Abstract

Some of the main issues that will be discussed in this paper include: 1) the perception that premarital counseling is not important and a waste of time; 2) premarital counseling is carried out only to fulfill the requirements of marriage; 3) premarital counseling is considered an unpleasant way because it talks about personal things.The aim of the study is to show Christians that premarital counseling is important to prepare for lifelong marriage. Starting a family needs to be well prepared through premarital counseling so that each partner knows who he is, what are his weaknesses and strengths in order to become a family that grows in faith and lets go of the old pattern of life so that it becomes a blessing.The method used is qualitative research with the hope of giving the right perspective and attitude about the importance of premarital counseling.

Abstract

Some of the main issues that will be discussed in this paper include: 1) there is an assumption from the congregation that the ministry is only the pastor's job because he has attended special lessons in theological colleges; 2) the role of elders is not optimal because the pastor of the church does not prepare them through coaching; 3) elders do not carry out their duties to the fullest because they do not understand. The purpose of the research is to provide an understanding that the ministry's task is not only carried out by the pastor of the church, that's why it is necessary to prepare coaching for prospective elders to provide support for the ministry. Involving elders needs to start with coaching to understand God's Word and their ministry role. The method used is lectures and training with the hope that it can provide an understanding to the prospective assemblies that service is also their responsibility.

Abstract

The main problems of writing this article are, first, the emergence of dogmas in the local church that contradict or deviate from the Bible; secondly, dogmatic teaching in local churches is not a fundamental emphasis because it is considered difficult and impractical, unpleasant to discuss, and ministers in local churches do not understand and study dogmatics. The author wants to explain the application of dogmatics in the local church to strengthen the congregation's faith so that the congregation is not led astray by other dogmas or that the congregation's faith can be strengthened because of a perspective following the Bible. The research method used is qualitative research. So, it can be concluded that there needs to be dogmatics so that the local church is not influenced by dogmas that do not follow the Bible. This dogma is helpful for the firmness of the congregation's faith in the local church so that the congregation's faith becomes more substantial and can become a witness.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap keberadaan Uma di Mentawai dari sisi kemampuan mempersatukan suku dan membangkitkan spiritualitas masyarakat. Budaya dimiliki tiap Suku di Indonesia maupun dunia. Mentawai satu suku dari beberapa suku yang ada di Sumatera Barat memiliki bukti fisik dan non fisik sebagai tanda keberlangsungan budaya. Uma adalah satu artefak yang dimiliki dimana jumlahnya kini tidak lebih dari 20 unit di semua kepulauan Mentawai. Keberadaan Uma dalam aspek culture experience tidak lebih baik dari aspek culture knowledge. Padahal dalam benak semua suku Mentawai, Uma memiliki daya yang kuat mempererat antar elemen masyarakat. Sedangkan pada segmen spiritual, Uma dapat dipergunakan untuk membuat pesan-pesan keagamaan dan budaya yang ada lebih dipahami dan muda untuk disampaikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dimana data primer diperoleh dari wawancara yang mendalam dan observasi ke tempat. Narasumber dipilih dari pelaku dan yang memiliki hubungan langsung dengan keberadaan Uma. Sedangkan data sekunder dari penelusuran literatur yang mengkaji variable penelitian dari sumber terpilih. Dialog diantara data kemudian dianalisa untuk memperoleh kesimpulan sesuati tujuan penelitian. Keberadaan Uma telah makin minim sedangkan fungsi dan perannya di masyarakat sangat diperlukan. Dari penggunaan seturut tradisi dan rule Arat Sabulungan, Uma dapat digunakan lebih luas lagi pada berbagai segmen di masyarakat. Bukan saja bermanfaat dalam mengatur hubungan masyarakat agar semakin bersatu, tetapi juga pada aspek kerohanian. Karena itu keberadaan Uma di tengah Suku Mentawai masih sangat dibutuhkan. Stakeholder bidang kebudayaan dan keagamaan dapat mengambil peran untuk mempertahankan keberadaan Uma.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Articles of Association and Bylaws (AD/ART) in realizing an orderly and growing church. The Church as a spiritual and social organization needs an orderly system to achieve its ministry goals effectively and sustainably. Through a qualitative-descriptive approach, data was collected through literature studies, observations, and interviews with leaders and congregation members in several local churches. The results of the study show that AD/ART plays a role as a structural guideline that regulates the duties, authorities, and responsibilities of the ministry, as well as as the foundation of ministry ethics that maintains integrity and order in the church body. In addition, AD/ART has also proven to be a strategic instrument in encouraging church growth through long-term planning, leadership regeneration, congregation participation, and accountable financial management. Consistent implementation of AD/ART creates organizational stability, strengthens the church's identity, and increases the trust and involvement of congregation members. Thus, AD/ART is a crucial element in the construction of a healthy, orderly, and sustainable growing church.

