Abstract

A press tool is used to cut or form a thin plate into the desired shape with a pressing process or a press machine. One of the main things in the design of the press tool is the calculation for determining the type, size and, material of the spring. The spring in the press tool design is placed on the stripper as a pressure plate material before it is formed. The problem that often occurs in the design of the press tool is the initial force of the spring and the number of springs often have high values. This has an impact on the difficulty of the operator in installing the spring during assembly. The installation on the press machine requires more energy that exceeds the operator's power. This problem is often a challenge in itself both in terms of designing and manufacturing press tools. Assumptions and limitations of the problem of the design is 12,64 kN. This force is used for the educational practicum materials. Based on the design calculations the number of springs needed are 4 springs. While the hydraulic required is 10 tons. The results obtained based on simulation analysis using Solidworks software, show that with the number of springs and hydraulics calculated and based on the design form of the stripper installation tool, it is in the safe category.

Abstract

The infusion system is relatively simple and easy, namely by hanging the infusion bottle on a pole and utilizing gravity so that the infusion drops will flow through the hose and enter until they flow into the veins. In the world of medicine, the use of infusion systems can also be done to enter drugs. The use of this drug must be monitored to ensure the number of doses that have been entered is according to the doctor's prescription with an infusion system. This paper aims to design and manufacture an infusion drip controller with an Android-based telemetry system. The method of this paper begins with designing and using the VDI 2221 method. The main components designed in this paper are the open and closed components of the infusion drop rate. For manufacturing using 3D printing with PLA material. Meanwhile, the measurement results were tested using a measuring cup with a 5 mm scale with ± 0.02 mm of tolerance. The results of this design show that the open and closed tool components are elliptical with an axis in the middle. While the results of the test show a comparison between the required volume and the removal of the tool by 1.2%. The tool can also provide notifications to communication devices when the volume has been reached. So that the tool can be used by following the tolerance rules for infusion and drug intake.

Abstract

Tempe chips are a type of processed food made from soy tempeh which is fried thinly and mixed with spices and other ingredients. The Tempe Chips UMKM "Ocien" which is located on the Bandung-Palimanan Highway, Gempol Village, Gempol District, Cirebon Regency, West Java, is a producer of tempe chips with modern packaging. The problem faced is the result of cutting tempeh chips which have many defects, thereby reducing quality. Based on these problems, it isnecessary to design and manufacture a tempe chip cutting machine using the shearmethod and equipped with a cutting thickness control driven by an electric motor with a power of 0.25 HP. Tempe chip cutting machine has a length specification of80 cm, width 67 cm, height 83 cm. The process of making this machine includes image identification, preparation of tools and materials, fabrication (marking, cutting, welding, grinding). Tempe chip cutting machine has the capacity to cut 2 tempeh sticks with a length of 22 cm and a diameter of 5 cm. It can cut 440 slices with a thickness of 1 mm in 4 minutes, 294 slices in 1.5 mm thickness in 3 minutes,216 slices in 2 mm thickness. 2 minutes.

Abstract

Waste is a major problem in the world and Indonesia. Used oil is one of the liquid wastes produced by machines, both in large industrial and private vehicle engines. Handling this waste oil can be done in various ways, one of which is by using it as a liquid fuel with constant heat treatment. One of the applications of this burning is used in metal smelting equipment to melt metal waste in the community, especially those that have been collected by collectors both in the Indramayu region and Cirebon 3 region. In the design process, a simulation of the safety of the material used is carried out using solid work software using A36 steel. For the performance test, several variations were carried out including the input distance of used fuel oil at a distance of 5 cm, 10 cm and 15 cm and the opening of the used oil tap as fuel in the form of , and 1. The test was carried out using fuel oil to melt 1 kg of aluminium The results of the flow simulation process obtained data with a distance of 10 cm where the airflow is sprayed spread out in the burner and the optimal parameter at the time of smelting is that with a tap opening it will be more effective in fuel use and aluminium smelting time.

Abstract

Hydrotest testing carried out in the valve industry still uses manual methods. This makes the hydro test process less efficient in processing time. Therefore, it is necessary to design a valve testing tool to speed up the testing process. The tool is designed must be able to withstand the hydro test pressure in the specified number of valves simultaneously. This research was a design on frame strength testing which aims to operate at certain pressures by standards. The method was used by numerical simulation and theoretical. Theoretical with cross or distribution method was used as validation of numerical simulation results. The results of the numerical simulation show safe results when operating with a von misses stress of 193,155 N/mm2. While the error of the design produced with theoretical calculations is 32-33%.

