Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic disease with increased arterial blood pressure. The city of Jambi is ranked 5th highest, namely 18.82% of the 20 health centers and the one with the highest hypertension cases is Puskesmas Putri Ayu, which is 51.85%. Legok is one of the sub-districts located in the working area of the Puskesmas Putri Ayu Kota Jambi. The data obtained related to hypertension in Legok were 22 people (82%) elderly had hypertension in RT 35, then there were 45 people (48.89%) had hypertension in RT 28, and there were also 8 people (56%) hypertension in RT. 26 Kelurahan Legok. From the results of interviews with heads of families in RT 26, 6 out of 8 families said that families with hypertension did not know much about their illness and home care. There were 10 out of 22 elderly people in RT 35 who were interviewed who said they did not know the problems related to the causes and how to treat hypertension with celery leaf (Apium Graveolens L) traditional medicine which has many benefits, one of which is as an antihypertensive. Several compounds contained in celery have the ability to lower blood pressure, one of which is Apigenin which has properties as a vasodilator which is related to its hypotensive effect. The health problems above need to be solved and followed up. The activities carried out in Kelurahan Legok, Kota Jambi, namely by gathering people, especially those who experience hypertension, then carry out activities. This activity provides knowledge to the public about hypertension and demonstrations of making traditional medicine using celery leaves. The method used is to provide education about hypertension and a demonstration of making traditional medicine with boiled celery leaves. The activity is carried out for 60 minutes with 1 meeting. The result of this activity is that there is an increase in knowledge about hypertension and traditional medicine with boiled celery leaves for people with hypertension in the Kelurahan Legok, Kota Jambi after being given education and demonstrations.

Abstract

Immunosenescent is the occurrence of changes in immune function due to the effects of aging. This process will affect all cell types and pathways of immune response, both innate and adaptive immune responses. The presence of immunosenescence in the elderly cause’s susceptibility to respiratory tract infections. The principle of preventing the transmission of COVID-19 to individuals is done by avoiding the entry of the virus. In addition to immunosensor and the presence of comorbidities, malnutrition is a very common case in the elderly and also causes a low immune system. One of the characteristics of this phase, usually the elderly contemplates the nature of their lives more intensively and try to get closer to God. spiritual intelligence affects the anxiety of the elderly in the face of death. Elderly with a high spiritual level do not feel anxious about death. The general objective of this study is to identify the spiritual health of the elderly in an effort to maintain immunity during the adaptation period to a new life. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method with a phenomenological approach. The results of this study are the relationship between the elderly and others at a high spiritual level as many as 32 out of 42 (76.2 %), the elderly relationship with oneself is at a moderate spiritual level as many as 25 out of 42 (59.5 %), the relationship between the elderly and the natural surroundings are at a high spiritual level as many as 31 out of 42 (73.8 %), the elderly's relationship with God is at a high spiritual level as much as 28 out of 42 (66.7 %). The conclusion of this study is the spiritual health of the elderly in an effort to maintain immunity during the adaptation period to a new life at a high spiritual level.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive and chronic nutritional problems caused by inadequate nutritional intake due to the provision of food that does not meet the needs of the long term. The causes of stunting are factors of poor nutrition experienced by pregnant women and children under five, limited health services including services for ante-natal care, post-natal care, lack of access to nutritious food and lack of maternal knowledge regarding health and nutrition before and during pregnancy, as well as after the mother gives birth. In 2021, out of 27,615 toddlers in Jambi City, 179 toddlers are stunted. To date, of 31,373 toddlers, there are 803 toddlers experiencing stunting or 2.56%. For Jambi City, the prevalence of stunting under five in 2021 is 17.4%. Based on the preliminary survey that has been conducted, many mothers do not understand the knowledge, attitudes, and practices in preventing stunting. Based on an initial survey conducted at the Putri Ayu Health Center on 10 pregnant women, there were 7 pregnant women who still did not know how to prevent stunting in children. The health problems above are carried out as a solution to the problem and followed up in order to prevent stunting in children. Therefore the author does community service in this case providing education regarding the prevention of stunting in children by educating pregnant women at the Putri Ayu Health Center, Jambi City. The purpose of this activity is to provide education about stunting and its prevention so as to increase knowledge in preventing stunting with the target of pregnant women at PKM Putri Ayu. This activity was carried out for 6 months, starting from March - August 2023. The method used was by giving education 1x by giving a pre and post test to assess changes in knowledge before and after being given education. The resulting outputs are in the form of increased knowledge of pregnant women regarding stunting prevention and scientific publications in accredited journals