Abstract

This paper explores the impact of video-based pastoral counselling on the spiritual recovery of Generation Alpha. As digital technology becomes increasingly woven into our daily lives, understanding its role in fostering spiritual growth and recovery among younger generations is more important than ever. Recent research shows that video-based pastoral counselling tends to attract higher-income participants, with 61% belonging to upper-class demographics and 39% from lower-income backgrounds. To evaluate the effectiveness of this intervention, we collected data through structured surveys that assessed participants' spiritual well-being both before and after the counselling sessions. A chi-squared analysis was performed to examine the normality of the data distribution, resulting in a calculated value of 0. 654. This figure falls below the critical value of 3. 841 at a 5% significance level with five degrees of freedom, indicating that the data adheres to a normal distribution. Consequently, we retain the null hypothesis (H₀) and reject the alternative hypothesis (H₁). This study asserts that video-based pastoral counselling serves as an effective means of promoting spiritual recovery among Generation Alpha. Furthermore, it provides valuable insights into how digital tools can be integrated into pastoral care and offers practical recommendations for incorporating technology into spiritual development initiatives.

Abstract

The electronic media discussed in this paper are temporarily only focused on the use of internet media and professions which are currently trending. This is because it is the use of the internet that is currently the most popularly used by many people, apart from being something that can be categorized as something that is 'booming'. It should be underlined, with the existence of technological developments in the future, it is possible to use other network media besides the internet in e-commerce. So our thinking should not only be fixated on the mere use of internet media. Community service this time is to provide training/debriefing for students aged 13-17 years. The negative impact arising from the effectiveness of TikTok's social media has also made it impossible for them to play TikTok. Teenagers often lose track of time and neglect other work or become obsessed with the TikTok application itself. There is still a lot of content on the TikTok application that is not appropriate for teenagers to see. The positive impacts of using social media are as follows: a. Can make social media a means or media used to communicate with other users. Through this communication individuals can have a motivation to develop themselves to be better. For example, having a desire to study hard is obtained from the results of interpersonal communication with other users. b. Develop yourself by honing capacity through videos watched on social media. For example, by watching a video that has a moral message for the lives of teenagers, they should not give up in carrying out the educational process they are facing and continue to be enthusiastic and persistent in achieving all their desires. c. Can express emotions owned by teenagers through a post on social media. Apart from that, the existence of positive content on social media makes individuals have positive reinforcement to form better character or self-development. Meanwhile, the negative impact obtained from the use of social media which is used as a medium for strengthening character for adolescents can be seen through accessing the negative content chosen by teenagers. In this research, the writer or researcher uses qualitative researchers in order to get the right sources to develop hypotheses related to the subject or research topic. A proper qualitative approach involves analyzing and describing every source, information, and data in the literature. Qualitative research emphasizes the depth of data obtained by researchers. The deeper and more detailed the data obtained, the better the quality of this qualitative research. So, qualitative research is a research approach used by the author to describe information and data analysis that is relevant to the topic of discussion.
