Abstract

Carotenoids found in fruits and vegetables, plays an important role in preventing human diseases, including cardiovascular disease, cancer and other chronic diseases. However, many of the methods used in the determination of the chemical composition in particular for food takes a long time and the cost is quite expensive. Currently a number of instrumentation techniques have been developed to determine chemical content quickly. One example is the technique of measurement using NIR spectroscopy. In this study, NIR spectroscopy is used for the analysis of estimation of carotenoids crude extract of long and short “tongkat langit” bananas (Musa troglodytarum). The results obtained show that this fruit contains β-carotene, because the area of wave numbers 5000 to 5500cm-1 is similar between the pattern of β-carotene spectrum marker and the pattern of carotenoid pigment tongkat langit banana spectrum.

Abstract

Paper ini bertujuan untuk melaporkan efektivitas penggunaan kartun sebagai instrumen diagnostik miskonsepsi. Tipe soal yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah soal esai yang disajikan dalam bentuk kartun dan bentuk teks. Soal dalam bentuk kartun dan teks dibagikan kepada sampel untuk dikerjakan. Setelah soal selesai dikerjakan, lembar jawaban dikumpulkan. Jawaban dari siswa kemudian dikelompokkan menjadi dua jenis jawaban yaitu : jawaban benar dan salah. Jawaban salah dibagi lagi menjadi dua yaitu : kesalahan yang acak (tidak konsisten) dan kesalahan yang konsisten. Kesalahan yang konsisten ini disebut miskonsepsi. Hasil dari masing - masing jenis jawaban ditampilkan dalam bentuk tabel. Dari tabel tersebut, masing - masing jenis jawaban dari soal bentuk kartun dan soal bentuk teks dibandingkan  Data yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa, ketika siswa yang sama diberi soal dalam bentuk teks dan soal dalam bentuk  kartun, soal dalam bentuk kartun dapat menghasilkan jawaban yang lebih konsisten jika dibandingkan dengan soal dalam bentuk teks.

Abstract

Smartphone semakin menjadi piranti umum yang dimiliki oleh hampir semua guru dan siswa di sekolah menengah. Smartphone memiliki fitur standar berupa video yang sangat membantu perolehan data yang kemudian diolah menggunakan program Tracker sebagai software analisis. Penelitian ini melaporkan desain percobaan gerak satu dan dua dimensi di atas bidang landasan udara 2D dengan gaya gesek yang kecil. Percobaan gerak linier, tumbukan dua dimensi, dan gerak getaran teredam yang dilakukan di atas landasan udara tersebut direkam menggunakan kamera smartphone dan dianalisis dengan Tracker. Melalui percobaan tersebut dapat dihitung kecepatan rata-rata maupun kecepatan sesaat benda yang bergerak. Pada percobaan gerak linier, penentuan point mass pada Tracker menghasilkan data posisi x, posisi y, dan grafik gerak linier. Pada percobaan tumbukan dua dimensi, hukum kekekalan momentum dapat diperiksa dengan ketelitian yang cukup baik. Pada percobaan getaran teredam, dinamika gerak benda yang direkam dengan kamera dan dianalisis dengan Tracker mampu menampilkan grafik getaran teredam dengan baik. Simulasi persamaan getaran teredam cocok dengan analisis pada video. Dengan demikian penggunaan smartphone dan program Tracker pada analisis gerak mampu memberikan hasil yang akurat sehingga memungkinkan untuk digunakan dalam merancang berbagai percobaan kinematika di sekolah menengah. Smartphone has been a common device that is mostly owned by teachers and high school students. Smartphone has standard fitures such as video that is very helpful on obtained data, and then they are processed using Tracker programme as software analysis. This research reports the experiment design of one and two dimension motions on air bench with minimum friction. Linear motion experiment, two dimension collision and damped oscilation on air bench were recorded using smartphone camera and were analyzed with Tracker. Through those experiments, average velocity and instantaneous velocity of an object in motion could be calculated. In linear motion experiment, the placement of the point mass results the data of x-position, y-position, and linear motion graphs. In two dimension collision experiment, law of perpetual momentum was able to be investigated in a good precision. In damped oscilation experiment, dynamic motion of the object that was recorded by camera and analized with Tracker showed a good damped oscilation graph. Simulation of damped oscilator’s equation similar to the video analysis. Thus, using smartphone and Tracker in motion analysis were able to give accurate result so it is enabled to use it in designing various kinematic experiments in high school.

