Abstract

The natural role of women includes pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. However, these joyous moments can sometimes become frightening or even traumatic, especially for first-time mothers. Many expectant mothers feel pressured and fear that they will not be able to provide breast milk (ASI) for their babies. This fear often leads to real difficulties in breastfeeding. Breast milk is the best food for babies up to the age of two years. UNICEF states that exclusive breastfeeding can prevent up to 1.3 million deaths in children under the age of five. In Indonesia, many mothers still do not provide exclusive breastfeeding to their babies, and only a small percentage of newborns are breastfed within the first hour of life. The main reason for not breastfeeding or never breastfeeding is the lack of milk production, leading to the introduction of formula milk for infants aged 0-5 months. This research is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted at the Putri Ayu Public Health Center in Jambi City from October 2023 to July 2024. The population in this study consists of all pregnant women at the Putri Ayu Public Health Center, and the sample was selected using accidental sampling techniques. Data analysis was performed using univariate analysis. The research findings indicate that mothers' knowledge about the utilization of local food to increase breast milk production involved 18 respondents. The majority of respondents (60%) had a moderate level of knowledge. It is recommended that healthcare providers and families continue to support pregnant women in utilizing local food to enhance breast milk production. This effort aims to achieve the exclusive breastfeeding program, ultimately reducing maternal mortality rates (AKI), infant mortality rates (AKB), and stunting.

Abstract

Menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) is a health problem often experienced by fertile women and can disrupt daily activities. The prevalence of dysmenorrhea in Indonesia is quite high, with 54.98% primary dysmenorrhea and 9.36% secondary dysmenorrhea. The use of natural ingredients such as ginger is a popular alternative because ginger contains high levels of essential oils and the chemical content of gingerol in ginger can block prostaglandins, thereby reducing pain during menstruation. Ginger is also readily available and inexpensive. This study aims to determine the effect of ginger water on dysmenorrhea pain in adolescent girls in the Danausipin sub-district of Jambi City. The research method used was a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-post test. The sample was 22 adolescent girls who experienced menstrual pain and were willing to be respondents. Menstrual pain was measured before and after ginger water administration using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). The results of the study showed that before the intervention, 50% of the pain scale felt was mild and moderate menstrual pain, after the intervention, 22.7% did not experience pain and 63.6% experienced mild pain. There was an effect of giving ginger water on reducing menstrual pain with a P value of 0.000. Ginger water can be used as an alternative natural treatment for menstrual pain

Abstract

The prevalence of anemia in adolescents in the world ranges from 40-88%, where 22.2% of anemia sufferers in Indonesia are aged ≥ 15 years. One of the government's strategies to overcome the problem of anemia in adolescent girls is by providing blood supplementation tablets and folic acid through the Iron Nutrition Anemia Prevention and Management Program (PPAGB). This program has not been effective, research results show that the level of compliance with the consumption of blood supplement tablets is still low, mainly due to the unpleasant taste and side effects caused as well as a lack of understanding of how to take the tablets. The aim of implementing the activity is to increase knowledge and change attitudes for female students at SMAN 13 Jambi City. One of the solutions implemented is providing education about anemia and blood supplement tablets (TTD) to young women at SMAN 13. The method of implementing the service is through education. Material is provided through lectures, questions and answers and giving leaflets. Evaluate the knowledge of young women before education by doing a pretest, then they are given education once for 30 minutes, and after the education ends, another evaluation is carried out in the form of a posttest with the same questions. Service activities were carried out from March to July 2023 for a group of 17 female students. The assessment results showed that the average pretest knowledge of teenagers was 5, and the posttest score was 8.2 with a difference in score of 3.2. It was concluded that there had been an increase in adolescent knowledge regarding the consumption of blood supplement tablets (TTD) in an effort to prevent anemia. The resulting outcome is an increase in teenagers' knowledge about consuming blood supplement tablets. Suggestions for schools and health centers to monitor female students in consuming blood supplement tablets so as to reduce cases of anemia in the school itself and nationally.

Abstract

Infant and toddler health is one of the determinants of the health development index in Indonesia. Fulfillment of nutrition is an important factor in maintaining the health of infants and toddlers so as to avoid stunting. This incident can be reduced by exclusive breastfeeding. The achievement of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia is still far from the national target. One of the reasons is due to less milk production. There are many local plants in Indonesia that can be used as breast milk boosters, including katuk leaves, moringa leaves, young papaya, banana heart and others. Poor nutritional status is Processing of local food ingredients such as Moringa leaves can be an alternative for fulfilling toddler nutrition in preventing stunting. Moringa is a plant that is still not fully utilized. The nutritional content of Moringa includes essential amino acids, excellent protein, phenolic amino acids, a source of vitamins and β-carotene. The target of this community service activity is mothers who have a total of 56 toddlers. There is still a lack of knowledge of mothers about processing Moringa leaves to increase milk production. Therefore, the provision of health education is carried out, namely regarding Education on Processing Moringa Leaves to increase breast milk production in the working area of the Tangkit Health Center using demonstration and lecture methods through leaflet and powerpoint media. The output target of this activity is to increase mother's knowledge about processing Moringa leaves to increase milk production. The results of this activity are published in the form of scientific publications in accredited national journals

Abstract

Menstruation is a process of shedding the inner lining of the uterine wall that occurs periodically in women of childbearing age. During menstruation, most young women experience discomfort such as stomach cramps caused by uterine muscle contractions due to an increase in the hormone prostaglandin, pain during menstruation/dysmenorrhea can cause anxiety and disruption of activities. Pain can be treated with pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies, one of which is acupressure on acupuncture points to relieve pain. This community service aims to provide knowledge and ways to overcome pain during menstruation with acupressure at the SP6 (Sayinjiao), Li4 (Hequ) and ST36 (Zusanli) acupuncture points. The method used is a question and answer lecture and showing the location of acupuncture points and practicing acupressure. Before being given education, the students' level of knowledge about menstruation and how to deal with menstrual disorders was first assessed, then the pain scale during menstruation was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). The second stage is the delivery of material about menstruation and menstrual disorders (dysminorrhea) and acupressure to treat dysmenorrhea. As well as practicing acupressure, the third stage is a posttest to measure the students' knowledge after being given education and practicing acupressure. This community service will be carried out at SMAIT AL-Azhar Jambi City. with 75 respondents. Abstract

The process of decreasing the height of the uterine fundus begins since the birth of the placenta if this process fails or there is a problem called subinvolution which can trigger bleeding. One effort to prevent subinvolution is to provide complementary therapy with pineapple juice. Pineapple contains a lot of bromelain enzymes that are not found in other fruits. Bromelain enzymes are one of the enzymes that have proteolytic properties that will shorten the uterine fundus muscles so that there is a decrease in the height of the uterine fundus (HUF). This study aims to determine the effect of pineapple juice on the height of the uterine fundus in postpartum mothers. The research method used is a literature review. The source of literature search uses the Google Scholar database. The results of the literature study obtained 5 journals that met the inclusion criteria where the results of the data analysis showed that before giving pineapple juice, a HUF of 13.70 cm was obtained and after giving pineapple juice for 7 days, the HUF measurement results were 5.0 cm. There is a difference in the average decrease in HUF before and after being given pineapple juice (Ananas Comosus (L) Merr) between the experimental group and the control group. The difference in mean value is 2.06 with a significance of P-value = 0.000. Giving pineapple juice is effective in helping to accelerate the process of uterine involution and reducing the height of the uterine fundus. Midwives should provide education and information about the benefits of pineapple juice in accelerating uterine involution after delivery.
