Abstract

This research aims to study the learning outcome animal ecology using cooperative learning team listening to the students of Biology Education. This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings. The subjects were students of semester V as many as 26 people. The research instrument used to collect data in this study is the observation sheet activities of student learning, observation sheet activities of lecturers and exam animal ecology. The results showed the average value of the final exam the first cycle is 68.3 with the percentage of completeness of 63.7 % and the average value of the final exam cycle II was 80.5 with a percentage of 87.5 % mastery learning.  The activity average of students in the first cycle 66.9 % in the second cycle an average of 83. 2 % of the student activity. This means that the average student activity in animal ecology learning through cooperative learning model Listening Team is progressing well and can increase the activity and learning outcomes of animal ecology. The implication of this research is the type cooperative learning listening team can be used in Biology Education student learning, especially in animal ecology

Abstract

This study aims to describe the increase in interest and student learning outcomes in science teaching in primary schools. Classroom action research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisted of two meetings with the various forms of energy and material use. Research subjects elementary school students grade IV No 20 Gunung Pangilun Padang Utara. The instrument of this study is the observation sheet student's interests, learning activities observation sheets, and achievement test students' interest in learning the instrument. The results showed that students' interest in learning science in one cycle is 64.4 percent, and in the second cycle of 82.2 percent. Student learning outcomes in a single cycle on average 63.5 and 83.5 in the two cycle becomes. Besides that, it also revealed that an increasing mastery learning students from one cycle is 45.8 percent and in the second cycle of 91.6 percent. Analysis of teachers in implementing learning activities in a cycle that is 79.1 per cent and 91.6 per cent of the second cycle. The use of models in the media can increase interest in science learning, learning outcomes and teacher activities . Therefore, the model can be used medium primary school teachers as one of the media in learning science . Besides, teachers also need to make a good plan in accordance with the science curriculum in elementary schools . Keywords : Interest and learning outcomes, media models, learning science

Abstract

This study focuses on describing the categories of teacher attitudes towards ICT, teacher skills using ICT and teacher skills to make ICTbased teaching materials, learn differences a) teacher skills using ICT in learning, b) teacher attitudes towards ICT, c) teacher skills to make ICT-based teaching materials based on the location of the school. This research was carried out on the science teachers Junior high schoolin West Sumatra with a total sample of 260 people.Sampling is done randomly in selected schools. Descriptive data analysis, and inference statistics are t-test.The results showed that teacher attitudes towards ICT were in the high category, the skills of teachers using ICT were in the moderate category and teacher skills in making ICTbased teaching materials were in the low category. The skills of teachers using ICT based on the location of the school have significant differences, meaning that junior high school science teachers are higher in ICT Skills, teacher attitudes towards ICT are also higher outside city Junior high schoolscience teachers, the skills of Junior high schoolscience teachers make ICTbased teaching materials based on school locations also significant difference.

Abstract

The focus of this study is to describe the difference of students' learning outcomes, in the subjec,t of environmental knowledge Between the application of STAD learning model with the application of demonstration, learning method. This experimental study was conducted on even semesters 2015/2016 and even semester 2016/2017. The research instrument uses test questions even semester 2015/2016 and even semester 2016/2017. Data analysis looks at the reliability and validity of the questions and test the difference , in learning outcomes, with t-tests. Additional instruments used as a tool for collecting research data is an interview with 5 students in every semester even. The results showed, that there were significant, differences (α = 0.05). The result of learning environmental knowledge between the application of STAD learning model with the application of demonstration learning method (Sig =0.043≤ α=0.05) STAD (78.3) whereas the mean learning outcomes of the demonstration learning method (83.2). Demonstration learning methods show higher learning outcomes compared to the STAD learning model. Based on interviews conducted on the students provide information that the demonstration method is more challenging and realistic and can be practiced directly about the material being studied. When the formation of small groups is an advantage of STAD type cooperative learning model. The implication that can be given in this research is demonstration learning methods in the learning of environmental knowledge, can be applied, by the teaching staff as one method that can provide good learning outcomes.
