Abstract

Silver metal found in the metal plating industry wastewater, industrial process photography and X-ray film process. Wastes that still lack the metallic ions of silver if thrown in the water without further treatment would endanger the life of organisms, mainly bacteria, plants and living things, as silver metal is a metal that is toxic in dissolved form. One separation technique can be used with supported liquid membrane (SLM) technique. This study aimed to identify the type of solvent and carrier compound to percent transport of silver metal from the feed phase to phase receivers with SLM techniques. This type of research used in this study was an experimental research in the laboratory. Percent transport of metal ions Ag + with techniques SLM had done by varying the type of solvent was n-hexane, kerosene, toluene and chloroform to dissolve the compound carrier TBP and D2EHPA with each concentration 1 M. The concentration of the metal ions Ag+ in phase receiver after separation techniques SLM was measured by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) at a wavelength of 328.1 nm, then the calculated percent metal Ag+ ion transport. Based on the results showed that the percent of the silver metal transport centipede on the use of solvent n-hexane and chloroform, with transport by 33.9% percent. While the percent of the highest transport to the use of compounds that was using the carrier of carrier compound TBP, with transport by 33.9% percent.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat pengolahan minyak jelantah menjadi biodiesel ini dilakukan di kelurahan Tanjung Karang Kota Mataram, dipilihnya kota mataram karena terdapat banyak sekali pedagang gorengan, warung tenda, industri rumahan, dan hotel yang berpotensi menghasilkan minyak goreng bekas, sedangkan Tanjung Karang merupakan wilayah pesisir Kota Mataram dan terdapat banyak nelayan yang sangat tergantung pada bahan bakar fosil. Melihat potensi dan permasalahan tersebut melalui program Ipteks Bagi Masyarakat membentuk suatu kelompok mitra yang mampu memproduksi bahan bakar biodesel dari minyak jelantah yang dapat mereka gunakan sendiri atau dijual sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan potensi sumber daya manusia dan melestarikan lingkungan hidup dari polutan minyak jelantah. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah dengan pola sekolah lapangan dengan titik tekan pada ekspolarasi pengetahuan, kesadaran terhadap lingkungan, dan keterampilan serta bentuk pendekatan yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan motivasi mitra agar mau dan mampu untuk mengolah minyak jelantah menjadi biodiesel yaitu dengan melakukan sosialisasi tentang pentingnya menghemat bahan bakar fosil, menjaga lingkungan hidup dan memproduksi bahan bakar alternatif dari minyak jelantah yang banyak dijumpai dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Kegiatan pengabdian ini telah mampu membentuk kelompok mitra yang mampu mengolah minyak jelantah menjadi biodiesel dengan spesifikasi biodiesel B-100 (100% Biodiesel), biodiesel B-75 (75% Biodiesel dan 25 % solar), biodiesel B-70 (70% Biodiesel dan 30 % solar) dan biodiesel B-50 (Biodiesel 50% dan solar 50%). Selain produk olahan yang dihasilkan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini juga memberikan wawasan baru tentang pemanfaatan minyak goreng bekas yang dianggap limbah dan dapat diubah menjadi bahan bakar berupa biodesel serta dari kegiatan ini terbentuknya hubungan kerjasama antara pedagang gorengan, industri rumahan dan hotel dengan kelompok mitra yang merupakan nelayan dari tanjung karang.

Abstract

The purpose of this KKN-PPM program is to accomplish a problem from cattles waste that has not been managed properly. Further management is directed towards making small-scale biodegesters into energy-independent villages. This devotion is implemented in Kidang Village of East Praya in Central Lombok Regency. The availability of an abundant source of cattle dung is spread in each private cowshed (there is no collective cowshed) because of the distribution pattern of Kidang Village residents in small groups, supporting the implementation of this program. The soil texture of cracked clay in the dry season, as well as the limitations of the water source cause the degister model are suitable for the condition. Degister applied is a small-scale biodegister, designated for 1 family with the number of cattle at least 2 cattles (cow). Biodigester is installed in 6 different location as a pilot program to Kidang Village community. Digester uses a 1200 liter plastic tank, with in let, out let, and out putt gas using a piping system. The digester is filled with ¾ part of the cattle dung, and ¼ of the part as the gas reservoir. The gas produced from the digester model shows a mixture of water : cattle dung with a 2: 1 ratio is faster than the 1: 1 mixture. In the mixture with a ratio of 2: 1, the gas has begun formed on day 11 with increasing pressures day by day, with the pressures of 73.26 Pa, 106.36 Pa, and 112.00 Pa.

