Abstract

Land cover within Lore Lindu National Park is undergoing a continuous transformation driven by both natural processes and anthropogenic pressures. Accurate mapping and classification of land cover types are critical for informed conservation planning and sustainable ecosystem management. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of Sentinel-2A satellite imagery combined with the supervised Maximum Likelihood Classification (MLC) method in delineating land cover types within the Lore Lindu National Park, Central Sulawesi. The research was conducted from August to December 2023 and involved four primary stages: image pre-processing through layer stacking, land cover classification, field verification (ground truthing), and accuracy assessment. The classification results yielded an Overall Accuracy (OA) of 83.75%, indicating a high level of reliability. A total of fifteen distinct land cover classes were identified, with secondary dryland forest occupying the most significant proportion of the area (approximately 80.60%), followed by primary dryland forest, plantation areas, and smaller fractions of rice fields, mining zones, and water bodies. These findings underscore the utility of Sentinel-2A imagery, in conjunction with the Maximum Likelihood algorithm, as a dependable tool for land cover mapping in tropical protected environments. The results provide a valuable spatial basis for developing targeted conservation strategies and enhance the understanding of landscape dynamics within the park.

Abstract

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) are part of the important role in improving the country's economy. Along with the development of the increasing times, the quantity of the MSME sector also needs to be accompanied by improving the quality produced by increasing the competitiveness of products in the market, especially when viewed in terms of packaging, labelling and digital marketing. One of the micro businesses is the Kelana Pondok Culinary Group business which is located in the village of Penaga by producing lampam cakes. The problems faced by the Pondok Kelana Culinary Group business are that the packaging is still simple, unattractive product labels and product marketing that still covers certain areas and there is no product promotion. The purpose of this activity is to carry out packaging, labelling and digital marketing in the Pondokan Kelana Culinary Group business to increase the selling value of the products it produces. The realisation of problem solving faced by the Pondok Kelana Culinary Group business is to create social media accounts, update product packaging and labels, and promote lampam cake products on social media. The problem solving method used is by conducting training, socialisation and mentoring so that the Pondokan Kelana Culinary Group business is skilled and able to process, package, and market lampam cake products digitally. The results of this activity are in the form of updated packaging and product labels to be safer and more attractive, then the lampam cake business can be promoted on social media that has been created by the author for the Kelana Pondokan Culinary Group business in order to increase lampam cake sales and attract buyer interest.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which remains a serious public health concern. The objective of this study is to develop, analyze, and propose an optimal control strategy for the transmission dynamics of TB using an SEITRS mathematical model. The model consists of five population compartments: Susceptible (S), Exposed (E), Infected (I), Treatment (T), and Recovered (R). The methodology involves constructing the SEITRS model, determining the equilibrium points, and analyzing their stability under different conditions of the basic reproduction number. The model has two equilibrium points, namely the non-endemic and endemic equilibrium. If the basic reproduction number is less than one and certain conditions are satisfied, the non-endemic equilibrium is locally asymptotically stable. Conversely, if the basic reproduction number is greater than one and specific conditions are met, the endemic equilibrium becomes locally asymptotically stable. Furthermore, this study provides optimal control strategies in the SEITRS model. We use two control variables in this model, namely socialization and therapy, to reduce the number of infected individuals. The sufficient conditions for the existence of optimal controls are derived using Pontryagin’s Maximum Principle. Numerical simulations are then conducted to examine the impact of applying these controls on the system. The simulation results indicate that the simultaneous implementation of socialization and therapy controls is effective in reducing the number of TB-infected individuals.

Abstract

Chlamydia is a widespread sexually transmitted infection in Europe, often leading to complications such as rectal discomfort, throat inflammation, and reactive arthritis. This study presents a novel nonlinear delay differential equation model that enhances the classical SEIAISR framework to more accurately represent Chlamydia transmission dynamics. The model integrates biologically justified exponential time delays to reflect incubation periods and the delayed impact of interventions like condom use, routine screening, partner reduction, and microbiome health. We establish the existence and uniqueness of solutions using the Banach fixed point theorem and analyze the model’s dynamics by computing the basic reproduction number and studying equilibria and their stability via Lyapunov functions and Routh-Hurwitz criteria. A sensitivity analysis identifies key epidemiological drivers. For numerical simulation, we employ Euler’s method, the Runge-Kutta 4th order (RK4) method, and a specially developed non-standard finite difference (NSFD) scheme. The NSFD approach preserves critical properties such as positivity and stability, making it suitable for realistic long-term predictions. Results highlight the importance of timely interventions and show the superiority of structurepreserving numerical methods. The findings support the development of more targeted and effective strategies to reduce chlamydia transmission and complications among high-risk groups, reinforcing evidence-based decisionmaking within the healthcare system.
