Abstract

This is Classroom Action Research (henceforth, CAR) which was mainly carried out to prove that the implementation of Make A Match technique could enhance students’ mastery on phrasal verbs and to describe the students’ responses towards the implementation of Make A Match technique in learning processes of phrasal verbs. This CAR was carried out in two cycles in which each cycle consisted of four phases. The research subjects of this CAR are the fourth semester students of the English Language Education Study Program in the Academic Year of 2022/2023 at a private university in Medan consisting of 14 students. The analysis of quantitative data shows that the students’ total score and mean increased continually from the pre-test, formative test, and post-test. The students’ total score in the pre-test is 270 and the mean of the pre-test is 19.3; the students’ total score in the formative test is 792 and the mean of the formative test is 56.6; the students’ total score in the post-test is 1.072 and the mean of the post-test is 76.6. The analysis of qualitative data shows that the learning processes of phrasal verbs through the application of Make A Match technique ran very well. The class atmosphere was more alive and enjoyable after Make A Match technique was implemented so that the students were more active and motivated to learn and master phrasal verbs. It is advisable that English teachers or English lecturers apply Make A Match technique to teach phrasal verbs to their students.

Abstract

Most students experience difficulties in solving story problems in mathematics lessons, impacting learning outcomes that have not reached KKTP. This study aims to determine the significant influence of the STAD-type cooperative learning model assisted by dakota media on the ability to solve math story problems in grade V of elementary school. This study is an experimental research using a posttest-only control group design. The population of this study is 154 students. The sample was taken by cluster random sampling technique and a sample of the experimental class was obtained as many as 24 students and as a control class as many as 24 students. The data collection method is a test with an essay test instrument. The data from the study were analyzed by inferential statistical technique (t-test) polled variance. The results of the data analysis were obtained there is a significant influence of the STAD-type cooperative learning model assisted by the Dakota media on the ability to solve math story problems in grade V elementary school students. The implication of this research is that the STAD-type cooperative learning mode assisted by Dakota media can improve the ability to solve math story problems, active participation, interest, motivation, cooperation, creativity, and student learning outcomes, as well as create an innovative learning atmosphere that is in accordance with students' character.

Abstract

Elementary school students' writing skills still need significant strengthening, considering that many of them have difficulty in developing ideas and expressing them coherently in written form. The lack of ability to explore creativity in writing indicates the need for more innovative learning strategies and facilitate comprehensive exploration of ideas. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Fiction Story Diorama learning media in Indonesian Language Subjects to Improve Writing Skills of Grade IV Elementary School Students. The development model used is the ADDIE model. The subjects of this study were 18 grade IV students. Data collection methods and instruments used interviews, questionnaires and tests. The data analysis techniques used in this study were quantitative, qualitative and inferential descriptions. The results of the effectiveness test of this media were tested through a post-test, which showed that the concrete media "Diorama" was effective in learning Indonesian with fictional story material. The results of the calculation of the m t-test showed a t count of 14.38 and the results of the t-table were 1.73406, so from the results of the analysis it can be compared that the t count is greater than the t-table. Thus it can be concluded that this learning media is effective in improving students' writing skills. The implication of this study is that it can motivate teachers to be able to develop more diverse concrete learning media, in order to help the learning process so that it makes it easier for teachers to deliver the material.

Abstract

The writing skills of third-grade elementary school students are still low. This is due to the use of conventional teaching methods and the lack of digital media in the learning process. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of serial image media based on the Picture and Picture model in improving the writing skills of third-grade students. The study employed the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The methods and instruments used for data collection included interviews, observations, questionnaires, and essay tests. The research subjects consisted of 11 third-grade students. The data analysis techniques used were qualitative, quantitative, and inferential descriptions. The results of the dependent sample t-test showed a tcount value of 4.86, while the ttable value at a 5% significance level with degrees of freedom (11 – 1) = 10 was 1.795. These results indicate that tcount (4.86) > ttable (1.795), thus H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the serial image media based on the Picture and Picture model is effective in improving the writing skills of third-grade students and is suitable for use in learning narrative text material in the Indonesian language subject. The implication of this study is that the serial image media encourages students to be more active in discussing, composing stories, and developing their understanding both independently and in groups.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis efektivitas model pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri yang terintegrasi dengan nilai-nilai Tri Hita Karana (THK) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa kelas III di SD Negeri 3 Sesetan. Masalah yang diangkat adalah rendahnya keterlibatan sebagian siswa dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila (PPKn), khususnya dalam hal kerja sama, sikap menghargai, tolong-menolong, dan komunikasi sosial. Model inkuiri berbasis THK mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal Bali—Parahyangan (keharmonisan spiritual), Pawongan (keharmonisan sosial), dan Palemahan (keharmonisan lingkungan)—ke dalam proses pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan interaktif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, serta pretest dan posttest. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan sosial siswa, dengan rata-rata nilai meningkat dari 72,2 menjadi 80,2. Observasi menunjukkan bahwa 20 dari 29 siswa menunjukkan perilaku sosial yang lebih baik. Model ini direkomendasikan sebagai pendekatan pembelajaran PPKn yang bermakna dan relevan secara budaya.

Abstract

Low reading interest and autonomous learning among elementary students are challenges in learning the Indonesian language. This study aimed to develop, validate, and measure the effectiveness of a picture story E-Book to enhance autonomous learning and reading interest among third-grade students at elementary school. The research applied the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, involving three experts (content, instructional design, and media) and 24 students as 24 students as effectiveness subjects, 3 students for individual trials, and 9 students for small group trials. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive quantitative and inferential methods. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive quantitative and inferential methods. Data were collected using multiple-choice tests, questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Validation results showed very good categories, with scores of 94.79% for content, 100% for instructional design, and 92.50% for media. The effectiveness test used a paired sample t-test, showing tcount = 12.243 > ttable = 2.069 at a 5% significance level, indicating a significant difference before and after using the E-Book. The study concluded that the picture story E-Book effectively enhanced students' reading interest and autonomous learning. The study's implications support the development of innovative technology-based learning to improving Indonesian language learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of learning media used to improve the speaking skills. This study aims to describe the design, analyze the feasibility of media, and determine the effectiveness of animal-themed flash card media. The research model used is ADDIE. Data collection used interview, observation, and questionnaire methods. The subjects involved in this study included two contect expert, on einstructional design expert, one media expert, one practicality expert, three individual test students, and nine small group test students. This study used quantitative descriptive analysis, qualitative descriptive analysis, and inferensial statistical analysis. This research result were as follow. (1) The results of the design of flash card media ini the form of print with animal themes developed with the ADDIE model, (2) The result of feasibility through expert tests and product trials show that animal-themed flash card media are feasible to use in learning, (3) The effectiveness result show that animal-themed flash card media are effective for use in grade I elementary school students. The implication of this research is that it can make learning more interesting so that it has a positive effect on learning outcomes, especially improving student’s speaking skills.
