Abstract

Patients under spinal anesthesia will remain conscious during surgery. This can lead to increased anxiety which if not treated immediately can hinder anesthesia and surgical procedures. Management of a combination of deep breath relaxation 4-7-8 method and classical music as a non-pharmacological therapy that is easily learned and applied by patients. This study to be able to determine the effect of the combination of deep breath relaxation 4-7-8 method and classical music on the anxiety level of preoperative patients with spinal anesthesia at Kardinah Hospital, Tegal City. This research is a quasy experiment using a pretest-posttest design with control group. The sampling technique used consecutive sampling with samples of preoperative patients with spinal anesthesia of 36 intervention groups and 36 comparison groups. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test and Mann Whitney test. The results of statistical tests using the Wilcoxon test obtained results p=0.000 (<0.05) in the intervention group and p=0.071 (>0.05) in the comparison group. The results of the Mann Whitney test show a signification number p=0.000 (<0.05), so Ha is accepted. The Conclusion of the study, there is an effect of giving a combination of deep breath relaxation 4-7-8 method and classical music on the anxiety of preoperative patients with spinal anesthesia at Kardinah Hospital, Tegal City.

Abstract

The low number of cases found compared to the incidence of Tuberculosis (TB) shows that the control of this disease becomes a serious problem. The stigma is suspected to be one of the obstacles to solving the TB problem in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the ability of the Jaga-rasa Jaga-tangga program to decrease TB stigma in two Public Health Centers (PHCs) in Sleman Regency, Indonesia. This is a quasi-experimental study design with a control method. Both intervention and control groups get health education about TB stigma. The intervention group also gets an education about the Jaga rasa Jaga tangga (take care of your neighbors as well as take care of their feelings) program. The outcome measure was the TB stigma scale that measure before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using paired t-tests and independent t-tests. 106 respondents were involved in this study divided into intervention and control groups. Age (p=0.006) and social status (p=0.015) are associated with TB stigma in the community. There were significant changes in the TB stigma scale after the intervention (paired =0.305; p=0.001). The Jaga-rasa Jaga-tangga program along with health education reduces TB stigma more effectively than health education only. Further studies are needed to confirm this result.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe phenomenon of cases of diabetes mellitus from year to year continues to increase. According to the International Diabetes Federation (2019) revealed that the number of diabetes mellitus patients in the world in 2019 was 829 million and it is estimated that in 2040 the number of diabetes patients will increase 1.5 times. The prevalence of diabetes mellitus in the Special Region of Yogyakarta continues to increase every year. The prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus in DI Yogyakarta Province, in 2020, is 5.59 percent. This figure has even increased compared to the results of research seven years earlier in 2013, namely 3.4 percent. To determine the effect and differences in increasing diabetic self-management before and after intervention through social support with peer leaders among people with type II DM in the elderly Posyandu. This research used a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test nonequivalent control group design. The study population was all type II diabetes sufferers at the Elderly Posyandu in Ngentak, Bangunjiwo, Kasihan, Bantul, DI Yogyakarta from September 2022 to June 2023 with a sample size of 50 respondents using purposive sampling. The data collection instrument used a respondent characteristic questionnaire, and a diabetes self management knowledge questionnaire. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately with q-square test (95% CI). In this design, the experimental group underwent an initial selection in the form of a pre-test, namely the assessment of diabetic self-management in type II DM patients before the social support intervention with peer leaders was carried out, then a post-test was carried out after the intervention was given. There is an effect of increasing diabetic self-management knowledge, seen from the difference in the mean value from pretest to posttest of only 10,5 in the respondents' answers. There was a difference from the pretest to the posttest scores, seen from the significance of p = 0.000 (p <0.05) after being given interventions about social support with peer leaders among people with type II DM in the elderly Posyandu. There are influences and differences in the form of increasing diabetic self-management after being given intervention to fellow DM type II sufferers at the Elderly Posyandu in Ngentak hamlet, Bangunjiwo, DI Yogyakarta Keywords: Diabetic self management, social support, peer leader, type II diabetic

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of internet of things (IoT) based sensor devices in increasing knowledge of monitoring the humidity of the physical environment in the homes of pulmonary TB sufferers. The research method used by Research and Development uses a quasi-experimental approach. The initial step was to test the normality of the data using the Shapiro-Wilk statistical test. It was found that the data was not normally distributed, so the statistical test used a non-parametric test, namely the Wilcoxon test. The p value will be considered significant if the p value <0.05. The results of the research show that the field test, a p value of 0.000 <0.05 was obtained, meaning that there was a difference in the average user knowledge score before the intervention was carried out and after the intervention was carried out. The research conclusion is that Internet of Things (IoT) based sensor devices have proven effective in increasing knowledge of monitoring the humidity of the physical environment in the homes of pulmonary TB sufferers. Abstract

Background: Most cardiac arrests occur outside the hospital (out-of-hospital cardiac arrest/OHCA). Public Health Centre (PHC) nurses are one of the important components of the chain of survival. The confidence of PHC nurses in performing Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is still questioned.Purpose: To analyze the factors determining the level of confidence of PHC nurses in performing CPR.Method: An observational analytical study with a cross-sectional approach involving 30 nurses from 2 PHCs in Banten Province, Indonesia taken using a total sampling technique. Results: A total of 30 participants participated in this study. The average age of participants was 36.4 years with an age range between 26-55 years. Most participants were male 17/56.7%, had a diploma education background of 21/70.0%, and had upgraded their BLS training 23/76.7%. On average, participants had worked for 6.5 years and managed 3.4 cases of cardiac arrest (CA) during their time as nurses. It was found that gender, educational background, and BLS training status were not associated with the nurse's level of confidence in performing CPR. While employment status has a significant relationship with confidence in performing. Age has a strong relationship with self-confidence with an r rank value of 0.447. Length of work also showed a relationship with self-confidence with an r-rank value of 0.503. Likewise, the number of CA cases ever managed has a relationship with self-confidence with an r rank of 0.419.Conclusion: Gender, educational background, and BLS training status were not associated with nurses' confidence levels in performing CPR. Employment status, age, length of work, and number of CA cases managed were associated with nurses' confidence in performing CPR.
