Abstract

This study evaluated how well the Android-based learning application “Marbel Sains SD 4-5” helps elementary school students learn science better. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group, involving 178 students selected from a pool of 3,650 students in 33 schools. Participants were divided into high-achieving and low-achieving groups, with each having a control group (conventional learning) and an intervention group (Marbel Sains), totaling 44 students in each group. The data collection tool consisted of a HOTS C4-level questionnaire designed to assess learning outcomes, along with an observation sheet rooted in the active learning model to evaluate student engagement. Due to the non-normal distribution of the data, the Friedman test for repeated measures and the Kruskal-Wallis test for group comparisons were used for analysis. The “Marbel Sains” application significantly improved learning activities and outcomes compared to the conventional method, highlighting its effectiveness as an interactive learning tool.

Abstract

This study examines how the "7 Minutes Workout" application affects students' motivation and activity levels at SMP Negeri 1 Semboro, Jember Regency. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a control group and an intervention group. The intervention group used the application for structured exercise, while the control group followed the traditional learning method. Student activity data were collected using ATA (Total Active Activity) and SDE (Effective Duration Session) metrics and analyzed using the Friedman test to identify significant differences across time. The results showed that the application significantly increased motivation and participation in physical activity among students in the intervention group, while the control group showed no increase. These results support the idea of the effectiveness of using ICT learning media on a material that focuses on students' active involvement in learning. This study suggests the use of fitness applications in the curriculum to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle for students.

Abstract

This study analyzes the urgency of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning approach in improving students' creative thinking and collaboration skills. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with PRISMA protocol for transparency, this study conducted a bibliometric analysis of 52 relevant international journal publications from Scopus. Data visualization, including network analysis using VOSviewer, showed that STEM is a highly concentrated central concept, indicating significant relevance and research interest. The creativity and 21st century skills nodes were consistently closely connected to STEM, with a trend of rapidly increasing attention through 2023. The high density of the words "student" and "education" also confirms the research focus on the subject and context of learning. Collaboration, as an integral part of 21st century skills, reinforces the relevance of this discussion in the STEM context. This study validates the urgency of the STEM approach as an essential strategy to optimize students' creative thinking and collaboration skills, preparing them for the complexities and global challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of integrating Wordwall media with the STEM approach on student creativity and learning outcomes in chemical compound nomenclature. A quasi-experimental method with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group design was applied. The experimental group used STEM-based Wordwall media, while the control group received conventional teaching. Results showed that the experimental group achieved a moderate N-Gain (0.66) compared to the control group’s lower N-Gain (0.29). The Mann-Whitney test indicated a significant difference between the groups (p < 0.05), suggesting that STEM-based Wordwall media improved learning outcomes. Creativity, measured using a Torrance-based questionnaire, also showed significant improvement after the intervention. In conclusion, integrating Wordwall media with the STEM approach effectively enhances student creativity and learning outcomes in chemical compound nomenclature.

Abstract

This study develops and implements a novel Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based MOOCs learning model specifically designed to enhance students’ digital literacy in higher education. Unlike previous studies that focused mainly on content delivery or platform usability, this research integrates adaptive AI algorithms and personalized feedback features into MOOCs to foster more effective and measurable digital literacy development. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach, the process comprised needs analysis, planning, prototype design, field trials, revisions, and dissemination. The research involved 135 students. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The findings reveal that the AI-based MOOCs model significantly improved students’ digital literacy across all testing phases, with consistent gains shown by the 135 participating students. User feedback confirmed that the model is efficient, adaptive, and practical for classroom application. Furthermore, dissemination activities received a positive response from institutions, lecturers, and students, highlighting its potential for wider adoption. The study concludes that the proposed AI-enhanced MOOCs model provides a scalable and sustainable framework for strengthening digital literacy in higher education, offering empirical evidence for its broader institutional adoption.

Abstract

This study focuses on the development of RBL–STEM learning materials that integrate research-based learning and STEM principles to foster students’ creativity through an eco-friendly technological innovation project, specifically the transformation of used cardboard into a functional electric broom. The development used the ADDIE development model, which consists of the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation, and this study produced a set of comprehensive learning materials, including instructional modules, student worksheets, project media, and creativity assessment instruments. Expert validation confirmed that the developed materials were valid, while responses from teachers and students indicated a high level of practicality. Empirical implementation demonstrated a moderate improvement in students’ learning outcomes, as reflected by an average N-gain score of 0.5617, and evidenced the students’ ability to generate creative and functional electric broom prototypes. These findings contribute to the field of science education by providing an empirically validated RBL–STEM learning framework that promotes creativity through sustainable technological innovation at the elementary school level. The significance of the study is reflected in its contribution to enhancing students’ creativity, strengthening their understanding of scientific concepts, and fostering environmental awareness through research- and engineering-oriented learning experiences. The developed RBL–STEM learning materials were empirically demonstrated to be feasible and effective in supporting innovative science instruction at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Academic Identity is a reflection of reputation in higher education. Its existence is a driver of competitiveness and the realization of good governance. The reason is that academic Identity has competitive characteristics that distinguish universities from other institutions and can shape public perception. Internally, a strong and consistent identity becomes a strategic value for universities. It will be an attraction and bargaining tool for external stakeholders in the global competition of higher education. This research aims to find the formulation and application of the academic Identity of higher education institutions in building competitive advantage. Methodologically, this research uses a qualitative type with a case study approach. This research was conducted at PGRI Argopuro University Jember. Researchers use data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, document reviews, and focus group discussions. Informants involved include representatives of the foundation board, Rector, Vice Rector, Head of Study Program in each faculty, Head of Unit and external stakeholders. The data analysis that researchers use is case study analysis, which includes data identification, reduction, coding, presentation and conclusion drawing. This research produces findings: (1) The academic identity formulation process includes Socio-historical extraction, Identification of values and norms, Preservation of local wisdom, Adaptation of science and technology and strategic partnerships. (2) The application of UNIPAR academic identity is realized in two managerial frameworks: First, through policies contained in the Strategic Plan, RIP and Curriculum. Second, the internalization process for the entire community is done through professional capacity-building programs. The theoretical implication of this research is to develop a model of branding higher education institutions (HEIs) that emphasizes service-based competitive advantage. The scientific facts researchers found that academic branding in higher education has a holistic basis, including socio-historical aspects of governance, as researchers have described in the discussion.
