Abstract

Abstract

Training with the topic "the importance of soft skills in job success for Vocational High School students"  is deemed necessary for preparation in entering the workplace.  Besides hard skills, soft skills also play an essential role in work success. The training is packaged in a talk-show format via Instagram Live, which is considered relevant for Vocational High School students under supervised Bulir Padi. The material covered in this training includes: What are soft skills? The difference between hard skills?; The benefits of having soft skills at work; and how to improve soft skills. This activity in the form of training packaged in a talk show with Instagram Live media is carried out following the preparation and implementation stages. The evaluation stage is not carried out in a structured manner. Still, from the responses and questions that arise, we can conclude that the participants are interested in joining the talk-show enthusiastically. In the next training, if it is still in a covid-19 pandemic situation that does not allow face-to-face meetings at the same location, we will continue to apply training virtually either with the zoom application, google meet, or with Instagram Live. The training evaluation will be made more structured by distributing questionnaires to determine the level of participant satisfaction with the training and conducting pre and post-test materials to determine the progress of participants.

Abstract

Church leadership is a strategic factor that determines the church's transformation toward growth, spiritual health, and the sustainability of church ministry. Of the many leadership styles, servant leadership is the most relevant to apply. This study aims to analyse the influence of servant leadership on church transformation. This study integrates servant leadership theory toward church transformation with biblical leadership narratives of Jesus, Paul, and Ezra. This study uses a descriptive, qualitative approach, drawing on a literature review of scientific journals, classic and contemporary leadership books, and biblical literature on spiritual leadership. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, theme presentation, and argumentative synthesis. The research results show that servant leadership influences church transformation. The implications can be learned from the ministries of Ezra, Jesus, and Paul. Churches that learn from Ezra demonstrate spiritual renewal. Churches that imitate Jesus demonstrate social service and humility that transform communities. Churches that emulate Paul demonstrate the empowerment of a multiplicity of leaders. Thus, servant leadership is the driving force for church transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the elements of entrepreneurial competencies on entrepreneurial intention in two big cities in Indonesia, namely Jakarta and Balikpapan. The population in this study are business people, both entrepreneurs and those who work in creative industries in Jakarta and Balikpapan. The number of respondents in Jakarta and Balikpapan was 305 and 162. The sampling technique used was convenience sampling.  This research revealed that certain competencies, such as achievement, personal maturity, and orientation to others, had a partially positive and significant impact on entrepreneurial intention among the respondents in Jakarta. Conversely, competencies like thinking problem solving, influence, and direct and controlling showed no effect. On the other hand, in Balikpapan, respondents' entrepreneurial intention was significantly influenced by achievement competence and thinking and problem-solving, while competencies like personal maturity, influence, direction and control, and orientation to others did not play a role in shaping the intention to become an entrepreneur. The research underscores the potential for refining entrepreneurial competency frameworks based on the specific competencies that influence entrepreneurial intention.
