Abstract

Safety is the thing that needs to be preferred by users of transport, passengers should also understand about safety procedures and evacuation procedures in the means of transport. There have been many accidents that happen in the world of transport, particularly in the shipping world, from 2010 to 2016 is no more than 50 accidents of ships in accordance with the cause recorded by KNKT (Komisi Nasional Keselamatan Transportasi). On this research was discussed the evacuation time on the ship KM Zahro express that occurred earlier in the year 2017 in the Kepulauan Seribu, DKI Jakarta. Almost all passenger dead caused by fire from power source in engine room. This research explain about evacuation time and dangers from fire that interfere the process of evacuation. The methods used are Agent Based Modeling and Simulation (ABMS) and Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) for modeling fire simulation as well as using basic rules which refer to the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Result of Evacuation simulation calculation on normal conditions that match at actually condition is 29,783 minutes, showing the evacuation time is not below the performance standard.

Abstract

The result of data from the Energy Outlook Indonesia issued by the National Energy Board, mentioned the demand of LPG every year continues to rise, and there is a regions has high increased still at western part of Indonesia, precisely in the Sumatra and Java Island. Because of that, so effort to necessary anassesment for remake case study on the distribution pattern of vesseles with the thechincal data on the loading port and discharging port. The data has affecting distribution pattern of vessels, will be used to replicate previously existing transport system currently operated by using discrete simulation method, evaluated, and scenario building improvements to variations number and size of the capacity of vessels to get distribution pattern of effective and efficient. The result of this research obtained scenario capable to meet the demands of each destination terminal port with a case study during the next 5 years and also which has a vesseles operating expenses are the most economical.

Abstract

This study analyzes about the cause of flooding in KM Nusantara Akbar’s engine room. However, this study mainly focuses on flooding that caused by shaft deflection. It was found that the cause of the flooding was packing, driven by a deflection shaft. Analysis was done by a review of the technical and non-technical factors. The analyze of engine room flooding is carried out by using 5 whys method to asses the root causes. The results show that the causes of flooding are reconditioned flange bolts that have been damaged and the addition of flax on the bearing shaft has to cope without straightening axle deflection itself, equipment to overcome the failure system is very less, the workplace is dirty and uncomfortable and happened miss communication between the crews.
