Abstract

Background: Competence of postpartum perineum wound suturing should be owned by midwives. However, students are limitedly trained on how to use cotton pads that are less representative in form and material. This results in a lack of student competence in perineum stitching practice. Aims: This study goal is to know the effectiveness of perineum wound suturing model made from flannel in order to increase stitching competence on the students of Midwifery study program of Banten Health Polytechnic. Methods: This research was designed using experimental design with post-test design method. The respondents consisted of 11 treatment group and 14 control group. The research implementation consisted of three stages. First, an introduction to the perineum wound sewing technique. Second, the model group practiced with flannel and cotton. Third, the respondents filled up the questionnaire on level of confidence and competence assessment of both groups of students. Data analysis used Mann Whitney test because the median difference of two independent groups if the dependent variable data scale is ordinal and ratio. Results: The results showed that the mean of perineum wound suturing competence in the model group was higher (83) than in the non-model group (74). The statistical test results obtained p = 0.002 which means that there was a significant difference in the competency of both groups. At the self confidence level of the respondents in performing perineum wound suturing, both groups had the same mean (4) with p = 0.651. At the time of perineum wound suturing, it is known that the model group mean was slightly faster (20 minutes) than the non-model group (22 minutes) with p = 0.978. There were no significant differences between the two variables. Conclusion: The study showed that the test model was better in improving the competence of the perineum wound suturing. Flannel model is also more affordable and can be sutured over and over so it is economical for students. Further study on efficient media is recommended so that duration and confidence would be better.

Abstract

Pipa kapiler merupakan salah satu komponen penting sistem refrigerasi. Untuk mengaplikasikannya, dibutuhkan panjang pipa yang tepat. Pada studi ini akan dilakukan penentuan panjang pipa kapiler menggunakan suatu algoritma dari metode analisis komputasi drop tekanan dan formula dari Reference Thermodynamic and Transport Properties (REFPROP) dengan menginput parameter-parameter penting, sebagai bahan pembanding apakah algoritma tersebut dapat menghasilkan panjang pipa kapiler yang sama atau mendekati hasil seleksi panjang pipa menggunakan software selektor dan tabel seleksi yang telah ada. Untuk mendapatkan panjang pipa kapiler dilakukan komputasi dari algoritma eksisting dengan mengubah nilai dari beberapa parameter, yaitu rentang kapasitas pendinginan 0,15 kW – 0,25 kW; diameter dalam pipa kapiler sebesar 0,026 inch, 0,031 inch, dan 0,036 inch; rentang temperatur evaporasi (-25℃) - 10℃; rentang temperatur kondensasi ≥25℃ - 5℃; dan refrigeran yang diujikan adalah R22 dan R404A. Nilai parameter didapatkan dari software REFPROP dengan berdasarkan selisih penurunan temperatur sebanyak 1℃. Dari perhitungan akan diperoleh panjang pipa kapiler, yang kemudian ditampilkan pada tabel koreksi pipa kapiler. Dengan rentang panjang pipa mulai dari 0,7 m – 11 m. Untuk memvalidasi hasil perhitungan dilakukan analisis persentase error dengan membandingkan panjang pipa hasil perhitungan dengan algoritma baru dan aplikasi CapSel. Didapatkan hasil error terkecil 0,82% dan error terbesar 158,62%.

Abstract

The processing of limestone through the combustion process will cause air pollution at the combustion site and its surroundings. At the limestone processing site, Padalarang experiences relatively high air pollution. PM2.5 is one of the main pollutants produced by limestone burning, so it is very necessary to study the concentration of PM2.5 in the air in Padalarang and its surroundings. This study was conducted in Padalarang and its surroundings, where data collection was carried out in five locations, namely at the center of limestone burner, 1 km, 2 km, 3 km, and 4 km to the east of the burning center. Data collection was carried out for ten days, where each data collection was carried out for 12 hours, from 07.00 to 19.00. Based on the national standard of PPRI No. 22 of 2021, which is 55 µg/m3, the concentration in the limestone burning center and 1 km from burning center have exceeded the standard, which is 82.5 and 69.3 µg/m3. While PM2.5 concentrations at distances of 2 km, 3 km, and 4 km are below the national standard, namely 52.0, 51.6 and 50.2 µg/m3, respectively. Based on the Air Quality Index (AQI), the AQI at the burning center, distance of 1 km, 2 km, 3 km, and 4 km are Unhealthy, Unhealthy, Moderate, Moderate and Moderate, respectively. This means that areas less than 1 km away are not healthy places to live. The poor air quality in Padalarang is reflected in the much higher number of ARI cases compared to the surrounding sub-districts that do not have a limestone industry.

Abstract

In Asia, Africa and North America about 50% of children experience violence. While in Southeast Asia there are about 10% of boys and 15% of girls who have experienced one form of sexual violence in childhood. This research is a Quantitative research with a quasi-experimental pretest-post test design with control group. The research respondents were 4th and 5th grade elementary school students aged 9-10 years. The sample of the experimental group and the control group each amounted to 22 people. The intervention was given to students for 4 weeks. This research was conducted in 2 elementary schools, namely public and private elementary schools in the Lebak Regency area from July to August 2023. Data analysis used relationship test (Chi-Square) and T-test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between children's knowledge in preventing sexual violence against mother's work (p-0.025). The data also showed a significant difference in the knowledge of the e-book group with the leaflet group with a value of p-0.000.

