Abstract

AbstractThe seawater fishery in Dusun Sine has the higher potentials, due to its location near the coastal area of Sine Beach. In general, the people in Dusun Sine make a living as sea fishermen. However, the income of the marine fishing community has not maximized because the community still uses the conventional marine product processing production system, so that the marketing of processed marine fish products is also limited. As an effort to increase the selling value of processed marine fish, the International Community Service Group empowers fishermen's wives in Sine Hamlet by conducting several activity programs in the form of socializing the manufacture of modern marine processed products in the form of Sine Foodies, home industry food (PIRT), and the use of e-commerce. This activity was held to use a health protocol and through a presentation method on product marketing licensing in the form of PIRT socialization and marketing of processed marine fish products with e-commerce as well as demonstrations on the process of making processed marine fish products in the form of shredded fish and fish balls using attractive packaging. Participants in the socialization were fishermen's wives, village cadres, and prospective entrepreneurs from Kalibatur Village.Keywords: Assistance, processed marine fish products, Processing, Licensing management, MarketingAbstrakSektor perikanan air laut yang ada di Dusun Sine, Desa Kalibatur, Kecamatan Kalidawir, Kabupaten Tulungagung, memiliki potensi yang sangat tinggi. Hal ini disebabkan letaknya yang berada di dekat wilayah pesisir Pantai Sine. Secara umum, masyarakat di Dusun Sine bermata pencaharian sebagai nelayan laut. Namun, pendapatan masyarakat nelayan laut belum maksimal karena masyarakat masih menggunakan sistem produksi pengolahan hasil laut secara konvensional, sehingga pemasaran produk hasil olahan ikan laut juga terbatas dengan seadanya. Sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan nilai jual hasil olahan ikan laut, Tim Pengabdian masyarakat Departemen Kimia, Fakultas Sains dan Teknologi, Universitas Airlangga dengan didukung penuh oleh Kelompok mahasiswa KKN Internasional, FST, UNAIR melakukan upaya pemberdayaan para istri nelayan di Dusun Sine dengan melakukan beberapa program kegiatan berupa sosialisasi pembuatan hasil olahan laut secara modern berupa Sine Foodies, pangan industri rumah tangga (PIRT), serta penggunaan e-commerce. Kegiatan ini diselenggarakan menggunakan protokol kesehatan dan melalui metode presentasi mengenai perijinan pemasaran produk berupa sosialisasi PIRT dan pemasaran produk hasil olahan ikan laut dengan e-commerceserta demonstrasi mengenai proses pembuatan produk hasil olahan ikan laut yang berupa abon ikan dan bakso ikan dengan menggunakan kemasan yang menarik. Peserta sosialisasi adalah para istri nelayan, kader desa, dan calon pengusaha yang berasal dari Dusun Sine, Desa Kalibatur. Kata Kunci: Pendampingan, Produksi makanan olahan hasil laut, Pengurusan perijinan, Pemasaran

Abstract

This study focus on calculating the carbon footprint from the activities of the Universitas Airlangga. CO2 emission calculations were carried out using the UI GreenMetric method and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in two periods: before the Covid-19 pandemic and during the Covid-19 pandemic. Activities at Universitas Airlangga that produce carbon footprints are divided into two main sources, first, primary sources that come from direct combustion of fuel into energy, such as burning fuel in motorized vehicles and a secondary source that comes from an indirect source of using electricity in the campus area. The results showed that in the period before the pandemic, the total carbon emissions, based on the IPCC calculation method, were 23.830,34 tons of CO2-eq/year. Meanwhile, based on the UI GreenMetric method, a total carbon emission of 26.325,36 tons of CO2-eq/year was obtained. As for the time period during the pandemic, Universitas Airlangga's total carbon emissions obtained based on the IPCC calculation method were 20.506,69 tons of CO2-eq/year. Meanwhile, based on the UI GreenMetric method, a total carbon emission of 22.321,63 tons of CO2-eq/year was obtained. Secondary carbon footprint mapping is carried out to ascertain the distribution of secondary CO2 emissions produced by Universitas Airlangga. The secondary carbon footprint both before and during the Covid-19 pandemic was mostly generated by the Universitas Airlangga Hospital.