Abstract

Kesehatan terganggu akibat dari pola hidup yang tidak teratur sehingga muncul penyakit degeneratif seperti obesitas, diabetes, kanker dan jantung. Perlunya asupan makanan yang bergizi dan mengandung zat alami seperti karotenoid. Struktur karotenoid dibagi dalam dua kelompok besar: pertama, karoten (?-karoten, ?-karoten, likopen), yang merupakan hidrokarbon dimana tanpa ada molekul oksigen, dan kedua, santofil (xantophill) (lutein, seaksantin (zeaxanthin), fukosantin dan astaksantin) yang dioksigenasi mengandung kelompok hidroksil, metoksi, karboksil, keto atau epoksi. Fukosantin adalah salah satu pigmen berwarna oranye yang dihasilkan pada biosintesis karotenoid. Fukosantin memiliki aktivitas biologi yang berperan dalam mengatasi beberapa masalah kesehatan seperti antiobesitas, antikanker, pemakan radikal bebas, antiinflamatori.  Kata Kunci: Kesehatan, Karotenoid, Algae, Fukosantin.

Abstract

Indonesian water area is vast and has a great potential of natural resources. Most of the Indonesian people working as fisherman describes that oceanis place of making a living. Watery area resources Indonesian watery area is vast and has a great potential incude shrimps, fish, and other organism tosupport human life. Ocean organism has been known to contain nutrition which is good for human’s health. Shrimps contains omega 3, mineral, fat,citin, carotenoide (astaxanthin) and vitamin. The active compound have an ability to prevent disease and meet the nutritional need of body. Omega3 andastaxantin for example are active compounds found in shrimps. These compound play a role as antioxidant and free radicals scavenger can be supplementfor pregnant women and baby. Omega 3 and antaksantine are found in various shrimps and fish. Thus, the development of product from this organismincludes supplement, margarine, cake, souse, bread, kerupuk, flour and salt. In this review, the writer describes the the functional compound and itsusage as food product.

Abstract

The Radiology Unit is a support unit to provide Radio Diagnostics and Radio Therapy service support. Patient safety studies that emphasize patient safety (Patient Savety) are the main thing and priority in every service provided. Panti Wilasa Dr Cipto Hospital as a Health Service Center in the Radiology Unit has conventional X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, Panoramic, and CT Scan equipment, must also have Radiology Service Safety Standards. This standard is a reference in working on all types of services and equipment and levels for Radio Diagnostis and Radio Therapy. Until now, a Service Safety Study has not been prepared in the radiology unit. For this reason, it is necessary to assist the Service Safety Study in the Radiology Unit. The drafting team came from the Physics Study Program together with Level 7 Medical Physicists in the fields of Radio Diagnostics, Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy and Level 2 Medical Radiation Protection Officers.

Abstract

This study aims to examine positive mindset as a major factor in optimizing the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve student learning outcomes in elementary schools. A descriptive qualitative approach was used involving 5th grade students and teachers who use AI technology in learning. Data were obtained through observation, interviews and document studies and to test the validity of the data tested using triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study indicate that the use of AI provides significant benefits by increasing personalization of learning, assessment efficiency, and provides significant benefits by increasing personalization of learning, assessment efficiency, and students' understanding of complex concepts. The percentage of student learning outcomes completion increased from 35% to 90% after the implementation of AI-based media. Students' positive mindset plays an important role in maximizing the effectiveness of AI technology, while teachers are the main facilitators in creating a supportive learning environment. However, challenges such as dependence on technology, limited infrastructure, and the need for teacher training need attention. With the right regulations and cooperation between educational institutions, government, and society, AI integration can have an optimal impact on improving the quality of education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the application of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) learning assisted by ikat weaving in improving the creative abilities of fifth-grade students of SDN Sonraen, South Amarasi District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with 32 students divided into eight heterogeneous groups. Data were collected through observation, assessment rubrics, interviews, questionnaires, and tests, then analyzed with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions according to the Miles & Huberman model. The results show that the application of STEAM learning assisted by ikat weaving can facilitate the active involvement of students in creative, collaborative, and problem-solving thinking processes through local culture-based activities. Students are able to produce simple woven works that combine aesthetic elements with the principles of science and technology. In addition, this activity improves students' creative abilities as seen from original ideas, problem-solving skills, and appreciation of local wisdom. Thus, culture-based STEAM learning is proven to be effective in fostering creativity while strengthening students' cultural identity. The conclusion of the research using the STEAM approach assisted by ikat weaving has proven effective in building students' creative abilities while making the learning process more contextual, enjoyable, and meaningful
