Abstract

This study aims to examine the causality of crime, education and poverty in Indonesia. The data used is panel data during the period 2013-2017, with the technique of collecting documentation data and library studies obtained from relevant institutions and agencies. The variables used are Crime (Y1), Education (Y2), Poverty (Y3). The research methods used are: Granger Causality Test Panel and Vector Autoregression (PVAR) Panel. This study found that crime does not have a causal relationship to education, and vice versa. Crime does not have a causal relationship to poverty and vice versa. And poverty has a one-way relationship to education. The results of the PVAR found that crime in a given  year period was significantly influenced by crime in the previous period. Likewise, it was also with education and poverty.

Abstract

This research aims to prove and analyze the effect of total investment, population density and the amount of transportation on environmental degradation in Indonesia. The data used is obtained from the worbank website and the National Statistics Agency. The data used is time series data with a time sequence from 1988 to 2018. The method of analysis used in this research is multiple linear regression processed using SPSS. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it is found that total investment and population density have no significant effect on environmental degradation in Indonesia, while the amount of transportation has a significant effect on environmental degradation in Indonesia.

Abstract

Waste management shares the same purposes with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) target in 2030. This program encourages all countries to substantially reduce waste through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse its waste so that the sustainability of development can be achieved. The success rate of sustainable waste management is largely determined by the participation and behavior of people, households, and citizens in managing their waste. This study analyzes socio-economic factors and the role of social capital in affecting households' willingness to participate in waste management in West Sumatra’s urban areas. This study used National Socio-Economic Survey data in the Social Resilience module. The sample in this study is 1011 households spread across the urban areas of West Sumatra. Using logistic regression, this study found that per capita household expenditure, homeownership status, knowledge, and household involvement in mutual cooperation activities to clean up their environment significantly affect the probability of households participating in urban waste management. The relevant policy, such as implementing the 3R concept, namely reduce, reuse, and recycling is needed for the Sustainable Development Goals to be achieved.

Abstract

This study examines the determinant contribution of conventional bank lending for the agricultural sector in Indonesia. The analysis method used in this research is the Vector Correction Model (VECM). The results showed that in the short term, there was no significant effect of the Non-Performing Loan (LogNPL), GDP of Agricultural Sector (LogPDB), and Agricultural Sector Credit Interest Rates (SBK). However, there is an effect of the LogNPL and LogPDB on the conventional bank lending for the agricultural sector in the long term. The LogNPL has a significant positive effect on the contribution of conventional bank lending to the agricultural sector. While the LogPDB has a significant negative effect on the contribution of conventional bank lending for the agricultural sector. The Impulse Response Function (IRF) analysis results show that shocks to the LogNPL respond negatively in the long run, shocks to the LogPDB respond positively in the long run, and shocks to the SBK respond negatively in the long run by conventional bank lending for the agricultural sector. Through the analysis of FEVD (Forecast Error Variance Decomposition), it is known that the biggest contribution to conventional bank lending for the agricultural sector is agricultural credit and GDP.

Abstract

The agricultural sector aims to expand job opportunities and support regional development, which is very helpful for the benefit of the wider community, especially providing job opportunities by absorbing labor. This research is classified as descriptive and inductive research by examining the influence between the independent variable and the dependent variable using data analysis techniques, namely multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the analysis show that: (1) wages have a significant effect on the use of labor, (2) education has a significant effect on the use of labor, (3) technology has a significant effect on the use of labor, (4) capital has a significant effect on the use of labor, (5) wages, education, technology and capital simultaneously have a significant effect on the use of labor.
