and implication of English as Medium of Instruction in Indonesian higher education institutions. It further examines the impact of EMI on educational outcomes, cultural identification, and the linguistic future. The study assumes both the positive and negative significance of the above measures. Following the qualitative methodology, the case study conducted semi-structured interviews with 30 participants, including 15 faculty members and 15 students, from three diverse universities in Indonesia. The diverse perspectives demonstrate both the positive and negative impacts of EMI. While the research finds a positive correlation between EMI implementation and English proficiency, as well as better global engagement, the study also exposes such hindrances to the EMI as the language proficiency barriers and the issues of cultural displacement and lack of equity. Apart from that, the fears related to the erosion of Bahasa Indonesia and the local identity are also due to the friction between culture preservation in globalization integration. As a result, the policy recommendations are developed with the idea to propose the measures of the transition to the EMI, which does not replace the national educational practices and values.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the experiences of women leaders in breaking gender barriers within the Islamic boarding schools’ leadership in Indonesia. In more specific, this study would identify the factors that have enabled them to overcome the barriers that have traditionally limited the participation of women in leadership roles, specific at this type of Islamic educational institution. A qualitative case study design was employed, and in-depth interviews were conducted with seven participants. The findings revealed that the participants faced a range of barriers, including patriarchal attitudes, lack of access to education, and lack of support from family and community. However, despite these barriers, the participants were able to overcome them and could ‘successfully’ manage to lead the pesantren through utilizing their agency, building networks of support, and most importantly by challenging the patriarchal norms. The findings of this study have important implications for promoting gender equality in Islamic boarding schools and similar patriarchal institutions. This research highlights the need to challenge patriarchal attitudes and policies and to provide women with access to education and support networks. Additionally, this research also emphasizes the need to recognize and address the ways in which different forms of oppression intersect and compound to create unique challenges for marginalized individuals, particularly women leaders in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

Depression is a severe dilemma in our society, a sense of bleakness, confusion, and overthinking. Due to this dilemma, many unruly arise in human life, and humans face many consequences; many people die due to this dilemma in the world. Nobody understands the seriousness of this dilemma, and no one even understands the psyche of depressed people, and cannot understand their feelings and emotions and consider them as a psycho person. The primary purpose of this research is to show the severity of this dilemma that how this dilemma brings disasters in human life, ruins the personality of a normal person, and makes them psycho in the eyes of society. We must highlight the seriousness of this dilemma to achieve better results and peace of mind and create a better society. So, this research explores the seriousness of this dilemma that destroys many people, and their lives become a sea of sadness, tension, and empty feelings. This study seeks to answer research questions that how does the severe dilemma of depression affects the people of the world. The goal is to analyze the demographics of this dilemma of depression and determine how we can get relief from this dilemma or how we can overcome the destruction of this dilemma.

Abstract

Kesenjangan akses terhadap pendidikan berkualitas antara masyarakat Jawa dan luar Jawa merupakan persoalan serius yang melanggengkan ketidakadilan sistemis. Di Pulau Jawa, daerah perkotaan mendapatkan manfaat dari pendidikan tinggi yang lengkap, dosen yang berkualitas, dan sumber daya pendidikan lainnya yang melimpah, sedangkan di daerah pedesaan dan terpencil sering kali mengalami hal yang sebaliknya. Para peneliti telah menyoroti isu ketidakadilan dalam pendidikan dari konteks, di antaranya, kurikulum, fasilitas dan kualitas dosen. Namun, tidak banyak yang melihat isu ketidakadilan ini dalam konteks program magang. Itulah yang menjadi kebaruan dari penelitian ini. Fokus kajiannya adalah pada perbedaan kinerja mahasiswa Program Magang Bersertifikat Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) dari perguruan tinggi dalam dan luar Pulau Jawa, dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Rubrik penilaian kinerja mahasiswa disusun oleh Tim MBKM instansi tempat magang yang meliputi student log book, tes akademik, formulir observasi, artikel, dan presentasi. Penilaian dilakukan oleh para mentor yang telah dilatih. Data penelitian berasal dari 144 mahasiswa baik perguruan tinggi negeri maupun swasta di dalam dan luar Pulau Jawa. 120 mahasiswa dari Jawa dan 24 dari luar Jawa. Uji independent T-test dilakukan untuk melihat perbedaan signifikan kinerja magang mahasiswa di DPR RI. Ditemukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai akhir yang signifikan antara kinerja magang mahasiswa yang berasal dari universitas di dalam dan di luar Pulau Jawa, dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa yang mengikuti program magang dari universitas di dalam Pulau Jawa. Penelitian ini menyoroti disparitas kualitas pendidikan dilihat dari program magang. Kajian ini merekomendasikan Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi, Sains, dan Teknologi RI untuk menghasilkan kebijakan afirmatif bagi mahasiswa luar pulau Jawa termasuk kebijakan program magang.AbstractThe disparity in access to quality education between regions within Java and those outside it perpetuates systemic inequality. While urban areas in Java benefit from comprehensive higher education, skilled faculty, and ample resources, students in non-Java regions often face significant limitations. This study uniquely examines this educational inequality through the lens of student performance in the Merdeka Campus’s Certified Internship Program (MBKM), comparing students from universities within Java to those outside. Using a quantitative approach, the research analyzed the internship performance of 144 students—120 from Java and 24 from outside Java—based on a performance rubric developed by the MBKM Team at their respective internship institutions. This rubric includes assessments from student logbooks, academic tests, observation forms, article papers, and presentations. Evaluations were conducted by trained mentors, and an independent t-test was applied to identify performance differences. Results indicated a significant disparity in final scores, with students from Java-based universities outperforming those from outside Java. This study highlights the need to address educational disparities in internship performance and recommends affirmative policies from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology to support students from outside Java, particularly in internship programs.

