Abstract

This research aims to describe learning discipline, interest in learning and students’ mathematics learning during the covid-19 pandemic and to know presence or absence of a relationship between learning discipline and interest in learning with mathematics learning during the covid-19 pandemic on students grade XI IPS SMA Negeri 8 Mataram even semester in the academic year 2019/2020. This research is an ex post facto research. The population of this research were all students grade XI IPS SMA Negeri 8 Mataram is 194 students. While the sample was taken with a proporsional cluster random sampling technique is 66 students. The data was collected by using learning discipline questionnaire, interest in learning questionnaire, mathematics learning test, and interview. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the level of learning discipline of students in the very high category, interest in learning in the high category, and learning outcomes in the low category. The result of the study also showed that there was no relationship between learning discipline and interest in learning with mathematics learning during the covid-19 pandemic on students grade XI IPS SMA Negeri 8 Mataram even semester in the academic year 2019/2020, either individually or together.

Abstract

Vocational school students (SMK) are equipped with certain work skills so that later they can enter the labor market immediately after graduating from school. The ability to think critically is one of the skills needed in business and industry. Hence, it needs to be owned by SMK students. This study aimed to determine the level of mathematical critical thinking skills of SMK students. The research was conducted in one of the Vocational Schools in Mataram City. The research sample was 60 students in eleventh grade who were taken using a random sampling technique. The level of mathematical critical thinking skill is obtained through a mathematical critical thinking ability test. Furthermore, interviews were conducted to explore things that were not visible in the students' answers. The results of data processing addressed that the percentage level of mathematical critical thinking skills, namely 0% of students are in the very high level, 15% are in the high level, 25% are in enough level, 42% are in the low level and 18% are in the very low level. This means that more than half of the students have low mathematical critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Terdapat beberapa faktor penentu keberhasilan belajar mahasiswa di era new normal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji lebih jauh faktor-faktor penentu keberhasilan belajar mahasiswa pendidikan matematika di era new normal. Fokus penelitian ini pada kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan kemandirian belajar sebagai faktor-faktor penentu keberhasilan belajar mahasiswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah ex post facto. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 96 mahasiswa pendidikan matematika FKIP Universitas Mataram semester VII tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan kemandirian belajar, kemudian data prestasi belajar diambil dari IP (indeks prestasi) semester 6 tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Dilakukan uji signifikansi pengaruh variabel-variabel dependen terhadap variabel indepen secara parsial dan simultan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hubungan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dengan prestasi belajar mahasiswa dapat digambarkan melalui persamaan Y = 1,917 + 0.508 X1. Hubungan kemandirian belajar dengan prestasi belajar mahasiswa dapat digambarkan melalui persamaan Y = 2,179 + 0,318 X2. Hubungan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan kemandirian belajar terhadap prestasi belajar mahasiswa dapat digambarkan melalui persamaan Y = 1,482 + 0,385 X1 + 0,232 X2. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh signifikan secrara parsial maupun simultan antara kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan kemandirian belajar dengan prestasi belajar mahasiswa di era new normal.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the level and relationship of mathematical problem solving students based on the Adversity Quotient (AQ) level on year academic 2019/2020. The research metodology used was questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The results showed that the AQ level of 8th grade students was generally dominant at the moderate AQ level (camper), that is 23 students (71.88%) from 32 students who took the questionnaire. In solving mathematical problems according to the Polya stage, students who are at a high AQ level (climber) have moderate abilities at the stage of understand the problem, devise and carry out the plans to solve the problem, and having abilities with a low level at the stage of look back. Students at the moderate AQ level (campers) have moderate abilities at the stage of understand the problem, have good abilities at the stage of devise and carry out the plans to solve the problem, and have low levels of ability at the stage of look back. Students at a low AQ level (quitter) have moderate abilities at the stage of understand the problem, devise and carry out the plans to solve the problem, and having a low level ability at the stage of look back. Based on the Spearman rank, it was found that there was a relationship between the AQ level and the students' mathematical problem solving ability, but it was classified as very low and only had an effect of 1.21%. This is because the climbers have not been able to carry out all stages of Polya's problem solving well, the habits of students who only rely on memorizing formulas when facing math problems, and the habit of discussing when written tests take place which makes students unable to focus optimally in solving problems.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the mathematical creative thinking ability of MAN 2 Mataram students who have the adversity quotient of climber, camper, and quitter types in the quadratic function material. The type of research used is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The research instrument used was an adversity quotient questionnaire, a mathematical creative thinking ability test, and an interview guide. The research sampling technique used purposive sampling, obtained by class XI IPA MAN 2 Mataram where 4 students with climber type adversity quotient, 23 students with camper type, and 5 students with quitter type. All students were given a mathematical creative thinking ability test, and from each type of adversity quotient, 2 students were taken for interview. The results of this study indicate that the creative thinking ability of students who have the climber type adversity quotient gets an average of 58.33 in the creative category. Furthermore, the mathematical creative thinking ability of students who have the adversity quotient of the camper type obtained an average of 36.59 with the category of being quite creative. And finally, the mathematical creative thinking ability of students who have an adversity quotient of the quitter type gets an average of 10.00 in the non-creative category.