Abstract

Hypertension is persistent blood pressure where the systolic pressure is above 140 mmHg and the diastolic pressure is above 90 mmHg. In the elderly, hypertension is defined as a systolic pressure of 160 mmHg and a diastolic pressure of 90 mmHg. The causes of hypertension include emotional disturbances, obesity, excessive alcohol consumption, excessive stimulation of coffee and tobacco, drugs and heredity. These causes include the influence of lifestyle, while the lifestyle itself is a daily habit, in English "Habits". Habits are anything that a person does on a regular basis or regularly helps shape their unique lifestyle. Hypertension data in Jambi City in 2020 was 18.82% from 20 Puskesmas with male (14.5%) and female (23.17%) divisions, and the Puskesmas that had the highest hypertension cases was Putri Ayu Danau Sipin Health Center which was 4.16 or 51.85%. Putri Ayu Health Center has several target areas, including Legok Village. Legok is located in Lake Sipin District, Jambi City. The results of the assessment of hypertension sufferers obtained in Legok Village include several RTs, namely 35 as many as 22 people, RT 26 as many as 8 people, RT 28 as many as 10 people, RT 38 also as many as 10 people with hypertension. The results of interviews with RT 28 cadres said that 80% of the residents of this RT had hypertension. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of knowledge, lifestyle and the relationship between the level of knowledge and lifestyle in hypertension patients in Legok Village, Jambi City. The method for selecting samples in this study used total sampling with a total sample of 69 people with hypertension. The results showed that there were 35 (50.7%) good knowledge of hypertension patients and a healthy lifestyle in hypertensive patients (52.2%) of 69 respondents. The results of this study indicate that the p-value = 0.37, this indicates that there is no relationship between the level of knowledge and lifestyle in hypertensive patients in Legok Village, Jambi City.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic disorders characterized by increased blood glucose levels (hyperglycemia) resulting from defects in the insulin system, insulin action, or both. Where it has increased every year and is of course a special concern for patients with diabetes mellitus. Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease that has a negative impact on the physical and psychological sufferers, physical disorders that occur such as polyuria, polydipsia, polyphagia, complaining of fatigue and drowsiness. The city of Jambi with this research design is a quantitative research with a descriptive method with a research population of 10,233 and a sample size of 82 people. The results showed that 56.1% had a good level of knowledge and 44.9% had sufficient knowledge about diabetes mellitus. 51.3% of respondents experienced mild anxiety and 2.4% experienced moderate anxiety. 18.3% of respondents experienced mild stress. 23.1% of respondents experienced mild depression and 1.3% experienced moderate depression. The need to pay attention and look for psychological solutions related to diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Reproductive health is important in the lives of individuals and communities. According to WHO, reproductive health includes efforts to maintain and improve the physical, mental, and social well-being of individuals at all stages of life related to the reproductive system. Factors that influence reproductive health include social, economic, cultural, and environmental. This study aims to determine the description of adolescent knowledge and motivation about reproductive health at SMP Pertiwi 1, Jambi City and is a quantitative study with a descriptive analytical design. The study was conducted from September 2023 to August 2024. The number of samples was 65 respondents using the proportional random sampling technique. Data collection by filling out questionnaires was analyzed univariately. The results obtained based on age characteristics are at the age of 13 years as many as 27 respondents (41.5%), the characteristics of respondents based on the most classes are in class 8 totaling 27 (41.54%) and the majority of female gender 59 respondents (90.8%), for good knowledge 30 respondents (46.15%), sufficient knowledge 20 respondents (30.77%), lack of knowledge 15 respondents (23.08%) for good motivation 34 respondents (52.31%) moderate motivation 18 respondents (27.69%) and lack of motivation 13 (20%). It can be concluded that most respondents have good knowledge 46.15% and for good motivation 52.31%. It is hoped that the school will continue to work with various teams that can provide education and motivate their students to always carry out reproductive health care