Abstract

Suhu air berperan sangat penting dalam campuran beton. Selain bereaksi dengan semen untuk membentuk pasta semen, air juga membantu mencampur bahan-bahan beton menjadi homogen dan merata, meningkatkan workability dan penggunaan suhu air yang tepat sangat penting untuk mencapai kekuatan beton yang optimal. Air menyebabkan reaksi hidrasi semen sehingga menimbulkan panas hidrasi. Hidrasi semen merupakan reaksi kimia yang menyebabkan pasta semen mengeras dan mengikat agregat menjadi satu kesatuan yang kuat. Oleh karena itu, variasi suhu air pada campuran beton dapat mempercepat maupun memperlambat proses hidrasi yang akan menentukan kekuatan beton. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penggunaan air panas pada campuran beton dapat mempengaruhi sifat mekanik beton, khususnya kekuatan tekan dan kekuatan lentur beton. Kedua sifat mekanik tersebut sangat penting dalam perencanaan struktur beton. Komposisi material semen, pasir dan batu pecah pada campuran beton direncanakan dengan mutu beton f’c 32,5 MPa. Sampel penelitian adalah beton yang proses pembuatannya di campur menggunakan air bersuhu 25oC, 50oC dan 100oC. Pengujian yang dilakukan meliputi uji tekan dan uji lentur. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa kuat tekan tertinggi pada beton yang menggunakan air bersuhu 50oC dan kuat lentur tertinggi pada beton yang menggunaan air bersuhu 25oC. Hasil perhitungan modulus retak menurut SNI 2847:2019 berbeda dengan hasil pengujian lentur di laboratorium, sehingga faktor modifikasi l perlu di koreksi. Penggunaan air panas dalam campuran beton dapat mempengaruhi proses hidrasi semen, yang berdampak pada kuat tekan dan kuat lentur beton.

Abstract

Islamic education teachers have significant duties and responsibilities in society. As outstanding individuals, teachers educate students in formal and non-formal schools. Furthermore, as members of society, teachers must be role models and examples as mentors in the community in realizing the ideals and goals of mutual progress (SDGs4). This study aims to find out what Islamic education teachers do as a form of real work in the community. This study uses a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. Data sources were obtained from fifteen informants through in-depth interviews selected using purposive sampling techniques. To strengthen the interview data, the author also conducted observations by directly participating in various real activities of the teachers who were the subjects of the study. All data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's thematic technique. The research findings show five activities carried out by Islamic education teachers in realizing ideals and mutual progress in the community. The five activities are: i) establishing learning communities for all segments of society, ii) actively participating in the management and development of houses of worship, iii) establishing literacy centers, iv) implementing environmental conservation programs, and v) collaborating to realize inclusive education. These five findings can serve as examples for Islamic education teachers in carrying out community-based work within society to achieve SDGs 4.
