Abstract

Abstract

This article discusses the democratic transition in Indonesia since 1998 until the end of the brief leadership of President Habibie, including previous analysis of the history and practice of democracy in Indonesia since 1945. The transfer of power from Soeharto to Habibie happened on May 21, 1998. In the 18 months of his leadership, Habibie was able to carry out important efforts in setting a foundation for democratic transition. Public freedom, freedom of the press, freedom of expression, and free speech were among Habibie’s achievements in opening the way for the process of democratization to continue. In the midst of the threat of the country’s collapse during that transition period, Habibie was relatively well able to defend the integrity of the Indonesian nation-state. His successors gained advantage from what had been put in place by Habibie. However, they have faced a number of problems, such as the procedural biases within democratic practice, incompatibility of presidential governance with the presence of many political parties, and gaps between the structure and function of high state institutions.DOI: 10.15408/sdi.v19i3.356

Abstract

Abstract

The increasingly growing world economic developments of companies are competing to show each other the quality of their goods with other companies, and many consumers are beginning to invest in what areas are benefiting. Gold investment is a simple investment form. Because this investment can be done by anyone, whether they are from the educated or not, by investing gold in the form of gold coins and gold bullion. This study aims to determine simultaneously and partially promotional strategies, brand image and perceptions of users of gold savings at PT. Pegadaian (Persero) JOMBANG. The type of research used is associative. The population in this study 88.10 with a sample of 88 respondents. Data analysis techniques use multiple linear regression. The results showed simultaneously and partially promotion strategy, brand image and perception have a significant effect on purchasing decision. In the application of its marketing strategy should pay more attention to the brand image, given the image of gold jewelry brand on the consumer has not been embedded properly. This can be done for example by improving marketing and marketing communications programs to educate consumers about benefits and branding, through appropriate advertising strategies.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to foster the logical-mathematical intelligence of learning residents at one of the Community Learning Activity Centers (PKBM) in West Bandung Regency, West Java Province. This activity was motivated by the observation that package B mathematics learning had not optimized the media in the learning process, including teaching aids. This is because the media has not been well facilitated, even though learning mathematics with visual aids can create challenges for students, including the Hanoi tower props. The service consists of several stages: observation, implementation, and evaluation. In carrying out the activity, students are divided into three groups and try to find the minimum steps of movement and analyze the strategies that must be used to achieve the goal. Based on the results of the logical-mathematical intelligence questionnaire, it was found that the hanoi tower can foster logical-mathematical intelligence of more than 70% of the learning population, so it can be said that this teaching aid is suitable for growing logical-mathematical intelligence in the learning process, especially in number pattern material.

Abstract

This essay intends to analyse the debate about responsibility in the discourse of global justice. The topic is inspired by the statement of Thomas Pogge who argues that the minor outcome in promoting global justice is generated by a deep ethical problem on the question of responsibility rather than a technical problem such as taxation and liberalisation policy (2001a). He argues that many global problems would be solved if only the affluent countries perceived their roles in sending foreign aid as a responsibility and not as charity, which is how many communitarians perceive it. This ethical debate will be the concern of my essay. The main agenda is to find the most convincing argument for ethical guidance in the current world. Analysing through the lense of Bertrand Russell's (1961) parameter of ‘commendable ethics,' this essay validates Pogge's position that foreign aid from affluent states is part of negative responsibility and therefore commendable as an ethical guide in promoting global justice.
