Abstract

ABSTRACT This thesis is entitled "The Effectiveness of Image Media on the Ability to Write Persuasive Texts in Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 11 Lubuklinggau". The research method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method. The population in this study were all students of class VIII, totaling 148 students and the sample in this study was class VIII.4. randomly selected 28 students. Analysis of the data used in this study using the "t" test. based on the results of data analysis that has been carried out with the SPSS Version 20 application, the "t" test data obtained with a value of (12,229) by looking at the Sig (2-tailed) of 0.000 and seen from the confidence level or 0.05 So the Sig (2-tailed) data is smaller than the confidence level (0.000 < 0.05), it can be stated that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Based on these results, it can be concluded that Image Media is Effective for Improving the Ability to Write Persuasive Texts in Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 11 Lubuklinggau.

Abstract

The use of Indonesian Language is a concern, especially in it is implementation in society. Based on the results of observations made by the service team at SD Negeri 02 Lubukngin, Selangit District Musirawas, information was obtained that good and correct use of Indonesian was still very low among students. This is proven by the results of students' work, especially for their writing skills, there are still many errors in using correct spelling. This condition has an impact on students' literacy skills at SD N 2 Lubukngin. The problem faced by partners is the difficulty in teaching students the proper and correct use of Indonesian. The results of students' work, both written and oral, show students' limited understanding of correct spelling. Another problem is that schools have not received special attention from the government or community organizations in the field of language to provide special training and guidance on the importance of using Indonesian properly and correctly at SD N 2 Lubukngin. The method used includes four stages, namely the initial stage, training stage, mentoring stage, and evaluation stage. The conclusion obtained through this training activity is that there has been an increase in Indonesian language skills, especially understanding the importance of spelling in writing. The final assessment results showed that the participants' writing ability through (story telling) was at a percentage of 64%. So it can be concluded that Indonesian language skills training for students at SD Negeri 2 Lubukngin is quite effective in improving Indonesian language skills in the field of writing.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations and interviews conducted with a village official, Mr. Feri Ardi Ragil Saputra, the Village Secretary, on July 5, 2024, in Ciptodadi II Village, it was found that the literacy level among the community, especially the youth group, is low. The initial evaluation results showed that literacy skills were categorized as "adequate," with an average percentage of 57.5%, indicating that only slightly more than half of the community has sufficient literacy skills. Meanwhile, the assessment of digital literacy skills showed a low average percentage, with only 15% of participants demonstrating good digital literacy skills, while the rest did not possess adequate digital literacy abilities. However, the final evaluation results indicated a significant improvement. On average, 100% of the indicators were correctly answered. This demonstrates that the digital literacy mentoring activities conducted through the Baca-Cerdas (Smart Reading) community in Ciptodadi II Village, Sukakarya District, were successful in enhancing both reading literacy and digital literacy skills. The expected outcome, as presented in a scientific article to be published in the 2024 edition of the Cemerlang journal, includes the establishment of the Baca-Cerdas learning community as an initiative to improve digital literacy skills among the youth in Ciptodadi II Village, Sukakarya District. Additionally, the program achieved an improvement of over 50% in digital literacy skills among the broader community in Ciptodadi II.
