Abstract

Memasuki tahun kedua pandemi Covid-19 menyebabkan para remaja mengalami stres akademik. Stres akademik merupakan suatu gangguan yang penyebabnya merupakan tekanan dari kegiatan belajar. Abstract

Sebagian besar siswa yang telah lulus dari Sekolah Menengah Atas akan melanjutkan pendidikannya ke dunia perkuliahan. Beberapa diantara siswa tersebut akan memilih berkuliah di luar daerahnya. Namun, dalam pelaksanaannya tidak semudah yang dibayangkan. Adanya sistem pembelajaran yang berbeda antara perkuliahan dengan Sekolah Menengah Atas serta budaya yang berbeda antara daerah asalnya dan daerah perantauannya membuat siswa mengalami culture shock. Culture shock pada mahasiswa akan menimbulkan masalah fisik dan psikis. Permasalahan tersebut dapat diatasi dengan culture intelligence. Culture intelligence menjelaskan mengenai komponen-komponen kecerdasan budaya dan skalanya yang dapat digunakan sebagai pedoman dalam mengatasi culture shock pada mahasiswa. Semakin tinggi skala culture intelligence yang dimiliki mahasiswa, semakin rendah tingkat culture shock yang dimiliki mahasiswa tersebut.

Abstract

University students are individuals who must always adapt amidst the rapid and uncertain changing times. Good psychological well-being is needed to achieve optimization in every activity, both academic and non-academic. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of counting blessings in managing the univesity students’ psychological well-being. This study applied a nonrandomized control group design with a pretest and posttest, consisting of 28 participants having psychological well-being from low to moderate levels. The participants were divided into two groups, the experimental group and the control group. The levels of psychological well-being were measured by using The Scale of Psychological Well-being (SPWB) developed by Ryff (2014) adapted by Rihlati (2018). Psychological well-being scores of the pretest and posttest were processed by SPSS 25 for Windows. This study indicated a p value of 0.394 (p>0.05), meaning that there were no significant different levels of psychological well-being between the group performing counting blessings and the group not performing counting blessings. Then, this study also found that there were significantly different levels of psychological well-being of the participants before and after performing counting blessings with a p-value of 0.002 (p>0.05). The efforts made by each student to interpret every positive thing in their daily life are beneficial to help them have good psychological well-being.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a disease with a high risk of death and the number of patients continues to grow. The majority of patients with CKD undergo hemodialysis as a kidney replacement therapy. By doing hemodialysis for a long period of time, there are various changes that often become stressors that cause anxiety in patients. This study aims to determine the effect of dzikr therapy to reduce anxiety levels. The research design used was one group pre-test post-test with total of 12 patients who had moderate to severe anxiety levels. The instrument used to measure pretest and posttest was Beck & Steer’s BAI anxiety scale (1990). The results of the anxiety scores obtained were processed using the Wilcoxon t-test to determine changes in anxiety scores after the provision of dhikr therapy. The result of Asymp. Sig. of 0.002 (p¡0.05) which indicates that there is a difference in the anxiety level of the participants and there are negative ranks of 6.50 which means that the subject experienced a decrease in anxiety scores. This study shows that dhikr therapy can be used as a method to reduce anxiety in hemodialysis patients. Gagal ginjal kronik (GGK) merupakan penyakit dengan risiko kematian yang tinggi dan jumlah pasiennya terus bertambah. Mayoritas pasien GGK menjalani hemodialisis sebagai terapi pengganti ginjal. Dengan menjalani hemodialisis dalam jangka waktu yang lama, terjadi berbagai perubahan yang sering kali menjadi stresor yang menimbulkan kecemasan pada pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh terapi dzikir terhadap penurunan tingkat kecemasan. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pre-test post-test dengan jumlah pasien yang memiliki tingkat kecemasan sedang sampai berat sebanyak 12 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur pretest dan posttest adalah skala kecemasan BAI Beck & Steer (1990). Hasil skor kecemasan yang diperoleh diolah menggunakan uji t Wilcoxon untuk mengetahui perubahan skor kecemasan setelah pemberian terapi dzikir. Hasil Asymp. Sig. sebesar 0,002 (p = 0,05) yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan tingkat kecemasan pada partisipan dan terdapat nilai pangkat negatif sebesar 6,50 yang berarti bahwa subjek mengalami penurunan skor kecemasan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terapi dzikir dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu metode untuk menurunkan kecemasan pada pasien hemodialisis.

