Abstract

Abstract The procedure for choosing teaching materials consists of deciding on, modifying, and assessing instruction based on the unique needs of the learner. This study's objective is to offer the highest-quality English material feasible for Fish Hatchery Technology students of Politeknik Bombana. This study is carried out in Politeknik Bombana. 75 students and 5 lecturers of the Fish Hatchery Technology study program are participating. The information is presented as qualitative data gathered from an interview with students and lecturers as well as a questionnaire that covered relevant subjects and instructional strategies. The results show Fish Hatchery Technology’s students’ need for ESP in a broad range of subjects. The most popular subjects include fisheries entrepreneurship, fish anatomy, and the physiology of fish and their reproduction. Additionally, from the lecturers' viewpoint, they believe that students' communication and writing abilities need to be well-developed in order to support their profession and advance their careers as fish hatchery experts, fish hatchery managers, fish hatchery supervisors, laboratory analysts, nutrition and fish feed specialist, etc. The analysis of the conclusion highlights the significance of ESP for students studying fish hatchery technology.   Keywords: ESP, Need Analysis, Fish Hatchery Technology

Abstract

English for Specific Purpose (ESP) is essential for vocational schools presently. However, many vocational schools still provided general English language material under the students' specific program. This study investigated the target and learning needs of the travel and tourism industry program students of SMK Negeri 1 Kota Sorong in learning English. Thirty-five students participated in this study. Data were obtained from Open-ended Questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The study revealed that the students' targets in learning English were to communicate in English fluently both in spoken and written, be successful in the workplace and higher education, and have an advanced English proficiency level to be a guide in a travel and tourism agency. The students' learning needs were the learning English inputs spoken and written with pictures, learning English with the short texts with a specific topic related to the program, various activities to become active and independent learners. However, they still wanted the teacher to read the text and translate it directly with them. Therefore, students expected the school to design an ESP program to make the English learning process specifically appropriate for the travel and tourism industry program.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Saat masyarakat membutuhkan uang tunai, pilihan transaksi yang digunakan oleh masyarakat yang sering menghadapi masalah ini adalah dengan mengagunkan barang-barang berharganya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsep harga pokok barang jaminan lelang pada pegadaian syariah yang diterapkan di PT. Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Luwu dan mekanisme penetapan harga pokok lelang barang jaminan pada pegadaian syariah yang diterapkan di PT. Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Luwu. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian lapangan (field research). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan wawancara kepada informan penelitian yang terdiri dari Pimpinan Cabang, karyawan dan nasabah di PT. Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Luwu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan konsep harga lelang pada PT. Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Luwu telah menggunakan prinsip syariah, dimana jika barang jaminan nasabah telah jatuh tempo pihak pegadaian memberitahukan kepada nasabah bahwa barang jaminan tersebut telah jatuh tempo dan akan dilelang dan dalam proses pelelangan ini pihak pegadaian juga melakukan survei terlebih dahulu ke pasar setempat dan pusat pasar setempat serta melakukan penaksiran ulang agar tidak terjadi penzaliman sehingga dapat merugikan salah satu pihak dan menguntungkan pihak lain. ABSTRACT When people need cash, the transaction option used by people who often face this problem is to pledge their valuables. The study aims to determine the concept of the cost of goods auction collateral in sharia pawnshops applied at PT. Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Luwu and the mechanism for determining the cost of goods auction collateral at the sharia pawnshop applied at PT. Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Luwu. This research is a type of field research (field research). Data collection was carried out by conducting interviews with research informants consisting of Branch Managers, employees and customers at PT. Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Luwu. The results of the study show that the application of the concept of auction price at PT. Pegadaian Syariah Cabang Luwu has used sharia principles, where if the customer's collateral has matured the pawnshop informs the customer that the collateral is due and will be auctioned and in this auction process the pawnshop also conducts a survey first to the local market and the local market center and conduct a re-assessment so as not to cause oppression so that it can harm one party and benefit the other party.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan menyimpulkan isi pantun melalui model pembelajaran Inquiri Learning pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri Karang Panggung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dari pratindakan sampai dengan Siklus II. Pengumpulan data dengan teknik tes. Pada hasil pratindakan diketahui hasil rata-rata nilai adalah 68,51 dengan ketuntasan klasikal 59,26%. Pada kegiatan siklus I diketahui rata-rata nilai adalah 72,77 Dengan ketuntasan klasikal 70,37%. Pada siklus II diketahui rata-rata nilai adalah 78,14 dengan ketuntasan klasikal 92,59%. Berdasarkan hasil rata-rata dikatahui peningkatan dari pratindakan ke siklus I adalah 4,26 sedangkan peningkatan ketuntasan klasikal dari pratindakan ke siklus I adalah 11,11%. Pada Siklus I ke siklus II diketahui peningkatan rata-rata nilai adalah 5,37 sedangkan ketuntasan mengalami peningkatan 22,22%. Selanjutnya peningkatan rata-rata nilai pratindakan ke siklus II adalah 9,63 Dengan ketuntasan klasikal dari pratindakan ke siklus II adalah 33,33%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui model inquiry learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menyimpulkan isi pantun pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri Karang Panggung

Abstract

Ideally, government supervision of foreign worker (TKA) permits, in accordance with Law No. 13 of 2003, should be carried out optimally to prevent violations. However, in reality, there are still many violations in the field, highlighting a gap between legal provisions and implementation. Issues arising from this gap include a lack of labor inspectors and weak coordination with relevant agencies, leading to the proliferation of illegal foreign workers. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of TKA permit supervision from a normative juridical perspective. This article falls under the category of literature research with a qualitative approach. The methodology used is a normative legal study of labor-related regulations. The results of the study conclude that although regulations provide a strong legal foundation, the implementation of supervision in the field still needs to be improved through the enhancement of human resource capacity and inter-agency coordination to achieve the desired effectiveness.

