Abstract

This study aim to determine the effect of the implementation of Cooperative Learning Model of Index Card Match Type on Student Activity and Learning Outcomes in the Sub Material of Ecosystem Components. This research method is a quasi experiment with two groups pretest posttest design. The technique of determining the sample using purposive sampling. The samples used are class X-10 and class X-3. The research instrument used observation sheets in the form of rubrics for learning activities and multiple choice questions for student learning outcomes tests. Analysis of the data used is the t test and Wilcoxon test for student learning activities. The results of the study concluded that there was an effect of the application of Cooperative Learning Model of Index Card Match Type to the activities and student learning outcomes in the Sub Material of Ecosystem Components. Keywords: cooperative learning model of index card match type, learning activities,  learning outcomes.

Abstract

Madinah Karyatani Modern Islamic Boarding School, a modern Islamic boarding school, is currently facing intensified competition from other educational institutions. This necessitates the adoption of effective educational marketing strategies to maintain and enhance its competitive position in the educational market. This study investigates the marketing strategies employed by Madinah Karyatani Modern Islamic Boarding School to promote its educational services. A qualitative research approach, utilizing in-depth interviews and observations with key informants, such as management, teaching staff, and students, was employed. The findings highlight the strategic use of Arabic and English in promotional materials, partnerships with other educational institutions, and the utilization of social media to attract prospective students from diverse regions. These strategies indicate a shift in the institution’s approach to education in response to a growing demand for value-based education in a globalized context. The novelty of this research lies in its exploration of modern marketing strategies in Islamic education and provides insights into responsive strategy development that addresses the dynamics of the educational market.

Abstract

Seagrass beds have roles and benefits in shallow water ecosystems, including producers of organic matter, habitats for various marine biota, and providing services that are beneficial for the fishing community. However, increasing development activities in coastal areas, have decreased their valuable roles, which also affects damage in seagrass beds in Indonesian waters. Therefore, information on species diversity and seagrass conditions, especially in East Indonesian waters, is needed. This paper aims to provide information as the initial study of the distribution of species diversity, conditions of seagrass beds, and challenges of seagrass management in eastern Indonesia. This study collected primary and secondary data from several data sources from seagrass monitoring and research activities. The assessment of conditions and categories of seagrass cover refers to the Decree of the state minister for the Environment (KMN-LH) of 2004 No. 200 and the 2017 seagrass monitoring guidelines. As a result of 24 monitoring locations ten species were found indicating that Eastern Indonesia has high species diversity. The results at 24 locations can be categorized as healthy seagrass conditions in six locations (25%) and around 16 locations (67%) as less healthy. Monitoring results after 2015 are predicted to change the diversity and seagrass conditions. The challenges of seagrass management in Eastern Indonesian waters, including the coastal environment changes, need to increase public knowledge and understanding of the role, function, and benefits of seagrass. Also, replanting and enhancement of seagrass-protected areas are essentially needed by the local government.

Abstract

Kedindingan Island is a part of marine conservation area in East Kalimantan. This island has a seagrass ecosystem, which could potentially provide ecosystem service in climate change mitigation as a carbon sink. However, there is limited information on the carbon content of the seagrass ecosystem there. This study aimed to estimate the carbon stock in the seagrass biomass on Kedindingan Island. Field sampling activities for collecting seagrass biomass were done in September 2021. A PVC core with a 20 cm diameter, 3 mm thick, and 80 cm length was used to collect seagrass biomass. The loss on ignition (LOI) method was applied to determine the concentration of organic carbon in the biomass. The results of this study found 7 species of seagrass in the study area, which were dominated by Thalassia hemprichii. The organic carbon concentration in above-ground biomass and below-ground biomass ranged from 30.8-31.7% and 29.4-31.4%, respectively. The average biomass was 4.99 Mg/ha and its average carbon stock was estimated at 1.53 MgC/ha. Based on the total carbon stock analysis, the above-ground biomass stored more carbon (79.28%) than the below-ground biomass.