Abstract

The smart city concept emerged as an alternative solution to overcome the negative impacts of urbanization in big cities, based on the concept of sustainable development. A smart city is a city that can utilize human resources, social capital, and modern telecommunications infrastructure to achieve sustainable economic growth and high quality of life through wise management of resources by the government based on community participation. Jombang has not been managed optimally due to a lack of digital exposure and promotion. Based on these problems, the Faculty of Science and Technology, Airlangga University will organize an international community service program in Jombang to introduce culture and tourism in Jombang to the world through international students and transfer knowledge regarding the application of smart tourism to increase tourism promotion in Jombang. This community service program was carried out together with international students who will first be given an introduction and knowledge of the smart city concept and its application at Universitas Airlangga and the City of Surabaya through a short course. Then the students will be invited to visit the tourist and cultural village in Jombang to transfer knowledge to the local community regarding the application of the smart tourism concept to promote tourism potential in Jombang.

Abstract

Universitas Airlangga is fully committed to participating in achieving the SDGs through carrying out community service-based research that includes multidisciplinary knowledge, both from the realms of science and technology and social humanities. This commitment is realized in the implementation of the Surabaya International Community Service program which aims to provide an understanding of global issues that affect society today regarding climate change and the current environment, introduce green energy technology to the international community and encourage the adoption of green energy as an alternative energy source, as well as building a network of cooperation and collaboration between participants from various countries and to overcome global environmental problems. Universitas Airlangga encourages full efforts in realizing the thirteenth point of the SDGs, namely Handling Climate Change through a series of community-based learning activities, mangrove rehabilitation, and dissemination of solar panels as green energy.

Abstract

This study examines the carbon capture potential of mangrove ecosystems, focusing on the Randuboto mangrove conservation area. The total biomass in the area amounts to 172.031 tons/ha, with a carbon storage capacity of 80.855 tons/ha and CO2 capture of 296.738 tons/ha. The sapling stratum, characterized by greater mangrove density, produces higher biomass and accommodates more carbon reserves compared to the mature tree stratum. Avicennia marina is identified as the most significant contributor to biomass, carbon storage, and CO2 absorption. Mangroves, through their dense root systems and photosynthetic processes, trap and store carbon both in their biomass and in waterlogged sediments, where decomposition is slowed. Additionally, tidal exchanges enhance carbon capture by promoting the deposition of organic material, further increasing carbon storage in coastal areas. These ecosystems play a crucial role in mitigating climate change by sequestering large amounts of carbon, protecting coastal habitats, and supporting biodiversity, emphasizing the need for their conservation in climate action strategies.

Abstract

Global warming comes from many human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels and the use of energy can produce Greenhouse Gases. The energy sector itself is the largest contributor of greenhouse gases in the world. This study aims to determine the greenhouse gas emissions produced in the energy sector on Gili Iyang Island. To be able to determine the greenhouse gas emissions produced in the energy sector on Gili Iyang Island, the IPCC 2006 calculation method was used. In this method, primary data is needed in the form of data on energy and fuel consumption activities of residents and secondary data in the form of the number of families on Gili Iyang Island. In the stationary source itself, CO2 gas emissions are produced at 1,438,259.9 Kg/Year, CH4 gas at 324.164 Kg/Year, and N2O gas at 12.486 Kg/Year. Meanwhile, moving sources produce CO2 gas emissions of 510,339.1052 Kg/Year, CH4 gas of 191.363 Kg/Year, and N2O gas of 20.969 Kg/Year. As for mitigation actions that can be taken based on its topography and climate, Gili Iyang Island has the potential to use solar panels and biogas as alternative energy and fuel sources to meet daily needs.
