Abstract

This study aims to investigate whether: (1) the change in debt level is affected by agency problems, the probability of bankruptcy, firm size, and profitability; (2) the change in debt level is affected by multinationality (i.e., multinational corporations (MNCs) or domestic corporations (DCs)) and whether multinationality affects the relationship of agency problems, probability of bankruptcy, size, and profitability to the change in debt level. This study finds that in general, the change in debt level is negatively affected by the probability of bankruptcy and size. Furthermore, the changes in debt level for Indonesian MNCs are negatively affected by the probability of bankruptcy, firm size, and profitability. The negative effects of size and profitability on the change in debt level support the view of the Pecking Order Theory. However, for domestic companies, none of the determinants has a significant effect on the change in debt level. We also find that: (1) only size has a negative influence on the change in debt level when we include all interactive terms in the model; (2) if we include one interactive variable at a time, the probability of bankruptcy, firm size, and profitability have negative influences on the change in debt level; in addition, a positive impact of agency problems on the change in debt level is more pronounced for MNCs compared to DCs. Overall, we conclude that multinationality affects the relationship between agency problems and the change in debt level.Keywords: capital structure; Indonesia leverage; multinational corporations

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to find out how much personal education costs and motivation to learn about the learning outcomes of grade VIII students on integrated IPS courses at SMPN 3 XIII Koto Kampar. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using multiple linear regression analyses with the SPSS aid program. The sampling technique proportionate random sampling with a sample number of 66 students. Research instruments using poll. The results showed that the cost of personal education and the learning motivation of students both included in the medium category, while the results of learning in the category are sufficient. From the test results gained that the cost of education and motivation studied significantly towards student learning outcomes. That means that if the cost of education and motivation to learn high students, students ' learning outcomes will be good too. A partial cost of personal education has a positive effect and is not a significant impact on student learning outcomes. When the cost of personal education has increased, it will not necessarily improve student learning outcomes because of the influence of the cost of education is very weak towards student learning outcomes. Meanwhile, the motivation for learning has a positive and significant influence on student learning outcomes, meaning the better the student's learning motivation, the better the student learning outcomes.Key Words: Education, Personal Motivation, Learning, Learning Outcomes, Integrated IPS

Abstract

One of the demand of teacher performance assessment is that teacher must be active in improving his competence by participating in various kinds of training. However, this policy ultimately triggers teachers not to focus on improving their own quality, but only to focus on certificate quantities. Thus, it can be concluded that the increase in the number of certificates collected is not in line with the expected increase in competency. Given this problem, the Teacher Working Community (TWC) considers it necessary to improve the quality of teacher performance through training activities to become training providers. So in this case, the increase in the number of certificates collected by teachers will be proportional to the competencies they possess. The stages of implementing activities begin with socialization, followed by training, then mentoring and evaluation and the program sustainability stage. The result of holding this training was that the percentage of understanding of the participants was 72% which was categorized as Good. Apart from that, the response from the participants regarding the holding of this training was very good. The sustainability of this training program is to continue the training program for training organizers in other TWC clusters with a wider network scope.

Abstract

In the post-2010 era, Turkey faced a volatile geopolitical landscape marked by the Arab Spring, the Syrian Civil War, shifting alliances, and heightened tensions with Western countries. These political challenges have had significant economic repercussions, including declining foreign direct investment, deteriorating currency stability, and decreased investor confidence. Additionally, domestic political shifts have exacerbated Turkey's financial vulnerabilities, such as consolidating power under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and increasing centralization of economic decision-making. This study examines the effects of regional and international developments (European Union, the United States, Russia) since 2010 on the decline of the Turkish economy. Literature review approach were used to gather relevant academic papers, reports, and other secondary data. The thematic analysis was taken to make this research more comprehensive and cover the pivotal aspects. The findings highlight the need for policy reforms to navigate international political tensions and financial recovery. The research underscores the intertwined nature of politics and economics in Turkey, demonstrating how political instability has deepened the economic downturn. Moreover, Turkey is geopolitically within active social structures and has powerful political, social, and economic relations with Western and Eastern societies. Therefore, any event that develops in the East or the West can quickly and effectively affect Turkey's political, social, and economic structure.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze racial discrimination issues in three poems written by Countee Cullen: “Tableau” (1920), “Incident” (1925), and “From the Dark Tower” (1927). Racial discrimination is part of reality that still happens in society. This reality is adapted into works of literature and poem is one of the branches of literature. Countee Cullen is one of the well-known poets of the Harlem Renaissance era. There are several poems by Countee Cullen that depicted racial discrimination which is still in line with the issues nowadays. The research method of this research is qualitative research. Racial discrimination that has been portrayed in Countee Cullen’s three poems has been proofed that the related issues are still happening in society nowadays. The issues that are related to the three poems such as Interracial Married Couples, Racial Slur, “the N-word”, the Black Lives Matter Movement, and Equal Pay Equal Work for Black Women. These related issued are in correlation with Theodorson and Theodorson’s theory of discrimination. These data have been supported by online news that is happened in the United States.

Abstract

Early childhood education is very important in starting learning in a child's life. Early childhood education is carried out through the provision of educational stimuli to help the physical and spiritual growth and development of children, as well as to prepare children to enter education at the next stage. All potential that children have will be developed in kindergartens. As in Harapan Bunda Kindergarten, every day the children will be guided to learn and develop their potential. However, when the Covid 19 pandemic spread in Indonesia, children had to study boldly at their respective homes in accordance with government policies. Children will carry out learning boldly with guidance from parents and directions from the school. The role of parents becomes very important in this courageous learning. Parents' attention to children is one of the factors that must be considered in increasing early childhood learning motivation. In this study, the author will discuss the relationship between parental attention and children's learning motivation in carrying out assignments during a pandemic. To find out the significant influence of parental attention on the learning motivation of Harapan Bunda Kindergarten children, researchers used a quantitative approach with a correlational type of research, namely taking a sample of 34 students or all children attending Harapan Bunda Kindergarten. Data collection techniques to get about the variables of parental attention and learning motivation are by distributing questionnaires to all parents of Harapan Bunda Kindergarten students. Abstract

Pembangunan infrastruktur Ruang Kelas Baru (RKB) di madrasah merupakan elemen penting untuk meningkatkan aksesibilitas dan kualitas pendidikan Islam di Indonesia. Proses implementasinya menghadapi berbagai tantangan, seperti terbatasnya anggaran, kondisi geografis yang beragam, serta perbedaan standar kualitas konstruksi. Studi ini mengkaji implementasi desain standar sebagai pendekatan strategis dalam mengoptimalkan efektivitas pembangunan Ruang Kelas Baru (RKB) pada institusi madrasah. Mengingat meningkatnya kebutuhan infrastruktur pendidikan Islam, diperlukan metodologi konstruksi yang inovatif untuk memenuhi permintaan pembangunan fasilitas pembelajaran berkualitas dengan anggaran efisien dan durasi pelaksanaan yang optimal. Metodologi penelitian menggunakan pendekatan mixed-method melalui tinjauan literatur sistematis, survei terstruktur kepada stakeholder yang memiliki pengalaman dalam perencanaan dan implementasi RKB Madrasah sebelum dan sesudah penerapan desain standar, serta analisis data sekunder dari dokumentasi aktivitas pembangunan RKB di berbagai madrasah. Temuan penelitian menyediakan kerangka kerja komprehensif untuk implementasi model desain standar yang efektif dalam konstruksi gedung RKB madrasah di Indonesia, yang berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas, efisiensi anggaran, dan akselerasi timeline pembangunan.