Abstract

Investigasi terhadap kondisi lamun di perairan Teluk Balikpapan telah dilakukan, namun perhitungan stok karbon di sedimen lamun yang berada di perairan estuari tersebut belum tersedia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengestimasi cadangan karbon pada sedimen lamun di Pulau Kedumpit yang berlokasi di Teluk Balikpapan, Kalimantan Timur. Masing-masing sampel sedimen diambil pada 3 titik stasiun yang berbeda, dengan titik stasiun (0, 50 dan, 100 meter) dari daerah lamun yang dekat dengan dataran menuju ke arah laut. Pengambilan sampel sedimen menggunakan pipa PVC berdiameter 2,5 inch dengan kedalaman sampel 0 – 50 cm dan dipotong dengan interval 5 cm. Kandungan karbon organik dianalisis dengan metode Loss on Ignition (LoI). Hasil studi menemukan terdapat dua jenis lamun yaitu Halodule sp. dan Halophila sp. Berdasarkan visualisasi sampel sedimen bahwa jenis substrat di lokasi penelitian cenderung pasir berlumpur. Konsentrasi karbon organik sedimen pada tiga stasiun berkisar antara 0,34-2,64% dengan rata-rata 1,24±0,37 %. Nilai stok karbon sedimen per lapisan sedimen berkisar 63 hingga 114 MgC/ha dan rata-rata total simpanan karbon sebesar 95±27,6 MgC/ha pada kedalaman sedimen 0-50 cm. Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada nilai bulk density, karbon organik sedimen, dan stok karbon dalam sedimen (p-value < 0,05) antar stasiun dan kedalaman.   Seagrass in Balikpapan Bay estuary already investigated, however its carbon stock have not been measured. The objective of this study was to estimate the carbon stock in seagrass sediments in Kedumpit Island, located in Balikpapan Bay estuary. Each sediment sample was taken at 3 different sites (0, 50 and 100 meters) from the seagrass area near to the land towards the sea. Sediment samples were taken using a 2.5 inch diameter PVC core with a depth of 0 - 50 cm and were sliced at 5 cm interval. Organic carbon content was analysed using the Loss On Ignition (LOI) method. Study results showed that two seagrass species were found in the study site, such as Halodule sp and Halophila sp. Based on visual observation at sediment samples, the substrate type in the study site tends to be muddy sand. Sediment organic carbon concentration at three stations ranged from 0.34-2.64%, with average at 1,24±0,37%%. Sediment carbon stock values of sediment layers ranged from 63 to 114 MgC/ha and the total average carbon storage was 95±27,6 MgC/ha. The value of bulk density, sediment organic carbon, and carbon stock in sediment were significantly different (p-value < 0.05) between the sites and the depth of sediment layers.

Abstract

This research aims to find out more about efforts to increase numeracy literacy skill of class VII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Prambon by utilizing the Think, Pair, Share learning model with the support of case videos. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted collaboratively with class teachers in 2 cycles. The subjects in this research were 13 grade VII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Prambon. Methods of gathering data include observation, interviews, assessments, field notes, and documentation. The assessment consists of questions tailored to the benchmarks of numeracy literacy skills. The question format is a descriptive. The study’s findings indicated that there was a rise in numerical literacy prooficiency in every measure. The firs indicator in cycle 1 had an average value of 63, then in cycle 2 it became 81. The second indicator in cycle 1 had an average value of 62, then in cycle 2 it increased to 78. The third indicator in cycle 1 had an average value of 63, then in cycle 2 the average value was 80. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of Think, Pair, Share learning model with the support of case videos can improve students numeracy literacy skill. Abstract

