Abstract

Environment is an importan issue and complex. The rate of population growth and developmentgreatly affects the quality of the environment in Manado City. Environmental quality is an environmentalcondition that can provide optimal carrying capacity for human survival in an area. Environmental qualityincludes water quality, air quality, and land cover quality. This study aims to analyze the EnvironmentalQuality Index in Manado City which includes the Water Quality Index, Air Quality Index, and Land CoverQuality Index. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. Measurement of water quality was carriedout in three major rivers in Manado City, namely the Tondano River, the Sario River, and the MalalayangRiver. From each river, measurements of water quality were carried out at two points, including theupstream and downstream areas with the measured parameters TDS, TSS, BOD, COD, and DO. Analysisof water quality using the Pollution Index (PI) method and then converted into the Water Quality Indexvalue. Measurement of air quality were carried out at three points, including office, transportation, andresidential areas with parameters measured as SO2 and NO2. Analysis of air quality using a calculation ofthe European Union (EU) model of Air Quality Index and then converted into an Air Quality Index value.Measurement of land cover quality is carried out by calculating the land cover index, namely measuring thearea of Manado City and the area of green land or forest using ArcGIS Software. The land cover value isobtained from the division between the area of green land or forest and the area of Manado City and thenconverted into the Land Cover Quality Index value. Analysis of Environmental Quality was carried out bycalculating the Environmental Quality Index in Manado City, namely the value of the Water Quality Index(30%), Air Quality Index (30%), and Land Cover Quality Index (40%).The quality of water in Manado City based on the parameter test showed a decrease in quality wherethe parameters of BOD, COD, and DO exceed the quality standards according to PP 82 of 2001 while thestatus of water quality in the mildly polluted category was based on KepMen LH 115 of 2003. The value ofthe Water Quality Index obtained 80. The Quality of Air in Manado City based on the results of monitoring, the highest values of SO2 and NO2 in the transportation area. Abstract

Indonesia has a variety of medicinal plants that are efficacious for preventing or treating various diseases. Each region has unique medicinal plants, such as in North Sulawesi, there are many medicinal plants with local names of "Jarak" (Jatropha curcas), "Jarak Merah" (Jatropha multifida), "Miana" (Coleus Scutellarioide), and "Sesewanua" (Clerodendron Squmatum Vahl). This research applies the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) method to identify the types of medicinal plants of North Sulawesi based on leaf images. Data was collected directly by taking photos of medicinal plant leaves and then using the augmentation process to increase the data. The first stage is conducting training and validation processes using 10-fold cross-validation, resulting in 10 classification models. Evaluation results show that the lowest validation accuracy of 98.4% was obtained from fold-4, and the highest was 100% from fold-2. The third stage was to run the testing process using new data. The results showed that the worst model produced a test accuracy of 80.91% while the best model produced an accuracy of 87.73% which means that the identification model is quite good and stable in classifying types of medicinal plants based on its leaf images. The final stage is to develop a web-based system to deploy the best model so people can use it in real-time

Abstract

Coconut (Cocos nucifera L.) known by many as the "tree of life is a leading agricultural commodity in North Sulawesi. Coconut is one of the most significant palm crops for both commercial and subsistence use worldwide. Airmadidi District has the potential for plantation land, especially coconut, which is indicated by the area of ??coconut plantation land in Airmadidi in 2021 of 3,373.13 Ha. This research aims to produce spatial mapping of coconut plantation in Airmadidi District using visual interpretation techniques; and to determine the area of ??coconut plantations in Airmadidi District. Visual interpretation method using on screen classification of satelite imagery SPOT 2022 obtained from SAS Planet.  Images were digitized with a geographic information system using ArcGIS 10.8.2 software. The results of the visual interpretation show a map of the distribution of coconut plantations spread across all villages in Airmadidi District, North Minahasa Regency. The total area of coconut plantations in Airmadidi District is 3 023 Ha. Tanggari village has the largest spread of coconut plantations, namely 870,460 Ha, while Sarongsong Satu village has the smallest area, only 2.24 Ha. There was a decrease in the area of coconut plantation during the period of three year which was 305,51 Ha.  The decline in the area of coconut plantations in North Sulawesi, especially in Airmadidi District, is thought to be caused by the conversion of coconut plantation land into residential or industrial areas.
