Abstract

One of the factors that cause a decrease in productivity is the work environment load, namely physiological factors and the capacity of workers such as work nutrition intake. Static work that is carried out with a long duration and heavy workload will cause a contractionary effect on the muscles and cause pain which will have an impact on work productivity. PT Apac Inti Corpora Semarang, especially in the garment finishing section, does ironing work in a standing position for 8 hours of work and without additional food for workers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of stretching and intake of bananas(Musa Textilia) toward the employee’s productivity in the garment finishing section, PT Apac Inti Corpora Semarang. This type of research is a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study was 40 people and the sample was taken using the total sampling technique. The samples were divided into 4 groups, namely the intervention of stretching exercise group, intake of banana, stretching exercise and intake of bananas simultaneously, and the control group. Each group contains 10 respondents. Measurement of productivity variables uses the number of production targets for workers The results showed that there was an effect and increase in productivity (p-value=0,001) after intervening with stretching exercises and giving intake of bananas (Musa Textilia) simultaneously.

Abstract

Shift work is a system applied by companies to maximize and maintain productivies for 24 hours which is divided into morning, afternoon and night works. Fatigue is a condition of reduced efficiency, performance and reduced strength or endurance of the body to continue activities. The implementation of shift work that causes work fatigue have to be controlled considering fatigue can cause workplace accidents. The purpose of this research is to analyze the correlation between shift work with the fatigue of work on the gas stations operator using Bourdon Wiersma methods. This research type is a cross-sectional analytical descriptive research. The population and sample in this study are 33, operators “gas station 44 502 23 and gas stations 44 502 02 Semarang. The instrument that use in this research were Bourdon Wiersma test form to evaluate speed, accurary and constancy. The results showed that there was a correlation between shift work and fatigue (sig 0.032). Most operators feel heavy fatigue when working on the night shift (63.6%) compared to day shifts (36.4%) and morning shifts (18.2%) To reduce the fatigue of work on the operator, management should replace the regulation of “shift work system” to “quick rotation pattern” that is 2-2-3 and 3-3-2 systems so the operators can adapt to their work schedule.

Abstract

Workers of Jipang Ambarawa Cake Factory form japan cake by hand. Work posture and hand repetition when forming a japan cake can cause complaints in joints, ligaments and tendons that lead to muscle pain complaints. Heat pressure due to extreme temperatures can accelerate the occurrence of muscle complaints. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship of posture, repetition and heat pressure with MSDs complaints on the upper body. This study uses cross sectional study which is a form of observational study and is analytic descriptive. The population of the research is all the workers of Ambarawa Jipang Cake Factory in the forming section which amounted to 35 people with the sampling method. The instrument of this study is a questionnaire (to collect data on the characteristics of respondents and complaints MSDs), video recording (to see the work posture and the number of reps), ordinary arc (to measure the upper body angle with job posture picture). The results showed there were 91.40% of samples had MSDs complaints on the wrist. Statistical analysis using Rank Spearman test to see the relationship of heat pressure with MSDs and Chi-Square Test to see the relationship between work posture and repetition with MSDs complaints. The test results showed there was a correlation between the repetition variable on the wrist (p = 0.049). There was no correlation between posture of work with MSDs complaints on upper neck (p = 0,441), shoulder (p = 0,992), upper arm (p = 0,416), forearm (p = 0,552) and wrist (p = 0,529). There was also no correlation between heat stress with MSDs complaints on the upper neck (p = 0.528), shoulders (p = 0.904), upper arm (p = 0.487), forearm (p = 0.380) and wrist (p = 0.429) . It is recommended for workers to stretch on the sidelines of doing work. For the owner of JIpang Cake Factory to redesign the work out layout.

Abstract

The X Passenger Motor Ship is a type of roll on-roll off (Ro-Ro) ship used for ferry boats by carrying passengers and vehicle cargo. The ship has greatest potential danger to the occurrence of fire which will cause a considerable amount of losses. The X Passenger Motor Ship has been equipped with fire prevention system including fire protection system, life safety facility, and fire management. The purpose of this research is to analyze fire protection system based on Standard Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI) of Rules for The Classification and Construction Standard Seagoing Ships, and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) at the X Passenger Motor Ship. This research is a qualitative research with observational method and depth interview. The results show that the implementation of fire protection system and life safety facilities are equipped with all requirements of a passenger ship but the need for additional protection equipment and safety facilities in some areas of the ship. While the implementation of fire management has been going well but need the addition of duties and responsibilities on one of the new crew. In this study it can be concluded that the implementation of a good fire protection protection system will improve good fire fighting procedures as well.

Abstract

Irritant contact dermatitis is a local non-immunologic inflammatory reaction of the skin caused by contact with exogenous or endogenous factors. This disease is characterized by inflammation of the polymorphic skin traits that have broad identification, such as: itching, redness, scaling, vesicles, and crusting papulovesikel. PT X is an industry which is engaged in the production of animal feed in Cirebon City. The production process is divided into several stages, weighing ingredients according to recipe, coarse crushing raw materials, mixing all the ingredients according to recipe, pellet forming and crumble establishment. Before mixing the main ingredient there was a process of weighing chemicals and feed supplement as prescribed in premix company section. The purpose of this research was to analyze the factors associated with the occurrence of irritant dermatitis contact in Premix workers in PT X Cirebon. The type of the research is an observational study with cross sectional approach. The subjects were 40 workers as part of Premix respondents. The results of the chi square test statistic obtained contact with the chemical (p value = 0.0001), years (p value = 1.000), duration of exposure (p value = 0.003), age (p value = 0.003), gender (p value = 0.017), knowledge (p value = 1.000), use of personal protective equipment (p value = 0.369), personal hygiene (p value = 0.689). The conclusion of this study is in contact with chemicals, long exposure, age and gender, associated with the incidence of irritant dermatitis contact. While working life, knowledge, use of personal protective equipment, and personal hygiene are not associated with the incidence of irritant contact dermatitis
