Abstract

Bengawan Solo merupakan sungai yang sudah banyak mengalami perubahan oleh Waduk, Bendungan, Sodetan, dan lain-lain. Bengawan Solo melewati Provinsi Jawa Tengah dan Jawa Timur yang padat penduduk, sekitar 15,2 juta jiwa berdomisili di satuan wilayah Sungai Bengawan Solo dan juga banyak terdapat industri. Permasalahan tersebut dapat berpengaruh langsung terhadap kehidupan organisme air kajian tentang parameter físika-kimia perairan diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi tentang status kualitas perairan di Bengawan Solo. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitianini adalah oksigen terlarut, karbondioksida, pH, fenol, minyak-lemak, amonia, Cd, Cr, Zn, Pb, Cu, dan CN. Terdapat indikasi bahwa Bengawan Solo di daerah Solo-Sragen dan sekitarnya telah tercemar bobot dengan kualitas air buruk yaitu oksigen rendah (beberapa lokasi kurang dari 2 mg/L, karbon dioksida tinggi (8,8-34,32 mg/L), NH3-N bebas tinggi (beberapa lokasi lebih dari 0,2 mg/L), COD tinggi (1,64-172 mg/L), fenol tinggi (0,087-1,431 mg/L), minyak lemak tinggi (2,6-54,6 mg/L).Konsentrasi logam bobot pada beberapa lokasi yaitu Kampung Sewu, Bak Kramat, dan Tundungan cukup tinggi yaitu Cr= 0,180- 0,375 mg/L, Cu=0,026-0,293 mg/L, dan Zn=0,515-2,892 mg/L. Demikian juga kandungan logam bobot pada ikan sapu-sapu (Liposarcus pardalis) cukup tinggi pada beberapa lokasi Kampung Sewu, Tundungan, Bak Kramat, dan Butuh; Cr=0,856- 2,154 mg/kg, Cu=3, 69-198,48 mg/kg, Pb=1,067 - 2,006 mg/kg, dan Zn=53,516-102,285 mg/kg. Perlu dilakukan pengendalian pencemaran di Bengawan Solo dengan cara meningkatkan kesadaran bersama, pemantauan pembuangan limbah, dan penindakan bagi para pelanggaran. Bengawan Solo River is highly modified by dams, impoundment, reservoir, channelization, etc. It traverse through Central Java and East Java province in its passage from headwaters to the sea. Industries and heavy population (approximately 15.2 million people) near the river have potentially wreaked havoc upon the river. Study on physical and chemical parameters expected provide enough information on water quality condition in Bengawan Solo River. Parameters under study were disolved oxygen, carbondioxid, pH, fenol, NH3-N, oil, and grease, COD, Cr, Cd, Pb, Zn, Cu, and CN. An overview of water quality of Bengawan Solo River in Solo-Sragen region indicates that the segments is already strongly polluted as indicated as low oxygen (some location less than 2 mg/L) and high amount of CO2 (8,8-34.32), high free NH3-N (some location more than 0,2 mg/L), COD (1,64-172 mg/L), fenol (0.087- 1,431 mg/L), and oil and grease (2,6-54.6 mg/L). Heavy metals content of some location at Kampung Sewu, Bak Kramat, and Butuh were Cr=0,180-0,375 mg/L, Cu=0,026-0,293 mg/L, Zn=0,515-2,892 mg/L. Heavy metals content in fish tissue of sapu-sapu were high enough at some location (Kampung Sewu, Tundungan, Bak Kramat, and Butuh); Cr=0,856-2,154 mg/kg, Cu=3,69-198,48 mg/kg, Pb=1,067- 2,006 mg/kg, and Zn=53,516-102,285 mg/kg.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for agricultural machinery to support a cropping index of 200 in swampy land. This research was conducted in August 2021 in Muara Abab Village, Rantau Bayur District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. This study used a descriptive-tabular method, while collecting primary data using survey techniques and semi-structured interviews. Secondary data collection was obtained through a literature study conducted to collect data on institutions and policies supporting the development of agricultural tools and machinery. The data obtained was processed descriptively and analyzed to see farmers income and the data is presented in the form of tabulations. The results showed that the total income of lebak swamp farmers was IDR 8,963,625.00/ha/year. To support the activities of the index cropping 200, it is necessary to add additional agricultural equipment such as 5 units of 2-wheeled tractors, 1 unit of 4-wheeled tractors, 9 units of water pumps, 5 units of combine harvesters, 14 units of threshers and dryer as much as 2 units. Abstract

