Abstract

Students' ability for HOTS is critical to acquire. However, the PISA survey in 2018 showed that Indonesian participants were at level 1, and the national exam in 2018 indicated that 40% of students had an issue answering HOTS questions. The problem suggests that students solve questions requiring higher-order thinking skills, causing errors. Therefore, the study aimed to analyze student errors based on Newman's Theory in solving HOTS-based math story problems. The method applied for qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection involved 126 grade IX students using HOTS-based math story tests, interviews, and documentation. Students were grouped into three categories from the HOTS-based math story test results: students with good, medium, and low abilities. This step was to find the average and standard deviation of the scores obtained by respondents when completing the given test. Then three students were selected from each category as subjects. The results showed that as many as 50% of students misunderstood the questions, 20% made transformation errors, and 10% errors in reading, processing skills, and encoding. The high error rate of these students shows the poor ability of students to solve HOTS-based math story problems.

Abstract

Abstract:  The purpose of this study is to find out what are the obstacles for mathematics educators in implementing distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The method used in this study is a qualitative method using descriptive techniques. The research subjects in this study were mathematics educators at YAPIS Manokwari High School. Based on the results of the interview, the results of this study indicate that there are several obstacles in the implementation of distance learning. Constraints experienced in learning include human constraints where teachers are still not optimally using the applications used for the learning process. Some teachers are not proficient in using applications as a medium for learning.Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apa saja kendala pendidik matematika dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran jarak jauh dimasa pandemi COVID-19. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif. Subjek penelitian pada penelitian ini adalah pendidik matematika di SMA YAPIS Manokwari. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada beberapa yang menjadi kendala dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran jarak jauh. Kendala yang dialami dalam pembelajaran meliputi kendala manusiawi dimana guru masih belum secara maksimal menggunakan aplikasi yang digunakan untuk proses pembelajaran. Ada beberapa guru yang belum mahir dalam penggunaan aplikasi sebagai media untuk pembelajaran.

Abstract

One of the important components in educational evaluation is assessment. This study aims to develop an assessment instrument for PjBL-based learning in mathematics at a driving school in Manokwari district. The research method used by the researcher is research and development with a 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). This research procedure consists of this includes 4 stages, namely the stage of defining (define), design (design), development (develop) and dissemination (disseminate). The data collection technique used in this study is the method of observation, instrument validation, and interviews. The assessment instrument was validated with a content validity ratio approach, then its reliability was tested with the SPSS-assisted Cronbach Alpha test. Research Results a) The PTS Assessment Instrument for collaborative projects between subjects obtained an average of 3.67 from the validator. The average validation score is in the very good category. Based on the results of the validation, it can be concluded that the instrument to be used is valid. b) The reliability test of the PTS assessment instrument for the collaboration project between subjects in 7th grade boys and 7th graders obtained Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient values of 0.749 and 0.774, respectively, where both values were between 0.7 and 0.9 so that it could be concluded that the instrument to be used has high reliability.Keywords: Project Based Learning, Subjects Collaboration, Sekolah Penggerak, Research Instruments

Abstract

Di perairan Indonesia ditemukan tujuh spesies ikan Sidat, yaitu A. marmorata, A. celebesensis, A. borneensis, A. bicolor bicolor, A. bicolor pacifica, A. interioris dan A. nebulosa. Ikan Sidat (Anguilla marmorata) adalah salah satu spesies yang memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi dan telah menjadi komoditas tujuan eksport. Spesies ini banyak ditemukan di perairan Sungai di Indonesia termaksud di Sungai Prafi Kabupaten Manokwari, Papua Barat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi ikan Sidat dengan pendekatan morfologi dan genetik serta memahami hubungan genetic spesies A. marmorata. Metode BLAST di NCBI digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi sampel ikan Sidat. 31 Sampel penelitian teridentifikasi sebagai A. marmorata dengan nilai percent identity 100% dan query coverage 99%. A. marmorata yang ditangkap memiliki berat rata-rata sebesar 257.48 gr, panjang rata-rata yaitu 43.19 cm dan jumlah rata-rata ruas tulang ana dorsal sebanyak 18. A. marmorata yang berasal dari manokwari di rekonstruksi dengan dengan beberapa A. marmorata yang berasal dari berbagai negara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, A. marmorata dari manokwari berada pada satu klade yang sama dengan beberapa individu A. marmorata dari China, Brunei, Indonesia-Bali-Jawa Barat, Vietnam, Malaysia, Japang dan French Polynesia. Hal tersebut didukung oleh nilai jarak genetik antar populasi A. marmorata yang rendah yaitu 0%-0,4%. Rekonstruksi pohon filogenetik antar spesies Anguilla sp. menunjukkan bahwa A. marmorata berada pada clade yang sama dengan A. Nebulosa. Hal tersebut didukung oleh nilai jarak genetik yang rendah yaitu 3%. Sedangkan nilai jarak genetik tertinggi yaitu antar A. mossambica dan A. celebesensis (11,4%). Abstract