Abstract

Memory is very necessary on daily life, especially in learning. Likewise as color, which has an effect on cognitive system that can help increasing individuals’ attention level. This research mainly focused to explore the effect of color on short-term memory. Research design that we used is Randomized Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design with 16 subjects that equally divided into experiment group (n=8) and control group (n=8). Control group was asked to remember animals pictures with black and white color series meanwhile experiment group with colorful pictures. The subjects of this research were 19-23 years old women that is a college student and is not having or experiencing color blindness. The data was analyzed by using Anava Mixed Design for examine the hypothesis. The result showed that our hypothesis was denied because there is no effect of color on short-term memory with F = 0.324 and p = 0.578 (p > 0.05). Therefore, the result, procedure and treatment process will be discussed further in this study.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan secara empiris bagaimana pengaruh pelatihan asertivitas terhadap peningkatan harga diri korban bullying dan memaparkan keefektifan teknik assertivie training dalam meningkatkan harga diri korban bullying. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik simple random sampling dan diperoleh  sebanyak 20 siswa kemudian dibagi 10 siswa eksperimen dan 10 siswa kontrol. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam menguji hipotesis penelitian ini adalah uji Gained Score dan uji Wilcoxon. Diketahui bahwa nilai rata-rata kelompok eksperimen sebesar 6,6 > 3,5 yang merupakan nilai rata-rata kelompok kontrol, artinya siswa yang mengikuti pelatihan asertivitas yaitu kelompok eksperimen memiliki tingkat harga diri yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang tidak mengikuti pelatihan asertivitas yaitu kelompok kontrol. Diketahui nilai Sig. (2-tailed) variabel harga diri adalah p = 0,011 (p < 0,05), artinya terdapat peningkatan skor harga diri yang signifikan setelah diberikan perlakuan pelatihan asertivitas. Kata kunci: harga diri, korban bullying, pelatihan asertivitas, siswa SMP. ABSTRACT: This study aims to empirically examine the impact of assertiveness training on improving the self-esteem of bullying victims and to evaluate the effectiveness of assertiveness training techniques in enhancing their self-esteem. The study employed a simple random sampling technique, resulting in 20 students who were divided into an experimental group (n=10) and a control group (n=10). Data analysis was conducted using the Gained Score test and the Wilcoxon test. The findings revealed that the experimental group had a higher mean score of 6.6 compared to the control group’s mean score of 3.5, indicating that students who participated in assertiveness training exhibited higher self-esteem than those who did not. Additionally, the Sig. (2-tailed) value for the self-esteem variable was p = 0.011 (p < 0.05), demonstrating a significant increase in self-esteem scores following the assertiveness training intervention. Abstract

Although there have been studies discussing written corrective feedback, there are still limited studies exploring how students engage with the written corrective feedback (WCF), especially the lecturer's global comments as WCF in the context of the EFL undergraduate thesis writing process. This interview study discusses students' engagement with the lecturer's global comments as written corrective feedback. Four students participating in undergraduate thesis coursework agreed to participate in this study. Data were mainly collected through interviews. The study indicates that the students demonstrated affective engagement, like becoming more patient and satisfied with their drafts, confident with their writing, and responsible with their tasks. They also demonstrated behavioural engagement, such as responding to feedback regularly and becoming more consistent with the content. They also show cognitive engagement, such as being more attentive, detailed, and focused in the coherence of citations and references with background, research questions, and methodology, and grammatical accuracy, based on the lecturer's feedback on the process of writing an undergraduate thesis. However, the findings in this study are still limited to identifying the types of engagement from the lecturer's global comments as WCF. Future research may include more deliberative discussion on localised comments and surface versus deep-level awareness of WCF.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana efektifitas pelatihan self-efficacy untuk menurunkan kecemasan berbahasa asing. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 10 responden yang terbagi dalam dua kelompok, 5 pada kelompok eksperimen dan 5 pada kelompok kontrol. Hipotesis yang diajukan peneliti dalam penelitian ini adalah ada perbedaan tingkat kecemasan berbahasa asing pada kelompok yang diberikan perlakuan berupa pelatihan self-efficacy dengan kelompok yang tidak diberikan perlakuan pelatihan self-efficacy. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Mann Whitney U Test yaitu uji beda dua kelompok non- parametrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan tingkat kecemasan berbahasa asing antara kelompok yang diberikan perlakuan berupa pelatihan self-efficacy dengan kelompok yang tidak diberikan pelatihan self-efficacy. Hasil tersebut dibuktikan dari nilai Z = -1.781. Kelemahan dan implikasi penelitan ini akan dijelaskan dalam paper ini. Kata Kunci: Foreign Language Anxiety, Self-Efficacy, Univeristy Students

Abstract

Stress is a reaction when the interaction between the individual and the environment is assessed as a burden that is felt beyond the ability of the individual. Stress can be experienced by anyone, one student. One therapy to reduce stress that can be done by Muslims with an Islamic approach is psycho-religiousness by listening to the holy verses of the Qur'an or murottal Al-Qur'an. This study aims to determine the effect of giving murottal Al-Qur'an on stress levels in Indonesian Islamic University students. Research participants were students of the Islamic University of Indonesia, male and female, aged 17-25 years, came from all majors, and were not deaf. This study uses an experimental design of one group pretest and posttest design. Research participants were selected by purposive sampling technique. The subjects of this study amounted to 15 participants. The scale used in this study is the DASS Scale (Depression Anxiety Stress Scale) with a total of 42 items with a reliability coefficient of 0.8806. The results showed that there was a decrease in stress levels in students after being given murottal Al - Qur'an. The decrease in stress levels had a significant result, namely p = 0.009 (p < 0.05). The effect size value in the data is -1.60 which is included in the large effect category. Thus, the research hypothesis can be accepted.