Abstract

Berbagai data statistik menunjukkan peningkatan permintaan penggunaan AC di bangunan di Indonesia. Meningkatnya investasi, pembangunan infrastruktur publik dan swasta, akan memicu pertumbuhan industri refrigerasi dan tata udara dan akan meningkatkan kebutuhan tenaga ahli perawatan alat/sistem refrigerasi dan tata udara. Desa Ciwaruga yang terletak di Kecamatan Parongpong, Kabupaten Bandung Barat memiliki 97 RT dan 20 RW kepengurusannya terdiri atas sejumlah 60 pengurus karang taruna dan 101 PKK. Diketahui, sekitar 83,87% dari warga Desa Ciwaruga berada pada kategori usia produktif. Berdasarkan data prasarana perekonomian, di Desa Ciwaruga telah tersedia jenis pekerjaan yang terkait dengan keterampilan Teknik, khususnya bidang mekanik (bengkel las dan motor) dan elektrikal (elektronik). Hal ini menjadi potensi pengembangan kompetensi warga. Sehubungan dengan munculnya peluang peningkatan lapangan kerja di bidang tenaga ahli perawatan alat/sistem refrigerasi dan tata udara, maka seiring dengan tujuan dan fungsi Karang Taruna, Tim PKM Polban telah melaksanakan kegiatan pembekalan dan peningkatan kompetensi perawatan dan perbaikan AC split untuk Karang taruna Desa Ciwaruga. Materi teori yang diberikan berupa, konsep sistem refrigerasi dan tata udara, prosedur standar pengopersian sistem refrigerasi dan tata udara, serta informasi terkait perkembangan aplikasi AC yang berhubungan dengan aspek lingkungan dan penghematan energi dalam sistem refrigersi dan tata udara. Dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini juga disiapkan unit AC yang dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran agar peserta dapat lebih memahami cara kerja sistem pendingin dan mencoba secara langsung seperti implementasi di lapangan saat bekerja. Diharapkan, dengan kerjasama ini dapat meningkatkan peluang kerja bagi Karang Taruna Desa Ciwaruga di industri refrigerasi dan tata udara, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kondisi sosial dan ekonomi warga.

Abstract

Desa Cikande merupakan desa yang terletak di Kecamatan Saguling, Kabupaten Bandung Barat, Jawa Barat. Luas area Desa Cikande, yaitu berkisar 6,93Km2 atau sekitar 13,47% dari total luas Kecamatan Saguling. Dari segi geografis, lanskap yang mendominasi area di Desa Cikande adalah wilayah tanah lapang yang digunakan sebagai lahan pertanian. Desa Cikande merupakan desa yang memiliki potensi ekonomi dari pertanian yang melimpah, tetapi pemanfaatannya masih minimal. Kegiatan ekonomi yang telah dilakukan di Desa Cikande terkait dengan potensi pertanian ini, barulah berupa pertanian keluarga yang digunakan sebagai upaya peningkatan ekonomi daerah. Produksi pertanian harus ditingkatkan seiring dengan pertambahan jumlah penduduk yang pesat. Kebutuhan akan produksi-produksi pertanian meningkat, sehingga diperlukan teknologi untuk meningkatkan hasil. Salah satu faktor yang menentukan keberhasilan di bidang pertanian yaitu faktor pemupukan. Pengertian pemupukan yaitu penambahan bahan (yang digunakan untuk mengubah sifat fisik, kimia, biologi tanah) ke tanah agar tanah tersebut menjadi lebih sehat dan subur. Termasuk di antaranya yaitu pengapuran, pemberian legin, pemberian pembenah tanah (soil condition), pemberian urea dan lain sebagainya. Eco enzyme merupakan hasil dari fermentasi sampah dapur organik seperti ampas buah atau sayuran dengan air dan substrat gula. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan dari penelitian pengaplikasian pupuk organik eco-enzyme menghasilkan rata-rata pertumbuhan yang lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan pupuk organik bukan Eco enzyme. Dengan kata lain, pengaruh dari pemanfaatan Eco-enzyme mampu meningkatan hasil produksi pertanian sehingga berpotensi meningkatkan pendapatan usahatani bila harga tetap atau tidak turun. Dari hasil analisis permasalahan prioritas, didapatkan bahwa masalah kebergantungan pupuk subsidi sebaiknya diprosiataskan terlabih dahulu, karena dengan diselesaikannya permasalahan ini dapat membantu penyelesaian kedua permasalahan lainnya. Dengan dilakukannya konversi sampah organik ke pupuk organik, maka dapat mengurangi volume sampah. Selain itu, dengan menggunakan pupuk organik dapat meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian, sehingga secara berangsur dihaarapkan juga dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan petani dan masyarakat di Desa Cikande.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi pemasaran yang tepat untuk Bank Sampah Cempaka 2 yang terletak di RW 02 Desa Ciwaruga Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Pendirian Bank Sampah ini dilatarbelakangi perlunya pengelolaan banyaknya sampah yang menumpuk, yang berasal dari sampah rumah tangga dan terkumpul di wilayah RW 02 Desa Ciwaruga Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Namun dalam pengelolaan Bank Sampah Cempaka 2 ini terdapat kendala dalam bidang pemasaran produk. Berdasarkan analisis situasi tersebut, rendahnya tingkat penjualan produk bank sampah menjadi isu utama yang dialami mitra, sehingga diperlukan adanya kemampuan memasarkan produk-produk bank sampah melalui media online adalah permasalahan utama yang dihadapi mitra. Sebagai solusi atas permasalahan yang terjadi diselenggarakan beberapa kegiatan bersama mitra  antara lain Pelatihan sistem pencatatan yang berkaitan dengan produksi dan penjualan produk mitra, Pendampingan mitra untuk merencanakan program pemasaran produk-produk bank sampah, termasuk menentukan platform media online dan marketplace yang akan digunakan, Pelatihan pembuatan akun bisnis pada media online yang telah ditentukan dalam perencanaan program pemasaran, serta Pelatihan dan pendampingan untuk mitra dalam menggunakan media online untuk pemasaran produk-produk bank sampah. Kegiatan ini memiliki tingkat partisipasi yang tinggi dari mitra yang memberikan dampak positif bagi pelaksanaan program yaitu meningkatnya kreativitas mitra dalam pembuatan produk daur ulang sampai memiliki nilai ekonomi yang tinggi, membantu tercegahnya dari pencemaran lingkungan. Selain itu, melalui digital marketing (media online) dapat menghasilkan peluang pemasaran produk secara nasional dan internasional.

