Abstract

Pengoperasian katup pada turbin uap terutama main stop valve dan control valve, dibutuhkan oli sebagai fluida kerja yang mengalir untuk menggerakkan katup yang kemudian dialirkan ke control oil radiator untuk didinginkan. Penelitian ini membahas pada kondisi control oil radiator dalam mendinginkan oli yang kurang maksimal sehingga dibantu blower. Temperatur oli keluaran radiator sekarang sebesar sedangkan temperatur yang dianjurkan berdasarkan standar desain adalah . Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, dilakukan pemasangan Heat Exchanger tipe Plate untuk menggantikan control oil radiator, namun sebelumnya perlu merancang plate heat exchanger dengan menggunakan beberapa persamaan yang di validasi menggunakan software HTRI, kemudian dilakukan analisis hasil perbedaan antara perancangan manual dengan software HTRI. Hasil perancangan manual plate heat exchanger menghasilkan efektivitas sebesar 0,86. Syarat faktor kekotoran ≥ 0.00029 m².°C/W dan hasil perancangan adalah 0,00029167, serta syarat total pressure drop 68950 Pa dan hasil perancangan sebesar 66224,47 Pa.

Abstract

Pembakaran sampah dengan insinerator adalah metode umum dalam pengolahan sampah, tetapi menghasilkan emisi gas beracun yang berdampak buruk pada kesehatan dan lingkungan. Artikel ini membahas penggunaan teknologi filter asap untuk mengatasi masalah ini, dengan fokus pada Bank Sampah Cempaka 2 di Kabupaten Bandung Barat, Jawa Barat. Pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat selama 6 bulan dilakukan untuk mengimplementasikan sistem filter asap pada insinerator sampah. Sistem ini terdiri dari kotak quencher, filter karbon aktif, filter kapur tohor, dan bag filter. Hasilnya menunjukkan pengurangan emisi zat berbahaya dan partikel polutan udara. Pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam penggunaan dan pemeliharaan teknologi ini menjadi kunci keberhasilan, sambil mengidentifikasi potensi pengembangan lebih lanjut dalam pengelolaan sampah berkelanjutan. Saran untuk pengembangan selanjutnya adalah memantau kualitas udara di sekitar insinerator dan penelitian lanjutan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi teknologi filter asap.

Abstract

The power factor of the circuit is determined by the amount of pure resistance (R), self-inductance of the coil (L) and the capacitance of the capacitor (C). In this study, the measurement of the power factor value in a parallel RLC circuit was carried out through experimental testing and simulation with the value of C as the independent variable, while the values of R and L were fixed conditioned quantities. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of capacitance on a parallel RLC circuit. One of the ways to improve the power factor value in a circuit is to install capacitive compensation using a capacitor. The relation between the power factor value and the capacitance and inductive reactance based on the experimental results and the simulation calculation results in the parallel RLC circuit both shows the same pattern with a relative uncertainty below 8%. The experimental results and simulation results both show that the power factor can be improved by using a right capacitance which is around the capacitance value when there is resonance in the circuit.

Abstract

Boiler performance is critical for optimal operation, so it requires continuous monitoring to prevent performance degradation. Decreased performance can be caused by drying, reduced fuel and feed water quality, and poor maintenance. One preventive measure is to carry out an overhaul. This research analyzes the effect of overhaul on boiler performance using data before and after overhaul, with a focus on the evaporation ratio and boiler efficiency. The research results show an increase in the evaporation ratio from 17.26 to 18.23 and efficiency from 77.12% to 79.56% after overhaul. This increase shows that the overhaul has succeeded in improving boiler performance. Increased boiler performance occurs as a result of overhaul activities, which include cleaning and replacing equipment. This maximizes heat transfer between the feed water and the gases resulting from fuel combustion.

Abstract

Pengelolaan sampah menjadi tantangan utama di Desa Ciwaruga akibat tingginya timbulan sampah rumah tangga yang belum tertangani secara optimal. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut melalui penerapan teknologi insinerasi sederhana dan pemanfaatan abu sisa pembakaran sebagai bahan campuran pembuatan paving block. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi identifikasi kebutuhan mitra, studi literatur, penyediaan insinerator, pelatihan teknis, penyusunan SOP, serta peningkatan partisipasi warga melalui sistem tabungan sampah. Hasilnya menunjukkan keberhasilan operasional alat, tersusunnya SOP yang aplikatif, serta peningkatan peran serta masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah. Kesimpulannya, teknologi ini terbukti efektif secara teknis dan sosial, serta berpotensi direplikasi di wilayah serupa sebagai solusi berkelanjutan dalam manajemen sampah berbasis komunitas.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi pemasaran yang tepat untuk Bank Sampah Cempaka 2 yang terletak di RW 02 Desa Ciwaruga Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Pendirian Bank Sampah ini dilatarbelakangi perlunya pengelolaan banyaknya sampah yang menumpuk, yang berasal dari sampah rumah tangga dan terkumpul di wilayah RW 02 Desa Ciwaruga Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Namun dalam pengelolaan Bank Sampah Cempaka 2 ini terdapat kendala dalam bidang pemasaran produk. Berdasarkan analisis situasi tersebut, rendahnya tingkat penjualan produk bank sampah menjadi isu utama yang dialami mitra, sehingga diperlukan adanya kemampuan memasarkan produk-produk bank sampah melalui media online adalah permasalahan utama yang dihadapi mitra. Sebagai solusi atas permasalahan yang terjadi diselenggarakan beberapa kegiatan bersama mitra  antara lain Pelatihan sistem pencatatan yang berkaitan dengan produksi dan penjualan produk mitra, Pendampingan mitra untuk merencanakan program pemasaran produk-produk bank sampah, termasuk menentukan platform media online dan marketplace yang akan digunakan, Pelatihan pembuatan akun bisnis pada media online yang telah ditentukan dalam perencanaan program pemasaran, serta Pelatihan dan pendampingan untuk mitra dalam menggunakan media online untuk pemasaran produk-produk bank sampah. Kegiatan ini memiliki tingkat partisipasi yang tinggi dari mitra yang memberikan dampak positif bagi pelaksanaan program yaitu meningkatnya kreativitas mitra dalam pembuatan produk daur ulang sampai memiliki nilai ekonomi yang tinggi, membantu tercegahnya dari pencemaran lingkungan. Selain itu, melalui digital marketing (media online) dapat menghasilkan peluang pemasaran produk secara nasional dan internasional.

