Abstract

The objective of the study was to assess the application of crop cultivation technology and productivity of paddy rice in Dumoga District, Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi Province. The research was conducted from November to December 2022. The research was located in Dumoga District, Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi Province. This research was qualitative research by conducting surveys and interviews with 30 farmers in Dumoga Subdistrict using a prepared questionnaire, including the identity of farmers, farming conditions and cultivation techniques of paddy rice in Dumoga Subdistrict (North Mopugad Main Village, North Mopugad 1, North Mopugad, South Mopugad, South Mopugad 1, South Mopuya, and Amertabuana). The research location was determined by purposive sampling, namely Dumoga Sub-district, Bolaang Mongondow Regency, with the consideration that the area is the center of paddy rice production in North Sulawesi. The data analysis used was a qualitative descriptive analysis technique. The data obtained were then processed and tabulated in the form of tables and diagrams. The results showed that the application of paddy rice cultivation technology carried out by farmers in Dumoga District included the application of land preparation using a hand tractor, a single planting pattern, a direct seed planting system of direct seed planting (Tabela), the spacing used was 20×20 cm, fertilization using fertilizers (Urea, Phonska, TSP and SP36), water sources came from irrigation irrigation, pest control using pesticide active ingredients and harvesting already using harvesting machines, and paddy rice production in Dumoga District reached 4 tons of GKG, with a productivity of 1.6 tons/ha.

Abstract

This research was conducted to clustering Siau nutmeg based on the characters of fruit weight, fruit length, fruit width, flesh thickness, seed weight, seed length, seed width, and mace weight. The research was conducted using the Survey Method. The survey was conducted in nutmeg gardens owned by farmers in the village: 1) Dompas, 2) Kanawong, 3) Tanaki, 4) Deahe, 5) Bahu, 6) Lagaeng, 7) Dame, 8) Batusenggo, 9) Batubulan, and 10) Pangilolong . Determination of village based on harvested area. The data were analyzed in clusters using the SPSS Statistical Analysis Program. The grouping was done using the agglomerative method. The two most similar populations of nutmeg will be grouped into one, then will be grouped again with other populations that are most similar. Based on the character of the fruit, seeds, and mace, Siau nutmeg can be grouped into three groups. Group 1 consists of Bahu, Lagaeng, Dame, and Batusenggo populations. Nutmeg in these villages has a fruit weight of 55.7 g, an average seed weight of 9.9 g and a mace weight of 1.5 g. Group 2 consisted of Dompas, Kanawong, Tanaki, and Deahe populations. Nutmeg in these villages has a fruit weight of 46.2 g, an average seed weight of 8.3 g, and a mace weight of 1.7 g. Group 3 consisting of Batubulan and Pangilolong populations. Nutmeg in these villages has a fruit weight of 35.80 g, a seed weight of 6.6 g, and a mace of 1.04 g.

Abstract

Spinach (Amaranthus sp) is a plant belonging to the Amaranthaceae family. Spinach is one of the oldest food plants in the world originating from America, which has been cultivated around 6700 years BC and is now spread throughout tropical and subtropical areas throughout the world. Copra fumigation ash contains macro and micro nutrients that plants need, one of which is potassium. This research aims to determine the effect of copra fumigation ash on the growth of spinach plants. This research was carried out at the Green House, Faculty of Agriculture, Sam Ratulangi University, Manado, North Sulawesi from June to July 2024. This research used a Randomized Group Design (RAK) with six treatments and four replications consisting of Without Ash Copra Fumigation (K0), 5 tons Copra Fumigation Ash/ha (K1), 10 tonnes of Copra Fumigation Ash/ha (K2), 15 tonnes of Copra Fumigation Ash/ha (K3), 20 tonnes of Copra Fumigation Ash/ha (K4) and 25 tonnes of Copra Fumigation Ash/ha ( K5). The research data were analyzed using the F test using the Microsoft Office Excel program to determine the effect of copra fumigation ash treatment on the growth of spinach plants. The research results showed that copra fumigation ash had a significant effect on the variable height of spinach plants but not on the number of leaves and width of spinach leaves. Copra fumigation ash also has a very significant effect on the fresh weight of spinach plants. It is recommended to use copra ash at a dose of 20 tons/ha as the recommended dose for spinach cultivation activities.
