Abstract

Logo merupakan sebuah identitas penting bagi sebuah perusahaan. Akan tetapi, di lain sisi hal yang juga tak kalah pentingnya adalah bagaimana sebuah identitas tersebut dibentuk dan dibangun. Melalui penelitian yang berjudul “Redesain Logo Songket Jembatan Merah sebagai Strategi Komunikasi Pengembangan UMKM Sawah Lunto” tentunya menggunakan pendekatan dan strategi Desain Komunikasi Visual. Metode penelitian kualitatif diterapkan dalam penelitian dengan pendekatan Cyclic Strategy ini dimana sumber informasi data diperoleh melalui wawancara, dokumentasi dan studi pustaka. Hasilnya yaitu, narasumber mengakui adanya image baru yang muncul dari logo baru tersebut sehingga memberikan makna baru terhadap identitas perusahaan. Hal ini, tentunya akan berdampak bagi citra perusahaan di kemudian hari.  Kata Kunci : Redesain Logo, Songket Jembatan Merah, Cyclic StrategyLogo is an important identity for a company. However, on the other hand, what is equally important is how such an identity is formed and built. Through a research entitled “Redesigning Songket Jembatan Merah Logo as a Communication Strategy for Developing Sawah Lunto”, the approach and strategy of Visual Communication Design were certainly used. A qualitative research method was applied in the research with the Cyclic Strategy approach where data information sources were obtained through interviews, documentation, and literature review. The result is that the interviewees acknowledge the emergence of a new image from the new logo, thus giving a new meaning to the company’s identity. This, of course, will have an impact on the company’s image in the future.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPerancangan typeface yang terinspirasi dari ragam hias Saluak Laka Minangkabau Sumatera Barat ini merupakan bentuk upaya pelestarian budaya sebagai sumber inspirasi budaya, khususnya kekayaan budaya non bendawi (Intangible Heritage) yang ada di Sumatera Barat itu sendiri. Selain itu penerapan motif Saluak Laka kedalam eksplorasi tipografi atau spesifiknya typeface sendiri bertujuan juga menjawab dari permasalahan dalam penerapan typeface pada media-media publikasi yang bertemakan budaya atau kedaerahan yang tidak relevan dengan value produk atau destinasi tertentu. Metode yang digunakan dalam perancangan ini dengan menganalisis data visual tentang motif Saluak Laka dengan analisis 5W+1H serta menggunakan teori semiotika dan estetika. Jenis typeface yang dihasilkan merupakan kategori Display Typeface yang dekoratif. Proses rancangan dimulai dengan Sintesis, Penjaringan ide, Stilasi bentuk motif, deformasi, dan proses transformasi bentuk motif kepada anatomi huruf serta Scaning dan Editing sehingga menghasilkan fisik anaotomi huruf yang sesuai, untuk tahapannya ini dilakukan agar mendapatkan anatomi typefaceyang sesuai dan dapat merepresentasikan motif Saluak Laka namun tetap memiliki readibilty, legibility dan unity pada typeface serta pengaplikasian typeface pada media sebagai simulasi penerapan typeface. Keywords: Saluak Laka, Minangkabau, Typeface ABSTRACTThe design of typeface inspired by the Saluak Laka decoration in Minangkabau, West Sumatra, is a form of cultural preservation as a source of cultural inspiration, especially the wealth of non-material culture (Intangible Heritage) in West Sumatra itself. In addition, the application of the Saluak Laka motif into the exploration of typography or specifically the typeface itself aims to also address problems in the application of typefaces to publication media with cultural or regional themes that are irrelevant to the value of a particular product or destination. The method used in this design is by analyzing visual data about the Saluak Laka motif with 5W+1H analysis and using semiotic and aesthetic theories. The resulting typeface is a decorative Display Typeface category. The design process begins with Synthesis, Networking ideas, Stylization of motif shapes, deformation, and the process of transforming motif shapes into letter anatomy as well as Scanning and Editing to produce an appropriate physical anatomy of letters, for the stages are carried out in order to obtain an appropriate typeface anatomy and can represent the Saluak Laka motif but still has readibilty, legibility and unity in typefaces as well as the application of typefaces in media as a simulation of typeface implementation.

Abstract

This study analyzes the monumental painting titled "Lepas" using affect theory to understand how its visual elements trigger emotional and affective responses in viewers. Affect theory serves as a conceptual framework to explore the relationship between the visual aspects of the artwork and their impact on the subjective experience of the audience. Through a qualitative approach and aesthetic analysis methods, this research focuses on elements such as composition, color, scale, and symbolism within the artwork, and how these elements influence the viewers' emotional perception. The findings reveal that "Lepas" successfully creates a profound affective resonance, where viewers not only appreciate the visual aspects of the painting but also experience intense emotional reactions. The affect generated by this work transcends the boundaries of visual aesthetics, making "Lepas" an effective medium for emotional communication. This study contributes to a broader understanding of the role of affect in monumental painting, particularly in the context of visual art appreciation in Indonesia.