Abstract

Reproductive health is an important aspect in the lives of individuals and communities. Factors that influence reproductive health include social, economic, cultural and environmental. School Health Efforts (UKS) are educational unit efforts to instill, grow, develop and improve healthy living skills. This activity aims to form adolescent cadres who care about reproductive health, increase adolescent knowledge about reproductive health at SMP Pertiwi 1, Jambi City. Junior High School (SMP) is a place of education whose students are teenagers, of course this needs to be equipped with knowledge and motivation related to reproductive health in order to avoid various problems related to reproduction, considering that teenagers are sometimes negligent and less concerned about their reproductive health, seen in the initial study obtained information from the student affairs teacher, this reproductive health problem has not been specifically given, for that it is necessary to form cadres who can be a bridge in providing information related to reproductive health for teenagers. The method of activity is lectures, questions and answers and discussions as well as providing questionnaires for pre-tests and post-tests. This community service was carried out from March 2024 to August 2024. The total number of participants was 10 people. The results of the pre-test and post-test with an average difference of 2-3 points, obtained an increase in knowledge of 26% and the formation of a UKS cadre team which of course will bridge the provision of information related to reproductive health. The output of this community service activity will be published in the Baiturrahim Health Service Journal.

Abstract

Mental health problems occur in 15 -22% of children and adolescents, but less than 20% receive treatment. The diagnosis of mental disorders in children and adolescents is behavior that is inappropriate for their age level, deviant compared to cultural norms which results in a lack or disruption of adaptive functioning. Poor adolescent mental health occurs due to a lack of knowledge or awareness about mental health. According to the Counseling Guidance teacher, the problems that are often encountered by students are emotional instability, attitude in speaking as they like, grade 9 students are confused about where to continue after graduating. One way to increase knowledge is to provide education to students about mental health in adolescents, including definitions, causes, signs and symptoms, management and prevention. Changes in students' attitudes from negative attitudes to positive attitudes about emotions, anxiety and depression. This community service activity was carried out for 20 students from Nurul 'Ilmi IT Middle School, Jambi City. Education can be carried out using various types of media, one of which is in the form of modules/leaflets. The provision of education is agreed upon in groups to facilitate the delivery of information and takes place in the hall. Community service methods include lectures, discussions and sharing experiences. The results were an increase in knowledge about mental health and changes in attitudes among students.

Abstract

Age 0-5 years is the golden age for toddlers because there is a rapid increase in growth and development. Mother must know how important her role is in the family. The problem is that the community still lacks motivation to participate in the KB Village program, their knowledge about how to detect growth and development and recognize signs of failure in child growth and development is still lacking and the KB Village program has not been optimally followed by the community. This condition is feared to have an impact on how the mother is raised in the family, how the mother cares for, cares for and provides the nutrition needed by the child. The target of this activity is the community in Kampung KB Bina Kencana, RT 32, Lebak Village, Bandung, Jambi City. The goal is to increase the knowledge of mothers about how to detect child growth and development and signs of failure in child growth and development to prevent stunting. The implementation method is by providing health education face to face or lectures and discussions with activity participants. This activity was carried out over a period of 6 months while the implementation of providing Health Education was carried out on August 8 2023 at Kampung KB Bina Kencana RT 32, Lebak Village, Bandung, Jambi City. After the activity was carried out, it was seen that there was an increase in the knowledge of the participants as seen from the results of the post test verbally, the expressions of the community who stated they were interested in the material and were motivated to come to the next activity in the KB Village as well as statements from managers who felt helped in running the program. The activity is planned to later be published in the Sinta 5 accredited Abdimas Baiturrahim Journal.

Abstract

Cholesterol levels in the blood contribute to the occurrence of myocardial infarction. According to the World Health Organization, more than 7 million people died from myocardial infarction throughout the world in 2002. The aim of this research was to see the effect of health education about controlling cholesterol on blood cholesterol levels. This research is a quantitative study with a pre-experiment design with a pretest - posttest design approach with one group to see differences in respondents' cholesterol levels before and after the intervention. The population of this study were residents of Talang Banjar Village, Jambi City, especially women from the gymnastics group on Rts 29 and 30, totaling 35 people. Sample selection used total sampling technique. The results of this study show that there is no difference in people's cholesterol levels before and after health education on cholesterol control with a p-value of 0.889 > 0.05. It would be best to carry out further research on other factors that influence health behavior. It is important to have the participation of local government officials in collaboration with the community health center in the Talang Banjar sub-district working area to continue to provide cholesterol prevention and control measures as well as carry out routine cholesterol screening. For the government in the Talang Banjar sub-district, this data can be used as a guide in making policies for determining regional programs. Research outputs are published in accredited national journals.Â