Abstract

Biogas is an alternative energy source that is environmentally friendly, cheap, easy to obtain and renewable. In general, all types of organic materials can be processed to produce biogas, however only homogeneous organic materials (solid and liquid) such as manure and urine (urine) of livestock are suitable for a simple biogas system. Biogas can be burned like LPG and on a large scale can be used to generate electricity, so that biogas can be used as an alternative energy source that is environmentally friendly and renewable. To determine the performance of biogas as an alternative energy source, in this research the method used is to compare the performance of Biogas with LPG gas as a source of electrical energy. Analysis of trial data per minute (RPM), with varying load levels, shows that the RPM of generators using LPG only decreases slightly as the electrical load increases, which shows that the generator is able to maintain more consistent performance. The RPM produced by LPG, which ranges from 2358 to 2420 RPM, indicates that the engine is running faster and more efficiently, while biogas has a lower RPM, ranging from 1715 to 1820 RPM, which indicates slower operation. LPG efficiency ranges from 89.60% to 98.12%, while biogas efficiency ranges from 74.67% to 89.60%. Even though biogas shows less stable performance than LPG, biogas still has potential as an alternative fuel, especially in areas that have limited access to LPG but have abundant sources of biogas raw materials. The use of biogas can reduce dependence on fossil fuels and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Even though LPG is more efficient, biogas has significant potential to be developed as a more environmentally friendly alternative energy source because LPG relies on non-renewable fossil fuels and has a negative impact on the environment in the long term.

Abstract

ESP or electrostatic precipitator is a device used to capture particulate matter, such as dust, in exhaust gases using electrostatic principles. In the cement industry, ESP is commonly placed after the clinker cooler to clean the exhaust air from the cooling process, ensuring it is free from clinker dust. The clinker cooler is a device that cools down the clinker using air, reducing its temperature from an initial temperature of around 1450°C to approximately 100°C - 120°C. The exhaust air from the clinker cooler is then passed through the ESP at temperatures ranging from around 237°C to 311°C. Based on the temperature data, the exhaust air from the ESP has the potential for heat reuse for other processes, including as a heat source for drying rice husk, which is a common alternative fuel used in the cement industry and typically has a moisture content of around 25%-37%. The results of this design indicate that the exhaust heat from the ESP, with an input temperature of 275°C, is capable of drying rice straw pellets from a moisture content of 25% to 14.73% using a designed rotary dryer with a capacity of 21.6 t/h, a length of 41.58 m, and a diameter of 2.92 m. It is constructed using ASTM 283 C material with a thickness of 8.76 mm and is insulated with a 15.6 mm thick layer of aluminum foil

Abstract

Condensate water is the result of condensing steam which has decreased in temperature and pressure due to losses from the environment. Steam trap used to separate water or dew from steam resulting from a decrease in temperature. This condensate water has a temperature of 50°C. Based on the results of condensate water testing from steam trap it has permissible criteria for boiler feed. In the existing conditions, the boiler feed water requirement is 500 liters/hour with a temperature of 25°C, while the water produced from steam trap of 230 liters/hour so that to be able to meet the needs of boiler feed water, a pump designed with a capacity of 50.6 liters/minute is needed. The purpose of this research is to design a pump to utilize steam trap water as boiler feed water. Materials are selected according to requirements and standards. Condensate water from the steam trap becomes the initial parameter for calculating Head, NPSH, Impeller Diameter, and Shaft Diameter. NPSH available must be greater than NPSH request to prevent pump cavitation, which can cause damage or loss. Based on the calculations, the NPSH req value is smaller than the NPSH available, which is 4.62 m < 11.48 m. The total head is 7.97 meters, and the number of blades is 7. The design dimensions obtained are the impeller inner diameter of 29.47 mm, outer diameter of 72.58 mm, shaft diameter of 6 mm, casing diameter of 76.215 mm.

Abstract

A Hybrid System Based on Solar Panels and LPG offers an alternative energy solution that combines renewable solar energy with LPG for improved efficiency and reliability. Solar panels capture sunlight and convert it into electricity, which can be used immediately or stored in batteries for later use, such as at night or during cloudy weather. Solar energy is eco-friendly, renewable, and widely available. However, when solar energy is insufficient, LPG is used as a backup fuel for a generator to ensure continuous power supply. Although not renewable, LPG is cleaner than other fossil fuels like coal or oil. The hybrid system's advantage lies in its efficiency, as solar panels reduce LPG consumption, while LPG ensures uninterrupted power. This combination makes the system more reliable by providing energy even when one source is unavailable. Despite the use of LPG, this system is more environmentally friendly than relying solely on fossil fuels, as it reduces the overall need for LPG. Keywords: Solar Cells, LPG, Hybrid