Abstract

One of the materials used in ship propellers is aluminum alloy. The advantages of aluminum are that it is easy to cast and relatively resistant to corrosion. This research aims to determine the effect of heat treatment and the effect of variations in the concentration of H2SO4 and immersion time in optimal of the anodizing process on the hardness value of 7075-O aluminum alloy (as-cast aluminum alloy). The method used is solution heat treatment at a temperature of 490ºC with a holding time of 6 hours, quenching using water or oil, with artificial aging at a temperature of 120ºC with a holding time of 24 hours. In the anodizing process, a sulfuric acid solution with various concentrations of 10%, 15%, and 20% with variations in immersion time of 10, 15, and 20 minutes. The results of vickers hardness test on heat-treated specimens with water quenching accompanied by artificial aging is 137.54 HV, it is increased by 47.44%. While the results of the vickers hardness test after anodizing is 213.09 HV, it is increased by 128.42%. Where the optimum hardness value was achieved at a concentration of 15% H2SO4 and an immersion time of 20 minutes. The coating thickness is equal to 25.79 µm.

Abstract

Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi saat ini sudah semakin pesat dan di dalam setiap industri dituntut kerja cepat dan tepat dalam memenuhi kebutuhan. Pemanfataan teknologi saat ini tidak akan lepas dari bidang kelistrikan karena semua komponen teknologi pasti menggunakan energi listrik sebagai sumber utama. Pemahaman akan konsep kelistrikan ini harus dapat dipahami sedini mungkin, terutama bagi siswa SMK yang lebih banyak menerapkan konsep praktek didalam kurikulumnya. Pendidikan kejuruan merupakan Pendidikan yang diarahkan untuk mempelajari bidang khusus, agar para lulusan memiliki keahlian tertentu. Kesulitan memahami konsep yang abstrak, komplek, dan dinamik merupakan permasalahan dalam pembelajaran sistem kelistrikan. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini yakni untuk melakukan penerapan teaching aid motor 3 phase dalam bidang kelistrikan pada program keahlian Teknik Pemesinan SMK PGRI Jatibrang Indramayu. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dimulai dari identifikasi permasalahan, studi literatur dan observasi, pembuatan desain teaching aid, pembuatan dan perakitan produk, uji coba teknis, analisa gambar rangkaian, evaluasi kegiatan dan sosialisai/pelatihan. Hasil yang didapat menunjukkan 16 modul kelistrikan yang telah dibuat dan mampu untuk membuat rangkaian dari motor listrik 1 phase maupun 3 phase. Kesimpulan yang dihasilkan yakni teaching aid ini dapat dimanfaatkan oleh siswa-siswi dan guru dalam memahami konsep kelistrikan motor dan membantu proses pembelajaran menjadi lebih menarik.

Abstract

The purpose of using natural fibers as reinforcement for composite materials is expected to be an alternative material to replace the used of fiberglass fibers and is expected to be able to increase the quality of water hyacinth fibers and coconut coir fibers. In this study, to determine the best tensile strength value, several experiments were carried out using the determine factor of the fiber volume fraction of 20%, 25%, 30% and the immersion factor with NaOH solution for 4 and 6 hours using a matrix in the form of epoxy resin. The test results showed that the variation of soaking in alkaline solution media (NaOH) for 6 hours with a volume fraction of 30% obtained the best tensile strength results with each type of fiber, water hyacinth fiber obtained the best results of 23.32 MPa while coco fiber the best result was 22.10 MPa.

Abstract

Current leakage in parallel gap single-sided double spot welding tools occurs if the insulation to the mass-body, either from the work table or the drive system, can reduce the current concentration and result in double-sided welding being relatively difficult to carry out or the weld results being poor. Therefore in this research, an experiment was carried out to test the machine how big the effect of leakage current is on the quality of welded joints by comparing the strength of the joint between a system without insulation and a system using insulation using the independent sample t-test statistical method with a confidence level of 95%. The results of the study show that overall the max load for CT 3 to 10 is a mean difference between without and with insulation, although it is not very significant, this is because the shear test data from the group without insulation has quite a high deviation. High deviations also occur in the upper yield data, the strongest conclusion is that providing insulation (or preventing leakage current) provides a more consistent welding result as seen from the results of the shear test data. Only CT 3 has a significant impact on both max load and upper yield.
