Abstract

Midnight’s Children merupakan sebuah novel realistis magis yang menjadi salah satu karya terabik dari salman rushdie yang terbit pada 1981. Novel ini berkisah tentang anak-anak yang lahir tengah malam di tanggal 15 agutsus 1947 yang bertepatan dengan hari kemerdekaan Negara India. Penelitian ini berusaha untuk menggambarkan kehidupan di India setelah poklamasi kemerdekaan yang digambarkan oleh Salman Rushdie melalui kehidupan anak-anak tengah malam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatip desriptif dengan metode analisis konten. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra dalam memahami hubungan karya sastra dengan fenomena sosial yang terjadi di India pada awal kemerdekaan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Penderitaan Tokoh Celie dalam Novel The Colour Purple Karya Alice Walker”. Perempuan maupun laki-laki merupakan dua makhluk hidup yang diciptakan Tuhan dengan segala kekurangan dan kelebihannya. Perempuan pada dasarnya merupakan sosok makhluk yang lemah lembut, penuh kasih sayang dan mimiliki perasaan yang halus. Masyarakat umumnya menganggap laki-laki sebagai makhluk yang dianggap kuat dan perempuan dianggap lemah, oleh karena itu diyakini bahwa perempuan membutuhkan perlindungan dari semua orang. Sampai saat ini, masih ada perempuan yang mengalami kekerasan baik itu kekerasan fisik maupun kekerasan mental. Hal tersebut berkaitan dengan kisah yang diceritakan dalam novel yang berjudul The Colour Purple Karya Alice Walker yang menarik untuk penulis kaji. Kisah kehidupan Celie yang berawal dari kekerasan dan pelecehan yang terus Celie alami hingga berdampak pada psikologi Tokoh Celie. Peneliti menggunakan Jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif merupakan penelitian yang menggambarkan dan menjelaskan suatu keadaan didalam karya sastra itu sendiri. Penelitian ini dideskripsikan berdasarkan data yang dianalisis yaitu berupa penderitaan tokoh Celie dalam novel The Colour Purple Karya Alice Walker yang dikaji berdasarkan tokoh, alur, dan dampak penderitaan itu sendiri terhadap tokoh utama.

Abstract

The research entitled "The Main Character's Authoritarian Parenting Style in the Novel A Child Called 'It' by Dave Pelzer" is focused on identifying and describing the authoritarian parenting style of the main character in Dave Pelzer's novel. In addition, this study also identifies and describes the impact of authoritarian parenting by the main character on children in the novel. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, with an objective approach to describe and illustrate authoritarian parenting and the impact of authoritarian parenting by the main character on children who are included in the intrinsic elements of the novel. Data collection which was carried out uses note-and-read techniques, in which the reading of the novel A Child Called 'It' involved all dialogues in the novel to determine the actions of the main character's authoritarian parenting and the impact of authoritarian parenting on children contained in the novel. The results of this study indicate that authoritarian parenting is a form of parenting that is not good for children. This is indicated by the presence of some unfavorable parental behavior towards children. This study shows that the authoritarian parenting style is divided into four parts and each part shows how the behavior of parents with authoritarian parenting style towards children. The impact of authoritarian parenting is divided into two parts, namely the positive impact and the negative impact. Authoritarian parenting can have a positive impact even though more negative impacts are received by children. Keywords: The main character, Authoritarian parenting style, A Child Called “It” novel

Abstract

The title of this research is Inappropriate Scene and Behaviour in the Cartoon Crayon Shinchan, this research aims to show inappropriate scenes and behaviour that is being shown in this cartoon that is being watched by a lot of younger audiences in different countries but for this research, the writers are choosing on focusing on the country of Indonesia, the result of this research shows that quite a lot of scene in the cartoon of Crayon Shinchan are not suitable to show to a minor child and more toward the adult audience. Abstract

This research discusses internal conflicts of the main characters in Colleen Hoover's Novel It Ends With Us. The focus of this research is how to depict inner conflict in Colleen Hoover's novel It Ends With Us. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a goal approach. The results of this study found an analysis of the main character's inner conflict of the main character, Lily expresses all her frustration through the journal she made when she was 15 years old. Abstract

The title taken in this study is Identification of Conflict in Short Story The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell. The purpose of this study is to identify the types of conflict experienced by the main character in the short story The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell. In this research, the writer started by collecting data by noting things related to the title of this research. The results of the research in the short story The Most Dangerous Game show that conflict plays an important role in human life as a means of changing humans for the better. In this study, there are two conflicts experienced by the main character, namely internal conflict and external conflict, external conflict is divided into two, namely physical conflict and social conflict. The approach used in this study is an objective approach with the research method used is a descriptive qualitative research method which is carried out by describing or giving an overview of the object being studied through the data collected as it is. Abstract

The title of this study is an analysis of the Inner Structure and Physical Structure of Percy Bysshe Shelley's Love's Philosophy poetry. This study aims to formulate the inner structure and physical structure in the Love's Philosophy by Percy Bysshe Shelley. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative research method with a read-note analysis technique. This data analysis is obtained by carrying out several stages: reading, taking notes, and analyzing each line and stanza that belongs to the inner structure and physical structure. Based on the results of the analysis of “Love's Philosophy” poetry by Percy Bysshe Shelley, it has an inner structure in the form of theme, feeling, tone and message. The physical structure that is owned is in the form of diction, images or imagery, concrete words, figurative language , rhyme, and typography. Keywords: Poetry, Structure, Inner, Physical

Abstract

Poetry is a form of literary work that is very well known and appreciated throughout the world. Famous poetry works are often able to describe the emotions, experiences, and lives of the poets in a very beautiful and poetic way. One of the famous poets whose works are highly adored is Sylvia Plath. Sylvia Plath is known as one of the most talented poets of the 20th century, who managed to capture strong emotional nuances and life experiences in her poems. This research aims to analyze and interpret the meaning of connotation in two of Sylvia Plath's poems, namely "Daddy" and "Tulips". These poems were chosen because they both have different themes and styles, but they both describe the poet's personal feelings and experiences. In this study, qualitative methods were used to collect data from text analysis and interpretation of the connotative meanings contained in the poems. The results of the study show that "Daddy" and "Tulips" have complex meanings and contain many symbols that describe the poet's experiences and emotions. The poem "Daddy" describes Sylvia Plath's feelings of hatred and anger towards her deceased father, while "Tulips" describes the poet's desire to escape feelings of depression and loneliness. Abstract

The title of this is satirical humor in the childrens cartoon series Spongebob Squarepants. The purpose of this study is to show and explain the scenes containing satirical humor in this cartoon that has been shown to many underage audiences who do not understand what the humor means. In this study, researchers used a descriptive qualitative method and used an objective approach by focusing on the object itself, namely “Spongebob Squarepants” cartoon. Then in collecting data, the researcher uses the listening technique in which the author has watched and listened to this cartoon repeatedly so as to get what will be presented in this study. The results of this study show several scenes containing satirical humor in the Spongebob Squarepants cartoon, which are shown to underage audiences and also explain the depiction of the humor that has been found.