Abstract

Chest freezers generally use R600a or R134a as working fluids. When using R600a, the minimum cabin temperature is only -10oC, whereas when using R134a, it can reach -25oC. The purpose of this study is to calculate the evaporator length of a chest freezer that uses R290 as a refrigerant so that its cabin temperature can reach below 35 oC, lower than the cabin temperature of a typical chest freezer. Calculation of the evaporator pipe length is done using the forced convection heat transfer equation to calculate the heat transfer coefficient inside the evaporator pipe and natural heat transfer to calculate the heat transfer coefficient outside the evaporator pipe.  Based on the calculations, the chest freezer has a compressor capacity of 200 W, an evaporator length of 3.57 m, and a diameter of 3/8 inch or 9.52 mm. The test results show that the temperature of the chest freezer cabin can reach -36oC in the 36th minute with a cooling capacity of 289 W, while the input power and COP are 198 watts and 1.46, respectively. Compared to R134a, the use of R290 is more advantageous. In addition to lower cabin temperatures, it is also much more environmentally friendly, because the GWP (global warming potential) value of R134a is much higher than that of R290. It means that the use of R290 as a working fluid in the chest freezer will significantly reduce emissions of gases that cause global warming.

Abstract

This research investigates the use of condensate produced by the evaporator to cool the discharge and liquid lines in order to reduce electricity consumption in a residential split-type air conditioner (AC). The experimental setup used a 0.75 kW compressor with R32 refrigerant, where the discharge and liquid line heat exchangers were 20 cm and 15 cm long, respectively. Data were collected over 180 minutes at 5-minute intervals. Results show that using the liquid line cooler (LLC) alone reduced electricity consumption by 5.3% and increased cooling capacity by 2.3%. Using the discharge line cooler (DLC) alone reduced electricity consumption by 8.3% and increased cooling capacity by 7.3%. When both coolers were applied simultaneously (LDC mode), electricity consumption decreased by 10.9% and cooling capacity increased by 9.7%. The corresponding improvements in coefficient of performance (COP) were 9.1% (LLC), 18.6% (DLC), and 24.7% (LDC). These results indicate that using condensate to both the discharge and liquid lines is more effective in reducing electricity consumption and improving AC performance than cooling only one line.

Abstract

Perineal wound suturing is a common procedure during childbirth, affecting approximately 350,000 women annually in the UK and millions worldwide. Effective management of puerperal care with perineal sutures is critical to prevent infection and promote healing. This study examines the effect of black honey consumption as a complementary therapy to accelerate healing of grade II perineal wounds. Black honey’s antibacterial properties and cell regeneration capabilities support the wound healing process. The research was conducted at Mutiara Medika Clinic-Rangkasbitung in 2022 using a Control Group Posttest-Only design. A total of 38 postpartum mothers meeting the inclusion criteria were divided into intervention (n = 19) and control groups (n = 19). The intervention group consumed black honey in addition to standard puerperal care. Wound healing scores were assessed on days 3, 5, and 7. Statistical analysis revealed a significant improvement in wound healing for the intervention group compared to the control group (p = 0.003 and 0.000, respectively). The findings suggest that black honey consumption can serve as an effective complementary therapy to accelerate grade II perineal wound healing and reduce infection risk during the puerperium.