Masyarakat Desa Permata Baru, yang terletak di Kecamatan Indralaya Utara, Kabupaten Ogan Ilir, menjadi fokus utama pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian sosialisasi tahun 2024 oleh tim pengabdian Universitas Sriwijaya. Sebagai salah satu desa binaan universitas, Permata Baru menyimpan potensi agraris yang menjanjikan, tidak hanya terbatas pada pertanian lahan basah, namun juga pertanian lahan kering atau ladang. Mayoritas petani di desa ini memiliki keahlian dalam menghasilkan beragam komoditas, mulai dari jeruk lemon, aneka sayuran, produk hortikultura yang bervariasi, hingga pembibitan kelapa sawit yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi. Kendati demikian, praktik pertanian hortikultura di Desa Permata Baru saat ini sangat bergantung pada ketersediaan pupuk anorganik dan kondisi iklim yang seringkali tidak menentu. Keterbatasan pasokan pupuk anorganik bersubsidi di pasaran menjadi permasalahan krusial, sehingga memicu kenaikan harga yang signifikan. Situasi ini secara langsung membatasi hasil panen yang dapat diperoleh petani, yang pada akhirnya berdampak pada penurunan pendapatan mereka. Dalam upaya memberdayakan masyarakat dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan petani, khususnya mereka yang memiliki potensi produksi mandiri, Unit Pengelola Kegiatan (UPK) PKK "Beguyur" kembali diaktifkan pada tahun 2018 dengan mengusung sistem simpan pinjam. Langkah strategis ini diharapkan dapat memberikan akses modal bagi anggota PKK untuk mengembangkan usaha pertanian mereka. Adanya kegiatan sosialisasi mengenai sistem evapotranspiratif dan praktik pertanian organik direncanakan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan baru kepada petani dan anggota PKK "Beguyur". Diharapkan, melalui pemahaman dan penerapan metode pertanian berkelanjutan dan efisien, produksi pertanian dan pendapatan penduduk Desa Permata Baru dapat meningkat secara signifikan.

Abstract

The varying characteristics of soil in the Bendung watershed influence water infiltration processes, and soil permeability is an important indicator for assessing the soil's effectiveness in absorbing water. The relationship between permeability and water absorption capacity can help determine the risk level of waterlogging and flooding in the Bendung watershed. The study aims to analyze soil permeability variations in the Bendung watershed and their impact on flooding events. The method used is the Falling Head Test to accurately measure soil permeability at 14 locations, by measuring water height in a pipe inserted into the soil. Permeability values vary, with the highest value of 12.129 cm/hour in locations with sandy soil, while locations with clay content have lower permeability values, at 0.756 cm/hour. There is a connection between soil permeability and waterlogging. Soils with low permeability tend to cause water accumulation, increasing flood risk due to saturated soil. Conversely, high permeability indicates good water absorption capacity, as sandy soils have pores that effectively allow water to pass through. Soils with high sand content have higher permeability values, aiding water absorption in waterlogged areas. Clay soils have lower permeability and tend to cause waterlogging, increasing flood risk due to their saturated properties.

Abstract

Ngawi Regency is one of the largest rice-producing regions in East Java. However, this area faces challenges related to water availability due to relatively low rainfall, making adequate groundwater sources essential to support agricultural irrigation systems. Therefore, analyzing subsurface geological characteristics is crucial for mapping the presence and distribution of aquifers as one of the primary sources of irrigation water. This research uses the Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) method using the Schlumberger configuration to identify water-bearing rock layers. Data acquisition was conducted at six measurement points located in dry areas to minimize potential bias caused by soil moisture or surface water. These six points form a rectangular area, allowing the development of one-dimensional and three-dimensional subsurface models using IP2WIN and RockWorks software, with adjustments based on regional geological conditions. The interpretation results show that the research area consists of clay layers, silt layers, and sand layers which are included in alluvium deposits (Qa), where the sand layer is indicated as an aquifer. The aquifer depth ranges from 5.3 to 75 meters, with thicknesses varying between 7 to 33 meters at each measurement point. This aquifer layer is confined between low-porosity clay and silt layers, indicating that the aquifer is likely to be classified as a confined aquifer.

Abstract

The use of swampland faces various challenges, such as flooded soil conditions, high acidity levels, and limited access to agricultural facilities and infrastructure. One of the solutions to overcome these challenges is the modernization of agricultural tools and machinery (alsintan), especially the use of hand tractors as an efficient soil tillage tool and in accordance with the characteristics of swampland. Tapus Village is one of the administrative areas located in Pampangan District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province. Tapus Village already has agricultural tools and machinery in the form of hand tractors that are quite adequate, but their use is still not optimal. The purpose of this study is to determine the role and strategy in optimizing hand tractor agricultural tools and machinery to support the management of swampland (OPLA) in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency in a more optimal and sustainable manner. In this study, methods were used in the form of literature study, gap analysis, SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat) analysis, conducting needs and opportunities studies (KKP) and conducting observations and deep interviews with resource persons using questionnaires. The results of the study show that the optimization strategy of Alsintan hand tractor to support OPLA in Tapus Village can be carried out through the empowerment of farmers through training, socialization, and education on the use and maintenance of hand tractors, increasing the capacity of special operators, utilizing Alsintan hand tractors that are available, increasing UPJA and Alsintan workshops in Tapus Village. It is hoped that the results of this research can support the sustainability of the implementation of the strategy so that it can be carried out efficiently and effectively.