Diabetes Melitus merupakan salah satu penyakit kronis paling umum di dunia, terjadi ketika produksi insulin pada pankreas tidak mencukupi atau pada saat insulin tidak dapat digunakan secara efektif oleh tubuh. Diabetes Melitus adalah salah satu penyakit degeneratif yang menjadi perhatian penting karena merupakan bagian dari empat prioritas penyakit tidak menular yang selalu mengalami peningkatan setiap tahun dan menjadi ancaman kesehatan dunia pada era saat ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah adanya hubungan antara dukungan keluarga dengan kepatuhan kontrol kadar gula darah pada penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan desain observasional dengan pendekatan cros- sectional. Teknik pengambilan sempel dengan metode nonprobability sampling dengan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian menggunakan uji chi square dengan nilai sig 0,000 (P value < 0,05), hasil tersebut menunjukan bahwa Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak yang berarti bahwa terdapat hubungan antara dukungan keluarga dengan kepatuhan kontrol gula darah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terdapat pengaruh hubungan antara dukungan keluarga dengan kepatuhan kontrol kadar gula darah pada penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2.

Abstract

Abstract Background this research is civic education in elementary school still use teacher center consequently the students are not active in learning. Those problems led to low studens achievement. This research aimed to describe improving the student achievement in civic education by method at grade IV SDN 06 Sumani. Kind of this research is an action research with quantitative and qualitative approach. The result of this research showed that, the student achievement in cycle I was 66,91 and this increased to 77,94 in cycle II. From the result it can be concluded that method increase the student learning achievement in education at grade IV SDN 06 Sumani. Kata Kunci :Hasil belajar, pembelajaran PKN, metode sosiodrama

Abstract

ABSTRACT Teacher professionalism in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of Islamic education amid the dynamics of globalization and national regulatory demands regarding teacher qualification standards. This study aims to examine the professionalism of pesantren teachers by analyzing the diversity of their educational backgrounds and its influence on teaching practices and institutional quality. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, field observations, and document analysis. Informants were selected purposively based on the criteria of having at least two years of teaching experience and diverse educational backgrounds. The findings reveal that variations in educational qualifications influence the characteristics of teacher professionalism in pesantren. Teachers with formal teacher education backgrounds tend to demonstrate more systematic lesson planning and classroom management skills. In contrast, teachers from non-teaching educational backgrounds are more prominent in providing spiritual role modeling and character development for students. These two characteristics complement each other in supporting the quality of education in pesantren. This study concludes that strengthening teacher professionalism in Islamic boarding schools requires the integration of modern pedagogical competencies with the spiritual values that characterize pesantren education. Therefore, teacher capacity development should be promoted through continuous training programs, professional learning communities, and internal mentoring systems that maintain a balance between educational innovation and the preservation of pesantren traditions. ABSTRAK Profesionalisme guru di lingkungan pesantren menjadi faktor penting dalam menjaga mutu pendidikan Islam di tengah dinamika globalisasi dan tuntutan regulasi nasional terkait standar kualifikasi pendidik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji profesionalisme guru pesantren dengan menelaah keberagaman latar belakang pendidikan serta pengaruhnya terhadap praktik pembelajaran dan kualitas kelembagaan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur, observasi lapangan, dan studi dokumentasi. Informan dipilih secara purposive dengan kriteria guru yang memiliki pengalaman mengajar minimal dua tahun serta latar belakang pendidikan yang beragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variasi kualifikasi pendidikan memengaruhi karakter profesionalisme guru pesantren. Guru dengan latar belakang pendidikan keguruan cenderung memiliki kemampuan perencanaan dan pengelolaan pembelajaran yang lebih sistematis. Sementara itu, guru dengan latar belakang non-keguruan lebih menonjol dalam keteladanan spiritual dan pembinaan karakter santri. Kedua karakteristik tersebut saling melengkapi dalam mendukung kualitas pendidikan pesantren. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penguatan profesionalisme guru pesantren memerlukan integrasi antara kompetensi pedagogik modern dan nilai-nilai spiritual yang menjadi ciri khas pendidikan pesantren. Oleh karena itu, pengembangan kapasitas guru perlu dilakukan melalui pelatihan berkelanjutan, komunitas belajar profesional, serta sistem mentoring internal yang mampu menjaga keseimbangan antara inovasi pendidikan dan pelestarian tradisi pesantren.
