Abstract

This study was aimed at assessing the response of sweetcorn plant on various dosages ofbiofertilizer and synthetic (N, P and K) fertilizer. The study was done in May to September 2014 atthe Agrotechnology Trial Farm of Djuanda University. A factorial completely randomized designwas used. The first and second factor were biofertilizer and synthetic fertilizer dosage (0%, 50 %,100% and 150% R/Recommendation). Results showed that adding biofertilizer and syntheticfertilizer until 100% R increased leaf area, length and weight of ear, root and biomass weight andTSS (total soluble solids) content. At various level of biofertilizer, increasing synthetic fertilizerdosages until 100% R could improve plant height, leaves and root number, stem girth, ear lengthand accelerate growing of staminate and pistillate. Meanwhile at various degree of syntheticfertilizer dosage, raising bofertilizer dosage until 150% R tend to higher plant height, and until100% R caused stem girth and root length greater, but delayed staminate and pistillate growth.Application of biofertlizer and synthetic fertilizer tend to increasing pH and cation exchangecapacity of growth medium. Keywords: weight of ear, pH, cation enxchange capacity

Abstract

Abstract

Katuk is a vegetable and biopharmaceutical plant, so it needs to be cultivated using environmentally friendly fertilizers, to produce products that are free from chemical residues.  This study was aimed at assessing the agronomic performance of several accessions of katuk plants of Bogor origin at various compositions of N-organic fertilizer. A factorial completely randomized design with two factors was used. The first factor was katuk accessions consisting of Dramaga, Cinangneng1, Cinangneng2, and Katulampa.  The second factor was N fertilizer compositions consisting of 100% N-urea, 100% N-cow urine, 100% N-MSC, 75% N-urea + 25% N-cow urine, 75% N-urea + 25% N-MSC, 50% N-urea + 50% N-cow urine, 50% N-urea + 50% N-MSC, 25% N-urea + 75% N-cow urine, 25% N-urea + 75% N-MSC, 0% N-urea + 0% N-cow urine + 0% N-MSC. Results showed that Katulampa katuk plants had the highest number of leaves, number of leaflets, fresh weight, dry weight, nitrate content, and total dissolved solid content. N fertilizer compositions gave significant effects on all growth and production parameters excluding stem diameter and number of leaflets. The use of 75% Ua + 25% Kp fertilizer composition significantly increased plant height, number of leaves, number of buds, total bud length, fresh weight, dry weight, nitrate content, and total dissolved solid content. The best quality katuk plants with the highest chlorophyll, carotene, and vitamin C contents were shown by Dramaga accession treated with 50% Urea + 50% cow urine and 50% Urea + 50% MSC, respectively.

In the livestock sub-sector, many partnership models have been developed including partnerships in broiler business. In order to improve the welfare of farmers, especially broiler breeders in Bogor regency, good structuring is needed in an effective and efficient supply chain partnership institution. Thus, it can increase farmers' income, and ensure the sustainability of people's livestock business, especially broiler business. This study aims to: 1) Identify institutional supply chain management of broiler businesses; 2) Analyze the performance of supply chain partnership institutional broiler businesses in Bogor regency, West Java province. Primary data is obtained through observation and in-depth interviews (in-depth interviews, while secondary data is obtained from related institutions and literature. Collected data is processed quantitatively and qualitatively descriptive. The results of the study conclude: (1) Broiler breeders, namely: Farmers Mandiri, and partnership breeders, which are divided into partnerships on the basis of verbal agreements and officially partnered farmers in partnership. Independent breeders are those who manage and finance all production input needs needed during the production process and are free to market their products. Partner farmers are farmers who have been bound by cooperation both verbally and in writing with companies supplying DOC, feed, vaccines and medicines, so that these farmers only prepare pens, labor and livestock equipment, because all the needs of DOC, feed and medicine and vaccines have been provided by companies that partner with a. (2) Forms of cooperation in marketing live chicken and meat, namely breeders selling live chickens to traders / brokers who then market to retailers in conventional markets. Marketing in the form of broiler is aimed at consumers (restaurants / restaurants. Independent farmers generally market products through traders), independent farmers are free to market to any collector, while farmers in partnership are obliged to market their products to the core. get higher profits compared to breeders partnering verbally and independently.
