Abstract

This study aims to construct an integrative model of Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) grounded in Islamic spirituality within the context of sustainable Islamic education institutions. Employing a qualitative library research approach, the study systematically reviewed eight reputable international journal articles and relevant classical Islamic literature. The data were analyzed using content analysis and integration mapping to explore the relationship between green human resource management dimensions (green leadership, recruitment, training, knowledge sharing, and creativity) and Islamic spiritual values such as amanah (trust), ihsan (excellence), ta'awun (collaboration), ' ilm (knowledge), and tajdid (renewal). The findings reveal the development of an Islamic green human resource management Ecosystem, a conceptual model oriented toward Maslahah al-'Ammah (universal benefit) through three pillars of sustainability: environmental, social, and spiritual. This model extends Social Exchange Theory and the Resource-Based View by incorporating a dimension of faith-driven sustainability. The study concludes that human resource management in Islamic education should transcend administrative efficiency by embedding spiritual ethics and the moral responsibility of humans as khalifah (stewards of the earth).

Abstract

This research is motivated by the persistence of intolerance in schools and Islamic schools, indicating the suboptimal role of Islamic education in fostering tolerant character. This study aims to analyze the role of multicultural Islamic education, identify factors influencing its success, and formulate strategies for its implementation in fostering tolerance. The study employed a library research method, reviewing relevant books and scientific articles. Data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively through the stages of reduction, classification, and interpretation. The results indicate that multicultural Islamic education plays a significant role in instilling values of tolerance through the integration of justice, equality, and respect for differences in learning. Successful implementation is influenced by teacher competence, an inclusive curriculum, and a supportive school environment. Conversely, time constraints, low teacher understanding, and a lack of clear policies are key challenges. Effective strategies include the implementation of dialogic learning, the use of participatory methods, and strengthening teacher role models. These findings confirm that multicultural Islamic education is capable of developing tolerant and inclusive students

Abstract

This study examines the issues, problems, and challenges in the implementation of multicultural Islamic education in Indonesia. As an archipelagic nation rich in ethnic, cultural, linguistic, and religious diversity, Indonesia faces unique challenges in maintaining social harmony. Multicultural Islamic education serves as an effort to integrate inclusive Islamic values with the principles of multiculturalism to foster a generation that is tolerant and respects diversity. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collection conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings identify several key issues, including a curriculum that is not yet fully integrated with multicultural values, teaching methods that lack adaptability, the need to improve educators’ qualifications, as well as the presence of prejudice and resistance from certain segments of society. Additionally, challenges in internalizing multicultural values arise due to students’ interactions outside of school, differences in religious understanding, family backgrounds, as well as limitations in school facilities and learning strategies. The challenges teachers face in teaching multicultural values include the diversity of students’ backgrounds, low levels of teachers’ multicultural literacy, resistance to pluralism, a lack of environmental support, limited learning strategies and media, and differences in perception among teachers. Despite facing various challenges, teachers play a strategic role in instilling these values.

Abstract

This research aims to examine contemporary issues that become obstacles in the implementation of multicultural-based Islamic education and formulate its development strategies in the digital era. This research uses a qualitative approach with the literature study method, namely analysing various journals and relevant scientific sources without directly involving field samples. The research results show that there are several main obstacles, namely the gap between the ideal values of Islamic teachings and learning practises, the emergence of religious exclusivity, the influence of radicalism and intolerance, and the impact of uncontrolled digital information flow such as the echo chamber phenomenon. In addition, the curriculum that is still cognitively oriented and the limited competence of teachers in applying a multicultural approach also strengthens the problem. Social environment factors also affect the formation of students' mindsets in addressing diversity. Therefore, a comprehensive development strategy is needed, including strengthening the multicultural-based curriculum, implementing dialogue learning, improving digital literacy, developing teacher competence, and creating an inclusive education environment. This research recommends that Islamic education should be more adaptive, contextual, and integrative in facing the challenges of the digital era in order to form students who are inclusive, tolerant, and able to live harmoniously in a multicultural society.