Abstract

Kondisi masyarakat yang makin konsumtif menjadikan setiap individu semakintertarik pada hal-hal yang instan, selain itu jika kondisi ini tidak diperbaiki maka akanmembuat masyarakat tidak memiliki kreatifitas dan menghilangkan jati diri. Desa Sukaraja yang terletak di kabupaten Lombok Tengah belum tersentuh sepenuhnya oleh programprogram pemberdayaan dan pembinaan khusunya tentang keterampilan dan kewirausahaan. Perbaikan kesejahteraan sosial dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai pendekatan, seperti pemberdayaan Ibu-ibu PKK di Desa Sukaraja melalui pelatihan produksi deterjen cair. Tujuan dari kegitan ini adalah 1) meningkatkan kesadaran tentang hidup produktif dengan menigkatkan keterampilan, 2) meningkatan motivasi untuk berwirausaha, 3) membekali pengetahuan tentang deterjen cair, 4) meningkatkan keterampilan membuat deterjen cair, dan 4) ibu PKK diberi pengetahauan tentang peluang bisnis rumahan. Kegiatan pemberdayaan ini telah dilakukan dengan hasil adanya penigkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan tentang pembuatan deterjen cair, selain itu ibu PKK telah memulai memproduksi baik dengan cara kelompok dan individu untuk di gunakan sendiri dan di jual. Hasil tersebut menggambarkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdianyang dilakukan dapat dinyatakan berhasil, hal ini ditunjukkan adanya kesadaran Ibu PKK tentang pentingnya hidup produktif dan mandiri memalui berwirausaha.

Abstract

Limbah batu bara di Desa Taman Ayu menunjukkan bahwa limbah batu bara akan tersebar ke mana-mana melalui aliran air di selokan sehingga limbah batu bara ini selain membuat pandangan yang tidak bagus juga akan mengakibatkan polusi bagi kehidupan di sekitarnya. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membentuk kelompok produksi bata tanpa bakar dengan bahan dasar limbah batu bara. Seluruh peserta mendapatkan materi dalam 3 (tiga) kategori yaitu materi pelatihan pembuatan bata tanpa bakar, dengan materi seperti penyiapan alat dan bahan, pembuatan campuran, dan pencetakan dan pengeringan. Bahan baku yang digunakan pada pembuatan batu bata tanpa bakar terdiri dari limbah batu bara, semen Portland tipe I, dan larutan alkali. Kemudian semua bahan dicampur dan diaduk hingga merata dan homogen. Selanjutnya adonan dituang ke dalam cetakan yang yerbuat dari besi dengan ukuran 23 x 110 x 50 cm (SNI 15-2094-2000). Adonan dicetak dan dikeringkan dilakukan 1-2 hari pada suhu kamar lalu dilanjutkan dengan pemberian larutan alkali  untuk mengganti proses pembakaran. Pada penelitian ini membuat bata tanpa bakar dengan menggunakan bahan perekat semen dan limbah batu bara ini diharapkan dapat mengurangi limbah dan dapat menjaga kebersihan lingkungan serta dapat menjadi bahan bangunan alternatif pengganti bata merah yang ada dipasaran masyarakat sekarang yang pembuatannya memanfaatkan tanah pertanian dan merusak lingkungan.Training on making coal-based non-burning bricks at Taman Ayu VillageAbstractThe coal waste in Taman Ayu Village shows that coal waste will be scattered everywhere through the water flow in the gutter so that this coal waste will not only create a bad view but also cause pollution to the life around it. This activity aims to form a group of unburned brick production based on coal waste. All participants received material in 3 (three) categories, namely training materials for making bricks without burning, with materials such as preparing tools and materials, making mixtures, and printing and drying. The raw materials used in the manufacture of bricks without burning consist of coal waste, Portland cement type I, and alkaline solutions. Then all the ingredients are mixed and stirred until evenly and homogeneous. Then the dough is poured into a mold made of iron with a size of 23 x 110 x 50 cm (SNI 15-2094-2000). The dough is molded and dried for 1-2 days at room temperature and then followed by giving an alkaline solution to replace the combustion process. In this study, making bricks without burning using cement and coal waste adhesive is expected to reduce waste and be able to maintain environmental cleanliness and can be an alternative building material to replace red bricks on the market in today's society, which makes use of agricultural land and damages the environment.

Abstract

In this study a decorative chrome electroplating process has been carried out with a copper base metal, metal electroplating is often used as a means to provide a thin layer on the surface of other metals or substrates using metal which has advantages in terms of property and corrosion resistance. In decorative chrome electroplating nickel and chrome are used as coatings, nickel and chrome are used as coatings because of their protective and decorative properties, protective means they can prevent corrosion and decorative because they look shiny so they look attractive. Copper metal is chosen because of its huge application in the community. This study aims to measure the corrosion rate in copper metal after a decorative chrome electroplating process based on electric current used during the electroplating process. This research is important because during the electroplating process a decorative chrome electoplating technique will be obtained in the form of modules, and the module will be used to train students to increase their skills. This research was conducted in the IKIP Mataram chemical laboratory with a time of one year. The process carried out in this study sequentially is to prepare an electrolyte solution used for electroplating, preparing the copper base metal to be free of oxide or rust, nickel coating and finally coating with chrome. From the coating process carried out then the results will be analyzed the corrosion rate by immersion in NaCl solution at a concentration of 36.05 grams / L for 336 hours, based on variations in electric current used during the electroplating process of 0.5; 1; 1.5; 2; and 2.5 Ampere, the corrosion rate results were 0.029; 0.013; 0.017; 0.022; and 0.012 mm / yr; while the copper metal which is not coated with a corrosion rate is 0.308 mm / yr. Thus it can be concluded that copper metal coated with nickel chrome will effectively resist the lowest rate of corrosion in the current given 2.5 Ampere.