Abstract

Outcomes. Academic Year 2022/2023. Thesis. Muhammadiyah Bone University Economic Education Study Program. Supervised by Supervisor Ir. Basri M.Si and Supervisor II Hamka, S.E.M Si. This research aims to determine: (1) the influence of critical thinking skills partially on student learning outcomes, (2) the influence of partial learning independence on student learning outcomes and (3) the influence of critical thinking skills and learning independence simultaneously on student learning outcomes. results. This research was carried out at SMA Negeri 18 Bone. The research approach is ex post facto. The population in this study were all students in class XI IIS of SMA Negeri 18 Bone, totaling 32 people consisting of 18 men and 14 women. The sample was determined using full sampling. The data analysis used in this research is multiple regression analysis. The results of the research show that: Critical thinking skills have a partially positive and significant effect on the learning outcomes of SMA Negeri 18 Bone students, because the P-value is 0.000 < 0.05 or the calculated t value is 6.521 > t table in df (30) is 2.042. Learning independence has a partially positive and significant effect on the learning outcomes of SMA Negeri 18 Bone students, because the P-value is 0.001 < 0.05 or the calculated t value is 3.760 > t table in df (30) is 2.04. The ability to think critically and independently learn simultaneously has a positive and significant effect on the learning outcomes of SMA Negeri 18 Bone students as indicated by a significant value of 0.00 (sig 0.00 < 0.05) and a calculated F value of 119.915 > the F table value in df (2)(30) is 19.50.

Abstract

Kegiatan pendampingan ini merupakan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) yang dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Duri Kepa dengan jumlah warga sekitar 73.972 jiwa. Permasalahan pola dan perilaku sehat, perselisihan warisan, kekerasan dalam rumah tangga (KDRT), perceraian, memerlukan pembinaan untuk pengembangan ekonomi masyarakat serta mendorong masyarakat untuk taat membayar pajak khususnya bagi usaha kecil dan menengah merupakan masalah yang akan diberikan solusi oleh TIM PKM Universitas Esa Unggul. Masyarakat membutuhkan informasi tentang gizi sehat, pengetahuan tentang hukum perkawinan, hukum waris, pengetahuan tentang bahayanya perkawinan dini, pengetahuan tentang parenting, dan pengembangan usaha, pembukuan dan perpajakan. Pelaksanaan dibuat dalam bentuk penyuluhan dan pendampingan, menayangkan video sehingga lebih menarik dan dapat dimuat dalam youtube sebagai media komunikasi dan informasi secara digital. Media komunikasi ini dapat dijadikan sarana bagi masyarakat untuk saling berbagi informasi antar anggota masyarakat dan Kelurahan. Melalui media komunikasi ini maka diharapkan semua informasi dari dua arah dapat cepat disampaikan dan cepat ditindaklanjuti melalui pembuatan rencana atau penanganan secara cepat.  Kesimpulan secara umum, PKM ini berhasil menambah pengetahuan masyarakat di Kelurahan Duri Kepa terkait pengembangan usaha, perilaku hidup sehat, dan sadar hukum.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore aspects of discourse analysis through Van Dijk's approach to folklore. This folklore contains many educational values, ethics, norms as well as socio-cultural aspects. For the analysis of discourse on folklore, the Van Dijk model, which emphasizes elements of critical discourse, was used (Critical Discourse Analysis). This research is library research by using the naturalistic approach with Van Dijk model analysis. The result of this research was the aspects analyzed of macrostructure and microstructure. The macro structure is thematic and schematic. The element analyzed the essence of the theme of the discourse. That is morality (admirable nature) or “good morality”. In the micro structure analyzed aspects of semantic, syntax, stylictic, and rethoric. In semantic aspect analyzed conceptual meaning, connotative meaning, social meaning, affective meaning, reflective meaning, collocative meaning and thematic meaning.

Abstract

The researcher investigated the teacher's strategies for teaching English at SMPLB Kota Sorong. This research aimed to discover teaching strategies English teachers apply in teaching English to deaf students. The researcher used descriptive qualitative research. The subject of this research was an English teacher teaching English to 8 deaf students. A total sampling was used to select the participants by conducting observation and interviews to gather data. Data analysis techniques were data reduction, data analysis, and conclusion. The researcher discovered two main strategies as the teaching strategies used in teaching English to deaf students, repetition, and visualization strategy. They were acquired to optimize the learning process in the deaf students’ classroom. In addition, if the deaf students were not yet capable of learning independently, the teacher would tolerate their conditions and abilities. This strategy benefited the teacher in guiding and controlling the material learned to improve the students' understanding. Because deaf students learn through their eyes first, using visual media or natural objects can assist them in learning English effectively.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat keefektifan bahan ajar menulis berbasis pendekatan produk siswa SD N 2 Lubukngin. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 2 Lubukngin yang berada di Desa Lubukngin Kecamatan Selangit Kabupaten Musirawas. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan R&D (research and development) untuk mengembangkan handout bahasa Indonesia. Intrumen pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara, angket, dan teknik tes. Pengembangan bahan ajar menulis berbasis pendekatan produk melalui tahapan-tahapan diantaranya, yaitu tahap menganalisis, tahap mengembangkan, tahap evaluasi dan revisi. Pengembangan bahan ajar menulis berbasis pendekatan produk model pengembangan Dick and Carey dengan 8 tahapan. Dari hasil uji keefektifan maka bahan ajar menulis berbasis pendekatan produk cukup efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, dengan persentase sebesar 56% berada pada kategori Cukup Efektif.
