Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model in improving the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak at MIN 2 Pasaman Barat. The background of this study is based on the low student engagement in conventional learning, which tends to be monotonous. Therefore, an innovative learning model is needed that can encourage (1) active thinking skills, (2) speaking skills, and (3) writing skills. This type of research is field research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, documentation, and learning outcome tests. The research subjects were the Aqidah Akhlak subject teacher and fifth-grade students at MIN 2 Pasaman Barat. The results of the study indicate that (1) the application of the Think Talk Write model can improve student outcomes, strengthen conceptual understanding, and train communication and writing skills. (2) the improvement in student learning outcomes is seen from daily test scores data, which shows that the majority of students obtained scores above the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM), which proves the effectiveness of this model in improving student achievement. (3) Supporting factors for the implementation of TTW include teacher commitment, active student participation, and a conducive learning environment. (4) Inhibiting factors include limited learning time, students' lack of basic thinking skills, and limitations in managing large classes. The conclusion of this study is that the TTW model is effective in teaching Aqidah Akhlak in class V at MIN 2 West Pasaman. This model not only improves learning outcomes but also helps develop students' critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills. Therefore, the implementation of TTW is a suitable alternative learning strategy to improve the quality of education in madrasas.

Abstract

This study analyzes the comparative teaching methods used in Islamic education, focusing on Islamic secondary schools and pesantren in Indonesia. Using a literature review approach, the research examines academic books, journal articles, and educational reports to identify the characteristics, strengths, and limitations of both traditional and modern teaching methods. The findings indicate that traditional methods are effective in strengthening students’ understanding of classical religious texts, cultivating discipline, and preserving Islamic scholarly traditions. However, these methods provide limited support for the development of critical thinking and creativity. In contrast, modern teaching methods enhance student motivation, active engagement, and the ability to relate learning materials to real-life contexts and the demands of the digital era, although their implementation is often hindered by technological limitations and teachers’ competencies. Overall, the study concludes that both methods demonstrate distinct forms of effectiveness and complement one another. Integrating traditional and modern approaches is therefore considered the most relevant strategy for developing Islamic education that is comprehensive, adaptive, and aligned with contemporary educational needs

Abstract

Trend pengukuran kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMK semakin meningkat pada 5 tahun terakhir. Kemampuan berpikir kritis digital menjadi fenomena baru yang penting dieksplorasi namun masih memilki keterbatasan dalam instrumentasi khususnya untuk mendukung kesiapan karier siswa SMK, Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan dan memvalidasi instrumen kemampuan berpikir kritis digital berbasis indikator Watson-Glaser melalui pemodelan Rasch. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada siswa kelas XI SMK di Jawa Timur dengan desain survei kuantitatif observasional. Instrumen yang dikembangkan terdiri dari 44 butir pernyataan dengan aspek argumentasi, asumsi, deduksi, interpretasi, dan kesimpulan. Analisis Rasch dilakukan menggunakan aplikasi Winsteps 3.73 untuk menilai validitas, reliabilitas, serta kualitas item. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan instrument memiliki keberterimaan pada kategori baik mendekatai ideal berdasarkan penilaian statistik dan Rasch. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa instrumen yang dikembangkan memiliki kualitas item yang sangat baik dan layak digunakan oleh guru bimbingan dan konseling dalam mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis digital siswa SMK sekaligus mengakomodasi sumber data dalam pengembangan program layanan bimbingan dan konseling karier di SMK. Abstract. The trend of measuring critical thinking skills of vocational high school students has increased in the last 5 years. Digital critical thinking skills are a new phenomenon that is important to explore but still has limitations in instrumentation, especially to support career readiness of vocational high school students. This study aims to develop and validate a digital critical thinking ability instrument based on Watson-Glaser indicators through Rasch modeling. The study was conducted on 11th grade vocational high school students in East Java with an observational quantitative survey design. The developed instrument consisted of 44 statement items with aspects of argumentation, assumptions, deductions, interpretations, and conclusions. Rasch analysis was carried out using the Winsteps 3.73 application to assess validity, reliability, and item quality. The results showed that the instrument had an acceptability in the good category approaching ideal based on statistical and Rasch assessments. These findings indicate that the developed instrument has very good item quality and is suitable for use by guidance and counseling teachers in measuring digital critical thinking skills of vocational high school students while accommodating data sources in developing career guidance and counseling service programs in vocational high schools.

Abstract

Intercropping is an effort to plant several types of plants on the same land and time, which are arranged in rows of plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of sugarcane bagasse compost on the growth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata) intercropping with soybeans (Glycine max L. Merrill.). The design used in this study was a non-factorial randomized block design (RAK), namely bagasse compost (S) which consisted of 5 levels, namely: S0: Without sugarcane bagasse compost fertilizer (Control), S1: Sugarcane bagasse compost fertilizer. 10 tons/ha (1.92 kg/plot), S2 : Application of 20 tons/ha bagasse compost (3.84 kg/plot), S3 : Application of 30 tons/ha (5.76 kg/ha) bagasse compost plot), S4 : Application of 40 ton/ha of bagasse compost fertilizer (7.68 kg/plot). Based on the research that has been carried out, the treatment of giving sugarcane bagasse compost has a significant effect on the weight of sweet corn cobs 371.12 grams and the weight of the cobs without sweet corn husks is 279.15 grams, the best treatment is in S4, namely the application of 40 ton/ha (7.68 kg/plot). While the soybean plant height was 79.75 cm and the dry weight of soybean seeds was 22.97 grams, where the best treatment was in S3 namely the application of 30 tons/ha of bagasse compost (5.76 kg/plot).

Abstract

Fenomena body shaming dapat memberikan dampak serius terhadap kepercayaan diri dan interaksi sosial mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat body shaming, tingkat kepercayaan diri, serta hubungan antara keduanya pada mahasiswi Institut Agama Islam Negeri Pontianak. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Sampel terdiri dari 96 mahasiswi aktif yang ditentukan melalui teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah skala body shaming dan skala kepercayaan diri. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi dengan bantuan perhitungan statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat body shaming mahasiswi berada pada kategori sedang, yaitu sebanyak 70 orang (73%), sedangkan tingkat kepercayaan diri juga berada pada kategori sedang, yaitu sebanyak 72 orang (75%). Uji korelasi menghasilkan nilai F hitung sebesar 57,214 dengan taraf signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 yang menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara body shaming dan kepercayaan diri. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pengalaman body shaming tidak sepenuhnya menurunkan kepercayaan diri, melainkan dalam kondisi tertentu mendorong individu untuk membangun strategi penyesuaian diri. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya dukungan layanan profesional, khususnya konseling, untuk membantu mahasiswa mengelola pengalaman body shaming sekaligus mengembangkan kepercayaan diri yang sehat dalam konteks sosial dan pendidikan.

Abstract

This study conducts a critical examination of masculine language features used by female leaders in the public sphere in Indonesia. Based on Coates' (2015) theory of masculinity, this research aims to analyze three main features of masculine language: swearing and taboo language, commands and directives, and questions. The method employed is a qualitative approach based on narrative and content analysis, with secondary data derived from speeches found on relevant YouTube channels. The use of swearing and taboo language serves to assert their dominance in certain situations, while the use of commands and directives demonstrates control and authority. Additionally, rhetorical questions, often associated with masculinity, are used to challenge rigid gender norms. This study shows that masculine language features are not exclusive to men but can also be utilized by women. This research opens new space for discussions about dynamic linguistic identities in social life, particularly in the context of female leadership.
