Abstract

AbstractIn Indonesia, religious moderation is crucial for it promotes tolerance and prevents the growth of extreme ideas, especially among the younger population. Despite its significance, there is a lack of study on students' comprehension of religious moderation in areas like West Java, where intolerance is more prevalent and leaves a void in discussing educational tactics to raise awareness. This study aimed to assess how West Javan students perceive religious moderation and investigate methods for improving their knowledge and utilization of its tenets. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach; data were gathered from 1,200 students actively involved in campus organizations at five West Javan universities. Questions about national identity, religious behaviors, and religious moderation were included in surveys disseminated using Google Forms. Clustering techniques were used to group student response patterns, and descriptive statistics, such as mean analysis, were used to evaluate general tendencies. The results highlighted the necessity for focused interventions, showing that while 43% of students lack adequate understanding, 57% of students comprehend religious moderation. There are, however, still gaps in addressing misunderstandings and extremism susceptibility despite the broad acceptance of Pancasila as a unifying concept and the general support for diversity and tolerance. These findings underscored the need for specialized educational programs that enhance students' ability to foster tolerance and unity while highlighting students' potential as agents of inclusion and harmony. Future studies should therefore concentrate on evaluating the success of these initiatives, comparing different geographical areas, and investigating how social media affects students' attitudes toward religious moderation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the process of implementing David Ausubel's learning theory in Islamic Religious Education learning at the Samin School of the Odesa Foundation in Cikadut Village, Cimenyan District, Bandung Regency. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. In implementing David Ausubel's meaningful learning theory in Islamic religious education learning, especially in ethics and moral education, two stages are used, namely the first, the planning stage. The results of the study show that the planning process begins with knowing the background knowledge of students where it is seen that the low understanding of ethics and manners is shown through the attitudes of students so that it is necessary to instill these Islamic values. The stage or process of implementing Islamic religious education learning is carried out through audio-visual, this is because students are so enthusiastic to participate in the teaching and learning process, so they can easily understand the teaching material after repeating the material using the question and answer method.

Abstract

This research investigates the effectiveness of a Project-Based Learning (PBL) model in enhancing Arabic creative writing skills among eighth-grade students at MTs Al-Mukhtariyah Tasikmalaya. Employing a classroom action research design conducted in two cycles, the research integrated systematic planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Students’ creative writing performance was assessed using an analytic writing rubric covering idea development, linguistic accuracy, creativity, and text organization. The findings reveal a notable improvement in students’ writing competence, as indicated by an increase in the mean score from 59.28 in the first cycle to 70 in the second cycle, accompanied by a rise in learning mastery from 52.38% to 71.43%. Beyond quantitative gains, the PBL model fostered higher learner engagement, collaboration, and creative expression in Arabic writing tasks. This research contributes to Arabic language pedagogy by providing empirical evidence on the pedagogical value of PBL at the lower secondary level and highlights its potential as an instructional alternative for developing creative writing skills. Practically, the findings underscore the importance of teacher-designed project activities in facilitating meaningful and student-centered Arabic writing instruction.

Abstract

To truly understand Arabic and its intricacies, effective and efficient Arabic language learning is necessary. To achieve effective and efficient Arabic learning, careful planning in the form of a curriculum is required. In teaching Arabic language, the curriculum is developed based on certain foundations. The purpose of this paper is to describe the foundations in designing an Arabic language curriculum. This paper focuses solely on the sociological, psychological, scientific, and technological foundations. This study uses qualitative data, which is presented in verbal form rather than in numbers. Data was collected using the literature review technique, namely by studying theories from various relevant sources. After collecting the data, it is presented in the discussion section. The findings of this paper reveal that there are many fundamental aspects to consider before designing an Arabic language curriculum. However, this paper specifically discusses the sociological, psychological, scientific, and technological aspects. The sociological aspect ensures that the curriculum is relevant to social needs. The psychological aspect helps in understanding the mental and emotional development of learners, so that Arabic teaching methods can be adapted to their age, interests, and abilities. Science serves as the foundation for selecting theories that support language skills, while technology facilitates the learning process. These aspects complement each other to create an effective and innovative Arabic language curriculum, so that Arabic learning is not only theoretical but also practical and contextual.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using the Make a Match learning model in improving the Arabic vocabulary mastery of class VII students at MTs Wanasari. The Make a Match method is a cooperative learning strategy that involves students in looking for matching pairs of cards between questions and answers, which is designed to increase student interaction and active participation. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were class VII students who were chosen randomly. Data was collected through Arabic vocabulary tests before and after implementing the Make a Match model. The research results showed that there was a significant increase in students' mastery of Arabic vocabulary after implementing this learning model. Students become more motivated and active in the learning process, which has a positive impact on improving their learning outcomes. These findings indicate that the Make a Match model is effective in improving Arabic vocabulary mastery and can be recommended as an innovative learning strategy at MTs Wanasari.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the role play method in improving Arabic speaking skills among beginner-level (Mubtadi) students at Al-Ma’had Al-Lughowy. Using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, the research was conducted over two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects included 93 second-semester students from the Arabic Language Education Program. Data collection techniques comprised observations, interviews, and speaking tests. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ speaking abilities, including fluency, vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. Pre-intervention scores ranged from 40 to 55, while post-intervention scores rose to 60–80, with most students achieving or surpassing the minimum mastery criterion of 75. Students also demonstrated increased confidence, motivation, and participation in speaking activities. These findings confirm that role play is an effective method for enhancing speaking competence and fostering an interactive, student-centered learning environment. The study recommends incorporating role play into Arabic language instruction to improve oral communication skills in a meaningful and engaging way.
