Abstract

Materials for the public administration department must be updated to address challenges connected to the SDGs.The previous research findings portrayed the student's preferences in strengthening their reading abilities in SDGs contents, which is the first emphasis of this research; the second is the absence of specific English for Specific Material (ESP) reading material related to SDGs. Using action research, the phases of analyzing, exploring, designing, constructing, and evaluating will be anchored in this study, resulting in suggested reading texts with learning activities and exercises illustrated in lesson plans. The study's participants are students who have completed 60% of their classes. The findings of this study will also be assessed by substance and language specialists in order to validate and gain input for necessary adjustments to suggested reading materials and activities. The findings show 30.5% of students said materials regarding SDGs issues are extremely important, and 58.5% said it is essential to include them in their reading text to enhance their English. With 90% on the 'agree' scale, the expert judgment results support the applicability of the materials and activities designed. This demonstrates that the materials and activities designed are appropriate for the students in order to improve their reading skills.

Abstract

It is common knowledge that development planning at the village level is rarely based on valid and updated data. Students and lecturers in the Public Administration Department Parahyangan Catholic University, who have been working with villages in West Java Province for several decades encountered situations to support that argument. It is difficult to obtain valid and updated data to use as evidence in developing initiatives and programs for the village development. Students’ Community Development Program (Kuliah Kerja Lapangan henceforth KKL themed  Universities Contribution to Village Development  was initiated with the goal of  improving  the quality of data in rural areas (Garut District) by  collecting and updating village data,  developing the capacity of  village government leaders and staff to collect and update village data on their own. This paper discusses three major works that the Students’ Community Development Program (KKN) themed Universities Contribution to Village Development have made. The three areas relate to 1) elaboration of the logic of the program; (2) discussion of the process of data collection and analysis of data in the three villages; and (3) discussion of output and outcomes of the program. Research action, as Lewin argues, has three goals: to advance knowledge; to improve a concrete situation; and to improve behavioral science methodology. This paper presents a case study that shows the existence of a problem in a community, and concrete actions taken to solve it   through the application of knowledge acquired through Community Development Program (KKL) experience of Universitas Membangun Desa.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe global COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in Indonesia, has led many businesses and institutions to ask their staff to work from home. This policy has had a significant impact on female employees, especially those who are already married, because at the same time, educational institutions from elementary to higher education have also implemented a Distance Learning (PJJ) policy. These female employees were frequently required to make changes and divisions of tasks. This paper presents data from an online survey regarding the work and household aspects that affect female employees' performance during Work from Home. Adding to that is information on the type of assistance provided by the company/institution to help them enhance their performance productivity. According to the results of this online survey, 52.3 percent of respondents said their productivity has declined due to numerous work and household variables. Furthermore, the supporting variables that are expected to improve their performance productivity are mentioned. These bolstering variables were gathered from 47.7% of respondents who said their productivity had increased. Abstract

Indonesia continues to face persistent challenges in improving tax compliance. This study examines how public trust influences individuals’ willingness to voluntarily fulfill their tax obligations. A mixed-methods design was employed. Quantitative data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to 227 urban taxpayers, selected through purposive sampling based on recent tax compliance experience. Qualitative insights were drawn from in-depth interviews with selected participants to provide contextual understanding. Statistical analysis using PLS-SEM shows that trust in government has a significant and positive effect on voluntary tax compliance (path coefficient = 0.575, p < 0.01). Respondents were more likely to comply when they perceived tax revenues were used fairly and transparently. Interviews reinforced that fairness, transparency, and credible leadership are key elements that shape public trust. The findings suggest that building institutional trust is critical for long-term tax compliance. Policymakers need to shift away from coercive strategies and instead foster trust through transparent governance, equitable tax allocation, and consistent public communication. This study highlights the importance of behavioral and institutional factors in shaping tax morale in a middle-income country context