Abstract

Characteristics of electrochemical material that contains abstract concepts. Hence often have difficulty in teaching it. An effective approach as a solution is the SAVI-based interactive learning approach of interactive simulation. Learning SAVI-based interactive media has an animation program that is able to represent abstract concepts in electrochemical materials through visualization and not illustration of the concept in narrative. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of SAVI learning approach to students' critical thinking skill in electrochemical material. The type of research used is quasi-experimental research. The research design used is posttest only control group design. The sample was divided into two groups: experiment and control group. The research instrument uses critical thinking skill test through rubric. The results show that the SAVI approach has a positive effect on critical thinking skills compared to conventional methods. We conclude that the SAVI learning approach has been able to improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

It has been done plating a copper with process electroplating technique using a solution of nickel and chrome. The purpose of this study to find the best strength of the layer with the optimal flow. The strength of the material in the test with the impact test on a sample of coated copper at different work flows (1A, 1.5 A, 2.0 A, and 2.5 A). The results of the impact energy impact test obtained for each flow which is 2.1566 J / mm2; 2.3017 J / mm2; 1.9319 J / mm2; 1.9205 J / mm2. Abstract

Gondang Village is one of the villages that was badly damaged by the earthquake a year ago. In addition to swallowing fatalities, the earthquake also resulted in badly damaged houses and public facilities. Employers lose their business, so too workers lose their jobs. To start a new business, the victims did not have the capital and did not know what kind of business they would pursue. This service aims to provide skills to the community through chemistry entrepreneurship so that people can start entrepreneurship. Chemistry entrepreneurship involves the process of converting innovations from chemicals into products that can be marketed for commercial gain. The products to be made this time are a liquid detergent, dish soap, softener, and sof trika. These four products are basic needs in the household so this business opportunity is very promising. The KKN PPM program was held for 1 month. There were 93 people involved in this activity representing 11 hamlets. The stages of the KKN PPM activities are preparation, trial, production, and marketing review. All of these activities involved 20 students who worked with the community. The people of Gondang Village have received training in making liquid detergent, dish soap, softener, and hydrophobic along with a sales strategy. Product sales have increased in number based on the first and second evaluations. Community income also increased. The resulting product has been officially launched as a superior product in Gondang Village. The service team and students have successfully carried out community empowerment through chemistry entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Jumlah Ibu Rumah Tangga (IRT) yang banyak bisa menjadi sumber daya manusia yang potensial dalam membangun perekonomian keluarga dan daerah. Tetapi sebagian besar IRT tidak memiliki keterampilan untuk berwirausaha. Oleh karena itu, tim melakukan upaya pemberdayaan IRT melalui kewirausahaan sabun piring cair. Tujuan kegiatan ini ada dua, yakni memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan membuat sabun piring cair kepada IRT  serta meningkatkan minat IRT untuk berwirausaha. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Desa Gondang Kabupaten Lombok Utara dan diikuti oleh 24 orang IRT. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan. Metode PRA (Participatori Rural Appraisal) dengan tahapan penyuluhan, pelatihan, dan pendampingan.  Tingkat keberhasilan kegiatan ini diukur berdasarkan respon IRT dan hasil penjualan produk. Selama satu bulan pemberdayaan IRT di Desa Gondang telah berhasil dilaksanakan. Para IRT telah mendapatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam membuat sabun cair piring. Selain itu, IRT semakin termotivasi untuk berwirausaha sabun piring cair. Antusias peserta terlihat dari awal sampai akhir kegiatan. Selain itu, penjualan sabun piring cair sudah terlihat dapat meningkatkan pendapatan IRT.Empowerment of Housewives Through Liquid Dish Soap Entrepreneurship. AbstractThe large number of housewives (IRT) can be a potential human resource in developing the family and regional economy. But most IRTs do not have the skills to entrepreneurship. Therefore, the team made efforts to empower IRT through liquid soap dish entrepreneurship. The purpose of this activity is twofold, namely providing knowledge and skills to make liquid dish soap to the IRT and increasing IRT's interest in entrepreneurship. This activity was carried out in Gondang Village, North Lombok Regency and attended by 24 IRT people. The method of implementation uses. PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) method with stages of counseling, training, and mentoring. The success rate of this activity is measured based on IRT responses and the results of product sales. For one month the empowerment of the IRT in Gondang Village was successfully carried out. The IRT has gained knowledge and skills in making liquid dish soap. In addition, IRTs are increasingly motivated to become entrepreneurs through liquid dish soap. Enthusiastic participants were seen from the beginning to the end of the activity. In addition, the sale of liquid dish soap has been seen to increase IRT revenue.