Abstract

This is experimental research. This research aims to examine the effect of cooperative learning based on ASSURE model on mathematic learning outcomes in class XI of MAN 2 Mataram. The population is entire students in class XI MAN 2 Mataram with XI Science-5 as experiment class and XI Science-4 as control class which is decided by cluster random sampling. The experiment class was divided into learning teams based on their learning style. The hypothesis test uses a separated variance t-test. Based on the hypothesis test we got that (1) There is a difference in the average of student’s learning outcomes that cooperative learning based on ASSURE model gets a higher score than direct method learning, and (2) cooperative learning model based on ASSURE takes significant effect on learning outcome that class with this model get higher gain-score category than direct method learning.

Abstract

The gamification method is a learning method that combines elements of learning and games. The gamification learning method uses the Kahoot application to capture things that interest students and inspire them to continue learning mathematics. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the gamification method in increasing student learning motivation in the Field Analytical Geometry course through the Kahoot application. This type of research is qualitative with a research method that is a survey. The survey was conducted through the provision of questionnaires to determine students' learning motivation after applying learning with the gamification method. The results of this study showed that (1) student learning outcomes before and after the gamification method was applied respectively were 64.13 and 83.56, (2) there was an increase in learning outcomes with a percentage increase of 30.3%, (3) learning the gamification method can increase student learning motivation with an average percentage after the action of 85.33% and is included in the very good category. This shows that learning with the gamification method is alternative learning that can increase student learning motivation, so it is hoped that variations in learning like this will make learning mathematics interesting and fun.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve teachers’ abilities to create video lessons that could be used either on online learning or in person. The activity's strategy was a workshop that mainly focused on working and creating video lessons after giving a brief explanation on how to produce the video. The workshop also involves pre and post-test to assess the improvement of participants’ competence. This activity resulted in video lessons uploaded on the Youtube channel, and participants’ assessment scores improved from 65,8 to 76,9. Therefore, teachers involved in this social service admitted that they benefit from joining the workshop as they are now able to create exciting video lessons that might raise students’ enthusiasm and motivation in the learning process.

Abstract

Elementary school teachers in labuapi group II have never made instructions for the use of props. Do not use instructions, props alone have never been made. Knowledge of the manufacture of props and instructions are very poorly obtained and the opportunity to learn is also minimal. The objectives to be achieved in this devotional activity are: (1) Improving the knowledge of the teachers of SD Cluster II in Labuapi Subdistrict about the concept of area area and the principle of area area can be built through the concept of broad immortality; (2) Improve the skill of making instructions for using props to determine the area of data building. Devotion activities are carried out through the deepening of the concepts and principles of the area, especially the parameters of determining the area by means of presentation, demonstration, simulation and practice of designing a broad principle model media, and discussions in working groups and presentations about the media and guidelines that have been designed and demontrasi how it is used. The training results are very effective, this is shown to be a significant average difference between pretest and post-test results. Community Service activities that have been conducted turned out to be very effective, namely a change towards significant improvement. This can be shown by the difference in the pre-test average of 4.08 with a post-test average of 7.35. The test result t shows that = 15,286 > ttab = 2.03 at the signification level of 5 %. This also means that knowledge of the area of flat build area and the skills of designing media and operational guidelines of teachers in Cluster II Labuapi Subdistrict increased convincingly as shown by the average change

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini menghasilkan set media peraga dan bantu geometri lengkap pedoman operasional penggunaannya. Media peraga yang dimaksud untuk membantu siswa SD yang masih berpikir kongkret dalam memahami konsep ukuran pada bangun datar dan bangun ruang  yang  abstrak. Konsep atau prinsip ukuran yang dimaksud adalah luas daerah poligon dan volume polyhedral dari bangun prisma, khususnya  prisma segiempat dan  prisma segitiga. Media peraga dengan  pedoman operasional dimanfaatkan secara simultan. Media yang  dikontruksi disesuaikan topik geometri di kelas tinggi. Media peraga berupa alat  peraga lengkap dengan petunjuk penggunaannya mengenai ukuran baik itu prinsip luas daerah maupun volume bangun ruang telah didisain 11 item alat peraga geometri untuk siswa sekolah dasar kelas tinggi. Alat tersebut meliputi alat untuk menentukan  rumus luas daerah  segitiga,  menentukan rumus luas daerah segiempatn (persegi panjang. jajaran genjang, trapesium, dan layang-layang),  menentukan rumus  luas daerah lingkaran, menentukan rumus volume prisma segitiga dan volume prisma segiempat ( balok, paralel epipedum), menentukan rumus luas permukaan balok dan untuk menentukan rumus luas permukaan kubus.   Dari hasil evaluasi 9 orang yang terdiri dari 3 ahli dan 6 praktisi disimpulkan bahwa alat peraga yang di desain lengkap dengan petunjuknya sangat layak. Dari hasil uji coba terbatas alat tersebut efektif  dan konsisten. Ini berati bahwa jika alat yang di desain dilengkapi dengan petunjuk penggunaan,  digunakan oleh dua guru untuk mengajar di kelas yang berbeda dengan dengan materi sama pada tingkatan sama, maka informasi yang disampaikan sama. Dari hasil penelitian ini disarankan bahwa 1) Bagi para guru SD yang menggunakan  alat peraga ini, sebaiknya memiliki pengetahuan yang mendalam tentang materi yang akan diajarkan 2) Para guru menggunakan bahasa yang mudah dipahami tetapi jangan sampai mengabaikan maknanya serta menggali prasyarat pengetahuan yang memadai.