The waters of Bintuni Bay have abundant natural resources, especially aquatic biota. One of the aquatic biota with high economic value is the Jerbung shrimp (Penaeus merguiensis). Currently, information about the biological aspects of shrimp in the waters of Bintuni Bay is still very lacking. Specifically, the aim of this research is to examine the size structure, first caught size (L50%), infinity size (L∞), growth patterns, condition factors and gonad maturity level (TKG) of Jerbung shrimp in the waters of Bintuni Bay. The research method used is the survey method. The research was carried out from March to April 2023. The results showed that the average carapace length and weight of male shrimp were 4.6 cm and 14.8 gr. Meanwhile, the average shell length and weight of female shrimp are 5.4 cm and 25.8 grams. The L50% value of male and female shrimp is 5.3 cm and 5.8 cm, the ½ L∞ value of male and female shrimp is 3.4 cm and 3.5 cm. If L50% > ½ L∞ means the size of the shrimp caught is quite large. The growth pattern of male and female shrimp is negative allometry (b = 0.1035 and b = 0.7424). The condition factor values for male and female shrimp are 0.31 and 1.73. The results of TKG observations showed that 75.2% of female shrimp were in TKG I and II, meaning that 50% of the shrimp caught had not yet reached TGK III and IV at the time of the research.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis merupakan kemampuan individu dalam memecahkan atau menemukan jawaban suatu masalah matematis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada materi aritmatika di MTsS Pondok Modern dan Tahfidz Nurul Jannah. Prosedur penelitian ini dimulai dari pengembangan instrumen, pemberian soal tes, penentuan subjek, dan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diketahui bahwa analisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa di Kelas VII MTsS Pondok Modern dan Tahfidz Nurul Jannah berdasarkan indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah menurut Polya siswa dikategorikan menjadi tiga kelompok yaitu siswa dengan kategori tinggi, siswa dengan kategori sedang, dan siswa dengan kategori rendah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam pemecahan masalah matematis. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya latihan dan kebiasaan dalam mengerjakan soal pemecahan masalah serta kurangnya pemahaman terhadap soal. Kemampuan siswa dalam tahapan Polya meningkat saat mereka mampu membuat kesimpulan dari pekerjaan mereka. Pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan pendekatan Polya sangat penting untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa, membantu mereka mengembangkan langkah-langkah pengerjaan soal secara lengkap, dan memperluas wawasan yang dapat diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: The waters of Bintuni Bay have potential mangrove crab (Scylla sp.) resources. Mud crabs are aquatic biota that have high economic value. Information about the biological aspects of mangrove crabs in the waters of Bintuni Bay is still very minimal. This research aims to examine the size structure, growth patterns, condition factors and gon-ad maturity level (TKG) of mud crabs in the waters of Bintuni Bay. The research was carried out from May to July 2023. The research results showed that the average carapace width and weight of male mud crabs were 13.6 cm and 553.2 grams. Meanwhile, the average size of the shell width and weight of female mud crabs is 12.5 cm and 284.1 grams. The average size of mangrove crabs caught is included in the catchable category (KKP Ministerial Regulation No. 16 of 2022). The growth pattern of male mud crabs is isometric (b = 3.15), while the growth pattern of female mud crabs is negative allometric (b = 2.12). The condition factor values for male and female mud crabs are 1.01 and 1.03. The results of TKG observations showed that 78.4% of female crabs were in TKG I and II, meaning that 50% of the shrimp caught had not yet reached TGK III and IV at the time of the research.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas XI IPA III SMA N 2 Manokwari pada materi penerapan turunan berdasarkan teori Polya melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe teams games tournament (TGT). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam mengerjakan soal, siswa tidak mengacu kepada teori pemecahan masalah matematika menurut Polya secara sempurna. Terjadinya kelemahan ini disebabkan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT mengharuskan siswa mengerjakan soal dengan memanfaatkan waktu seefisien mungkin

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the interest in learning mathematics of twenty English education students at a university in West Papua. This research method is a qualitative research method using descriptive techniques. The procedure of this research starts from the development of the questionnaire instrument, the development of the interview instrument, the validation of the instrument, the distribution of the questionnaire, the determination of the subject, and the interview. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that the interest in learning mathematics of English education students based on indicators of student interest in learning mathematics is categorized into three groups, namely students who are not interested in learning mathematics, quite interested in learning mathematics, and interested in learning mathematics. Students in the category of the uninterested group have not been able to meet the indicators of interest in learning mathematics. Meanwhile, students in the moderately interested groups can fulfill three indicators of interest in learning mathematics: students' feelings of pleasure in mathematics, students' interest in mathematics, and students' attention to mathematics. Students from the interest group category can fulfill the four indicators of interest in learning mathematics: students' feelings of pleasure in mathematics, student interest in mathematics, student attention to mathematics, and student involvement in mathematics.

Abstract

The Hatam tribe is one of the sub-tribes of the Arfak tribe. This study aims to explore the numeracy culture of the Hatam Tribe spoken by the Hatam Tribe community who inhabit Nuhuwei Village, Ransiki District. This research is ethnographic. The techniques used for data collection are interviews, exploration, literature study, desk study, and documentation. Interviews and explorations were conducted with several elders who spoke the Hatam language in Nuhuwei Village. Literature and documentation studies were conducted by looking for other sources of information related to the previously existing Hatam language to obtain accurate results. The Desk Study was conducted to find out the mathematical patterns of the Hatam Tribe. The results obtained from this study are that mathematically, the counting patterns spoken by the Hatam people who inhabit Nuhuwei Village have different dialects from the speech of the Hatam people who inhabit other areas. Besides that, another finding is that the pattern of mentioning numbers spoken by the Hatam tribe inhabiting Nuhuwei Village correlates with the counting pattern on the Jarimatika. We call this latest finding related to counting using the Hatam language-based Jarimatika as Himatam (Calculating Using Jarimatika in the Hatam language). This finding shows that learning numeracy for elementary students in Nuhuwei Village can be done more easily using the Himatam Method.
