Abstract

This research aims to improve problem solving skills through E-Modules by Flip PDF Professional based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) integrated with local wisdom. The type of research is development research. The development procedure carried out refers to the 4D model development steps, namely define, design, develop, disseminate. The E-module used in the learning was developed with the flip PDF Professional application which integrated local wisdom called peraq api from Lombok, NTB. The test subjects in this research were 27 students in 7th grade at SMPN 11 Mataram. Data on students' problem solving abilities was obtained using a description (essay) test instrument with 5 questions (pre-test and pst-test). The increase in problem solving skills is calculated using the N-gain percentage formula. The research results showed that the N-gain percentage value was 63.85% in the medium category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that learning with E-Modules by Flip PDF Professional Based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) Integrated with Local Wisdom is able to improve the problem solving abilities of students in this research

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the stages of making Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) at SMAN 1 Sekotong, West Lombok, NTB Indonesia. Making Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) products is one of the Projects to Strengthen Pancasila Student Profiles (P5) in the independent curriculum. The research objectives were achieved with qualitative descriptive methods and what was found during the research. Data was collected by observation, interviews with teachers directly involved in this project. The results of the analysis show the stages of making Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) starting from selecting good coconuts, making coconut milk, separating the first coconut milk, and separating the second coconut milk and finally getting Virgin Coconot Oil (VCO).

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the integrated STEM project-based learning (PjBL) model in static fluid material on the generic science abilities of students at SMAN 1 Donggo. The type of research is quasi-experimental research with a pretest and posttest design with non-equivalent control groups. The sample used was class XI where MIA 1 was the experimental class and class MIA 2 was the control class. The instrument used in collecting data is a test instrument in the form of multiple-choice questions. The data analysis technique used is the n-gain test. The research results show that the average n-gain value for critical thinking skills for both classes is an n-gain value of 53.43%, a minimum value of 11.67, and a maximum value of 85.11 for the experimental class. while the average n-gain value for the control class was 44.46%, the minimum value was 17.81 and the maximum value was 72.34. Based on these values, it is concluded that the STEM integrated project-based learning (PjBL) model has an effect on students' generic science abilities.

Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the specific dispositions that contribute to effective critical thinking among prospective science students. Utilizing a descriptive survey method, the study involved 52 participants from different universities, aiming to gather comprehensive data on their critical thinking dispositions. The research instrument, a structured questionnaire comprising 36 items derived from Ennis's critical thinking indicators, was validated and tested for reliability, ensuring its efficacy in measuring the intended constructs. The findings revealed that the overall critical thinking disposition of the students was predominantly below the critical threshold, with significant variability across different indicators. For instance, indicators such as seeking and offering clear statements and reasons scored relatively high, while others like taking into account the total situation scored lower. This disparity highlights the need for targeted interventions to enhance specific critical thinking dispositions. The study recommends integrating contextual and inquiry-based learning approaches, which have been shown to effectively foster critical thinking by engaging students in real-world problem-solving scenarios. Moreover, incorporating collaborative and experiential learning experiences can further nurture critical thinking skills, promoting deeper understanding and innovation. The research emphasizes the importance of developing specific disposition like open-mindedness to improve the critical thinking capabilities of prospective science teachers, ultimately enhancing their academic performance and preparedness to tackle complex scientific issues.
