Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of school accreditation on the increase in the number of new high school students in Barito Kuala Regency. The problem raised in this study is how school accreditation influences prospective students' decisions in choosing a school and how much impact it has on the number of new student enrollments. The approach used in this study is quantitative, with data analysis using inductive statistical methods (inferential statistics) and data processing carried out using Microsoft Office Excel software. The type of data used is time series data with an observation period of the last three years from 2022 to 2024. The data used in this study is secondary data obtained by third-party processing, sourced from official publication reports of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Dapodikdasmen, School/Field Data, and Literature Studies. The results of the study show that schools with A accreditation consistently have a higher number of new students compared to schools with B and C accreditation. However, schools with B accreditation still show high competitiveness like schools with A accreditation. Meanwhile, schools with C accreditation have a lower number of students, although it remains stable. Accreditation has been proven to influence public perception and serve as a quality indicator that plays a role in parents' and students' school choices. Therefore, improving school quality through accreditation is crucial for increasing school attractiveness and increasing the number of new students.

Abstract

This study examines the Human Development Index (HDI) as a primary indicator of human development quality, focusing on two core indicators: average years of schooling and per capita expenditure. It analyzes the comparison of these two indicators in Tabalong Regency during the period from 2012 to 2023, while taking into account income inequality as measured by the Gini Ratio and HDI classifications. A quantitative descriptive-comparative approach was employed. The data used is time series data from 2012 to 2023, consisting of secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Tabalong Regency. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and Independent t-Test with the assistance of IBM SPSS 25. The findings indicate that income inequality does not directly affect educational attainment or per capita expenditure, as reflected in these two indicators. Conversely, regions with higher HDI tend to show improvements in both average years of schooling and per capita expenditure. This study highlights the importance of integrated policy approaches in education, economic growth, and public health to promote inclusive and sustainable human development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of poverty levels on dropout rates at elementary, junior high, and senior high schools in Banjarbaru City. The method used is quantitative research with comparative descriptive analysis and policy analysis, and data processing using Microsoft Excel software. Time series data from the 2015/2016 to 2024/2025 academic years were obtained from secondary sources such as official reports from the Central Statistics Agency, the Social Services Agency, and related educational institutions. Data collection was conducted through literature studies, so no sampling techniques or questionnaires were required. The results of the study indicate a significant influence between poverty levels and dropout rates. Cempaka District, with 3,471 poor people, recorded the highest dropout rate. Landasan Ulin District, with 2,388 poor people, had a moderate dropout rate. Conversely, North Banjarbaru District, with 1,087 poor people, showed a very low dropout rate. These findings confirm that the higher the poverty level, the greater the risk of children dropping out of school, especially at the senior high school level.
